Its been a while since i've walked through the streets of Arx, my wanderlust taking me far away. It feels both completely familiar, and yet completely alien at the same time, almost as if im looking at the people and places through a fog. I know what they are, but the colors, the memories and relationships that give things such vivid life... they have faded some with time. Still, everything old can be made new again! Relationships rekindled, memories reforged! My name may have fallen off people's lips for now, but i will see to it that it returns once more!

My birthday came and went so quietly I almost forgot it. But I am treating myself to a bottle of Maiden's Blush while I put the finishing touches on my design for my ball gown.

Dear Talia,
I miss you more than I can even explain. There were so many things I wanted to tell you but never did, and I live with many regrets. But, perhaps you know it now, now that you have come to Death's home and await a new turn on the wheel.
I sorted out your will as you wanted it, but with one exception; I thought the steelsilk gown, A Visit from Inspiration, should not hang in my house for only me to see, so I have given it to the Disciples of Jayus so everyone can see your work, and to be inspired. I can go there and look at it whenever I want. Inspiration herself will understand this. I have many memories of her at my home already, so it is alright.
I kept the Mask of the Spider Maiden for myself. It is a good memory of you. I only have good memories of you, in fact, and for that, I am very glad.
I tend not to write things like this, since - despite that I am a follower of Death and all, I find the notion of wishing to meet again in another life a little strange, cause we're not the same person anyway - but I sincerely do wish that we do meet again, in another life.

There is nothing like overcoming a harrowing situation to make one appreciate life aknew. For this brief moment there is affirmation that those from different backgrounds can come together to accomplish a common goal. How ephemeral this moment may prove I know not. not for the first time I wish had more power to see into the fure or to impact it, to know that a moment of hope will not be squandered. yet i must be satisfied with the moment. Storm Brew has a nice ring to it, don't you think scholar... Gonna be one of the best brews in all of Arx.... well, if I can get someone to do it for me. The Brewing for dummies book still doesn't help and I wouldn't trust myself to be in a 10 foot radius of anything alcohol... Drinking maybe, making it? Well one will have to find out.

I HAVE ALL THE IDEAS NOW! My head is like a cup that is overflowing with water! There are so many things I want to do now! I think I want to start with building a Fire Brigade in the Lowers. I wonder how many people would like to get in on that sort of action.

I had an epiphany. Jayus and his inspiration is not just about crafting. Inspiration is what also helps us to accomplish great things! Accomplishment is to life as an orgasm is to making love. I know this is weird to write in a journal, but I also think there is wisdom in it. If you feel stagnant, it is time to think of something new to accomplish. Go out there and gain inspiration lest despair set in.

I was also thinking about animals today. They say that an animal can't change it's stripes or it's spots, but I'm not sure that this is true. If one is motivated, they can certainly dye the fur to conceal this. I've seen it happen. I have seen things with stripes coat their fur to appear shiny. This is where they dress themselves up in beauty to appear innocent as they lay the true predator trap. I have seen things with spots, change the outward appearance through any means needed to succeed.
I do not fault these changes in the environment that they exist. I just sometimes wonder if the prey realizes that they are in bed with the predator and that they are not coming out without marks of their own.

The Autumnal Gala was a delight, and I think everyone was more interested in the kittens than anything else. Those kittens were such a surprise! Fluffy does not seem terribly concerned about the kittens finding new homes, now. It has been a few months, and they are all healthy, so it was time to see them off. I certainly cannot keep them all. Two found homes right away! Princess Keely Grayson found a companion in little Piscetta - she is a sweet but vocal girl. I think that kitten must take after the father with her chocolate brown coloring. And those cream colored mittens! Adorable. Messere Zakhar took Ariesse as I felt they would be well suited to one another. She was the firstborn of the litter and will not let anyone fail to understand her importance. Headstrong, brave, and nibbly. I know she will be well cared for with him, and she will never get bored. A few more kittens will be heading off to new homes soon - more time was needed to determine the best matches between person and pet. I think Virgil and Libris have found their people. That leaves Gemima and Taurence. I am sure they will find people, soon.

Nothing quite like doing a little spring cleaning. More importantly looks like Triton's in town... it's nice to have more of the family back and particularly reliable ones. It's strange how just as simple as knowing he's in town eases my worries. Some bonds I suppose there is nothing like them...
