Things have been busy, and I have promised to come out of Ravnsholm if just for a bit. Other then that my time is mainly spent answering messengers along with reading through old books. Primarily while Runa SQUAWKS loudly...... Help me scholar.

My father once told me that winter was the only season to make a friend of death. I see beauty in the stillness. Perhaps this is a question for more capable minds.

It's official I have to many perfumes. I nearly spiled several of the bottles Orick made for me. I need something new to get them all sorted. This is just ridiculous.

I have to admit the more that I learn, the more I want to learn. It's exciting. Sure, ignorance my be bliss, but knowledge is pleasure. I admit, it gets frustrating to not know something and to have to fight to gain that knowledge, but once that little tidbit is revealed to you, there is a great amount of pleasure to be derived from it.

I've known and been close to mercenaries throughout my life. The men and women who make their way in the world as sellswords, private guardsmen and the like. They're a pragmatic group. Always quick with a laugh or a story. No one fights or drinks harder or better. And, there's something that makes me grin at a crew that knows what they're doing.

I'm not above a bit of silver for my troubles when it comes to going into battle, but some fights are just worth having. I can hear the ribbing I'd get for this sentiment from some, but I also know some of those same bastards are not without at least some kind of little soft spot for charity cases and hapless causes. The good ones anyway.

The big fibbers would probably say it's bad for business to let that be known. There's truth to it, I know. But Gods, I do love them for that kind of secret gallantry. Watching that inner war that happens when they're considering going against their usual nature, better judgement and desire for coin. It's maybe one of the most heartening and amusing thing I've ever had the pleasure to watch.

I recently had the opportunity to potentially learn a new dialect, only I find it pretty refreshing when I don't know a damned word that comes out of somebody's mouth. I could actually stand to comprehend far fewer people.

It was lovely to see so many honored at Bastion celebration. Even some who were gravely injured in battle were able to stand before the highlord to receive their award. i'm also glad the song was included to honor the fallen which was the most important part of the evening i feel, though the dance I shared with Lord Mattheu was a delight

I actually had the pleasure of enjoying the hospitality of Princess Keely Grayson for a lovely evening at the spa. We enjoyed the pool the sauna and played a wonderfully silly whispring game where we transformed sheep int cats i may not be as outgoing as some of the other ladies but I had a lovely time

I wish to apologize in advance to anyone who honors me with an invitation to their wedding celebration in the future for the likelihood that I will send a gift in lieu of my presence. It is not a personal slight.

That aside? House Blackshore stands strong in the wake of treachery. And I would take a sword to the cheek again if it meant being able to help save the baron and baroness-consort. I was lucky to be surrounded by dear friends and allies who rushed to my defense, and I am grateful that the situation was not more disastrous - do not misinterpret that, it was a disaster. It could have been so much worse, however. I do not appear to be in danger of losing my leg, though I will walk with a limp for some time. And this cut on my face is liable to leave a lasting scar.

I survive, and so do the Blackshores. May no traitor prevail against us.

The final event for the Refugee Charity Tournament Championship is almost upon us –- a wonderful charitable affair hosted by the Ambassador Bahiya'al'mathali of the Eurusi Consulate and the good Princes Kenjay of Redrain and Patrizio of Pravus.

I am so honoured that my Hart is home to such good things. And, I must say that the excitement is palatable. Even my ladies and gentlemen at the Hart are abuzz with excitement as they make preparations.

There is a reason a reason for this, however. For truly, the men about to step upon the sands are among the most formidable and exciting fighters in all of Avrum.

Archlector Porter of Kennex, Sir Corban of Telmar, Lord Haakon of Eswynd and Lord Ian of Kennex are all respected both upon and off the field of battle. Each one so different in style and how they approach their craft. Truly remarkable.

I know that each and every one of these remarkable warriors will without a doubt fight well and true, and that all who attend thrill at what the see and the excellent company they well meet.

And, as always, it is my greatest hope that the final fundraising will be so successful that even more people ill be helped to a better life. In fact, that may be the most brilliant win of all.

If you have not attended, the final event is highly recommended.

I wish to thank the Society Of Explorers for assisting me in visiting parts of Lenosia that are off the beaten path and have not seen visitors in what may be quite some time. It has made me reflect on all the growth and building the Lyceum has done in recent years, and how preservation is just as important. Our gardens have always been a great source of pride, so I doubt anyone would be surprised to hear that I have ordered the area we saw as a protected part of Lenosia. I look forward to returning myself to explore further one day.

It was my great fortune to attend the Grayson celebration with Suspire Nina. Is there anything more precious in this life than reneweing friendship? Perhaps dragonweep, but even then, it's a VERY close second. And I'd say that Nina shines all the more for her ability to take an idea and polish it so that it's even brighter than dragonweep.

I danced (carefully and slowly, which suited me just fine - some dances are better done slow).

And I have gained myself a physician in the form of the miraculously talented Lady Olivia, who surely does not know the task she has taken on and may end up regretting it. But I'll just keep sending gifts as apologies. It nearly always works.
