The Good Harvest Festival in Nightingale Park was a great time. The best part was the barrel race with my Morien man who really rolled me so well. So fun!

It is a vicious pain, this. At least, the cots are warm and plush with eiderdown at the Saving Grace.
I am happy I am here, still able to look up at a night near as dark as his armor was.

I believe I may have developed a way to understand the human personality in a concise way. I will say more after lunch.

I just recently learned of your success with quill - I am quite interested in the defeat of evil via story!

Please, tell me more.

It has been quite the week - learning of werewolves and demons, seeing friends in pain, spending time with family. I had forgotten just how quickly life in Arx speeds by; it is breathtaking. I am adjusting to how quickly time goes by, but still feel as if I am constantly needing to catch up.

My wonderful husband got me the most adorable gift, a little calico kitten. She still needs a name though. Perhaps Lady Mabelle will help me name her.

My children are growing so quickly. I could spend more time with them. I ought to, because the time does slip by fast, because I don't want them to be grown before I have an hour, a day, a week to spare for family alone.

Instead I do what work I think must be done to ensure their future. I hope they feel the love in that as well.

An exceptional event today held by Sir Bhandn and Dame Bree. They do the Knights of Solace proud! We will have to have another. Good work, knights!

Where the fuck is my family?!?

Where the fuck is my home?!?

Don't look at me like that Scholar, I'm not crazy!

Yes, I'm aware that there is blood all over my clothes, and that they are tattered. Do I look like I care?

Now, what the fuck is going on?

I also wonder how it can be we are nearly to the depths of autumn, with the long snowy season to look ahead to?

Correspondence is an underrated form of communication. What sweet joys, discovering the penning of the word, the discovery of the unexpected message awaiting me in Athenais' hands!

I have been tasked with developing more characters for Mathilde's children's book. I was skeptical of this request, but she made it clear to me that this was no different than telling any of my "laborious" firepit tales except that I needed to avoid casual cursing and substitute some other manner of conflict for splitting a man's head open with a cudgel. And so I consider the stables. AUGUSTO SUPREME, the great black steed, and his rutting partner Daisy Cotton. The two seem to be a natural pair for a tale, perhaps a parable about strength and mercy. Mahogany, the horse that will eat anything. Caramel, a horse that has never found a fence it won't break. Whistler, who has allergies.

I suppose I could swap around some roles in old stories. Lighten the tone somewhat. These are stories to help children learn about positive values and Gloria. How hard could it be?

As expected, I got quite a bruising in today's activity. My side feels like it's trying to split open and spill my blood as it did all those years ago. Stupid scar has been tender ever since I got it, but that's my burden to bear and no fault of my comrades' in striking it.

Still, no one seemed to be entirely downtrodden over how events played out, and that was the most important point of all. I'll have to think on ways to improve that little exercise, but I'm not certain I could do much better than Dame Harthall. Most of the work was completely to her credit.

Relationship Note on Wash

Lord Wash Kennex. An interesting and enthused man and one who sings my praises far more than I feel like I deserve.

It is he who should be acknowledged for his work in beginning the build of the new dock that hopefully will allow ships and supplies access to Arx again. It is long overdue.

Relationship Note on Kaia

So there is now a portrait of me hanging in Magnotta Manor, courtesy of my Sister in Law Lady Kaia.
While I am thankful for it and believe it to be masterful work, surely I don't look like that when I frown do I?

Thank you, Highlord and His Majesty, for giving this young Legate a chance to reach new heights as well as seeing and learning a new perspective. The next time, I bet Princess-Consort Alarissa can find the most suitable spot for sea exploration. More fishing?

Every year or so I need to take a moment to compose myself, find my balance once more, and accept the changes that I have had to go through. To re-evaluate those in my life, removing those who no longer offer anything and to welcome those who offer everything. To strengthen the bonds I have created with allies and to uphold the words of my House to mean every letter without hesitation.

I am ready to begin again.

My hearty congratulations go to the Baroness Gilden for finding a worthy Baron-Consort. And an even heartlier congratulations on the future Baron-Consort for coming to his senses and realizing the Lyceum is where it's at.
