Watching the children at play along the edges of the creek, a friend suggested that a similar game be made for our friends to join in on at when coming to the expanse. Within the crowds of children, colorful family, and soft bells which I only know to be home. There we watched as Caspian Wild, with BOATIO made by Marquessa Cassiopeia Proscipi get the furthest of all the boats made. We danced and sung around the fires, a horde of children lead by my brother took to the kitchens and escaped with may cookies. A new dialect of Ravashari and Isles hodge-podge syllables and words has been mashed together while my nephews and their new Eswynd friends both refused to speak Avarni and started to communicate in their play.
So many friends with their bells upon small folded silk flowers as our mother used to make, she would hum lightly to me while my brothers and sister were off in their chores and duties when we were younger. I would find myself running along the river, and nothing could stop me if I had one of my mother's silk flowers upon me. Its bells specially chosen for the flower and the people it would be gifted to, a song just for those that are close to us, our truest of friends.
Lord Teague's small boat was a lovely design, and I encourage him in his endeavors to make more to play with in the future. Lady Catalana's soapy wash-boat was amazing to watch as it bubbled under the current. Lady Neve's colorful little boat had many of the children cheering for it for it looked as colorful as the wind. My brother, Chieftain, and Marquis entertained the horde following him with both song, dance, and little boat. Lady Kiera's while found itself in the reeds along with Athaur's was a lovely design and with good company, and graced by Whisper Calandra.
For all that were able to come, thank you. Truly, your friendship to my family means more than I can put into words. Possibly into notes upon my strings, or within soft chimes from a dance.

I have had the joy of seeing the elder pair of children begin to make friends outside of the Isles. They are still so young, but they are curious and bold. It seemed best not to bring Mariska across the city to join in the festivities at the Rivenshari estate; once she is walking on her own, there will be plenty of opportunities for her to socialize.
All the strife in the Isles has had me on edge as of late. It reminds me how important it is for me to spend time with my children so that I can impart knowledge, teach them to love their duty to their people and the Compact, and help them to honor the gods. I hope that the legacy I leave behind for them is one they can be proud of, and one which will provide them allies and resources in their times of need.

After a period of meditation and prayer, I have come to the realization that my decision to study one thing was an indulgence. The call the gods have placed on my life is absolute, and I owe them the fullness of my dedication. Instead, I will deepen my study of the tenents of our Faith, renewing my spirit through the truths of the lessons. May the gods grant me insight and wisdom.

Relationship Note on Reigna
I have avoided writing in my journals since I was told. I know that you would call me foolish if you heard such a thing, give a fine lesson on why it was my duty, and so on. I can close my eyes and almost hear your voice.
Today I shared the story of how we named our Aeryn and found afterward I was daydreaming of more pleasant times. I remembered your anniversary gift to me, the copy of your black journal entries. Except when I went to read them I could not find them. The panic, Reigna. The panic. It was as though my chest was crushed and I could not breathe.
I tore apart our chambers looking and thankfully found them hidden in the drawer of my wardrobe, right beneath that tunic you gave me for the White Ball. For a half breath it was as if I lost you again. It was only after my heart stopped being audible in my ears that I realized it was time to write again.

I did not know Marquessa-Consort Reigna Keaton half as well as many others, but her presence in my life was such that I will remember her for the guidance and trust she placed in me. She and I ran side-by-side through the city to provide aid at the Queensrest the day Ivanite traitors attacked the city. It is unlikely I would be the physician I am today if not for her.
Which is, sadly, a statement with double meaning. In the wake of her tragic loss, and the elevation of Lady-General Eirene Riven to Guildmaster of the Physicians Guild, I am honored to be named Assistant Guildmaster. I look forward to ensuring the continued growth and success of the guild. May all we do magnify her in memory.

Can naval tactics influence land warfare? Is the reverse true? Training the next generation of Compact military officers is an important duty, and one that we will perform at the Academy of War. While it is wisdom to say that there is nothing new under the sun, things evolve. We must evolve with them. We must instill the ability for officers to question the status quo, if they are to evolve.

As the seasons begin to change and the trees begin to turn and fall into a crunchy carpet, I'm filled with a certain familiar longing that comes with the cold weather.
I'm not sure what it's name is, but I know it's made with my signature Hedonism whiskey, cranberries, ginger, apple butter, and further sweetened with honey or sticky brown sugar... served hot, of course. It makes the chill days pass faster.
