After some arguments, tea service was held with wobbly chairs and a table that refused to stay still. The fork played a good hand to holding things in place.

The scribes I hired have been working diligently on compiling the Triad poems from the recent picnic into books for all who attended. Copies will also be made available to the Scholars and Disciples of Jayus. Those should be completed soon.
Luckily, my interest in hearing more poetry has been (temporarily) sated by the discovery of yet another poetic form that I had not encountered before. It is called a Reflection - what a loaded name - and has a very particular rhyming pattern. I may need to organize another picnic.

Things have been picking up really nicely now that I'm back in Arx. For a few weeks I was totally without connections and it seemed like all my chances might've dried up like so many sun-baked riverbeds, but desires flow freely in Arx and there is always some part of the chains of commerce that is lacking. Once again I've found a place filling that gap in the chain, and profiting as well. Now just to actually do something with this, to fulfill some of my own desires.

Relationship Note on Haakon
Despite how much he favors tradition over anything progressive, I can see why when we are out in battle. Revers through and through we are. I myself, as much as I love how new The Compact is, and how everything is so fancy. I never forget the home on the Isle that I grew up on. Those days as children, yearning to join the revers on the next place to raid. I am as proud an Eswynd as my near-brother. I may poke fun and annoy him with cheeky comments but he has my upmost respect and loyalty. Fighting along side him and our Allies have humbled me once again.

Seems I have not quite got the hand of my new bow and arrow, but I shall keep practicing. Fighting Shaavs is good practice. Although, I did get whacked a bit good. Thanks be to Savio for saving me in the nick of time so i only get a knick on mine..shoulder from an axe slash. Oh rather witty that joke. HA But I suppose it is not in good fashion to laugh so hard at ones,however clever they may be, jokes. Well, born on the Isles I was, so fashion wasn't much a thing, you'd think writing I would stop from rambling. That near-brother-of mine would probably have my head on a pike if he heard me prattling and rambling like a silly school girl. oops suppose I shall end my thoughts here.

I wonder how Gild feels about those who attempt to artificially manipulate the markets of our city? Is it within in her values to put in requests to buy services at obscenely low prices and then turn around to immediately sell them at up to four times the bought price? Is this the sort of values we wish to be ruling our markets and our trade centers?

Spring's blooming has does me well... Even as I still see harder days yet ahead. For now; I enjoy training with my brothers and sisters in this fresh air.
I've stumbled into good company, of late. In the Blackheart I've found a reliable sparring partner---it's rare I'm challenged by those I face, and in her, I find that challenge. A Whisper has afforded me company and fresh places.
...I've been pointed toward the Society of Explorers as an avenue to improve my instincts in the woods, to conduct good works without Arx's walls. Time will show how that goes.

To take a point farther in my last writing...The Why of a warrior is vitally important to everything about them. It can help measure the chance of victory and of defeat. Why do you do the thing that you do? Why do you go out to war in the first place? Because you were ordered to? Because duty demanded it? Or is it something more...This same why applied to virtually all other aspects of life.
When my why is more powerful than my opponents, even when that opponent is death, my chances of success are greater than they were under a lesser why. My mind, body, and spirit will attune and act more as one in those situations. I encourage everyone to deeply consider their why.

To be the greatest warrior one can be I believe it requires balance. Balance in understanding, training, tactics, equipment, and why. To be mighty with a sword and weak with understanding will bring about utter disaster. Combat, war, be it physical, mental, or social is 90% the mind and only 10% the body. Striving to understand yourself and then your enemy will take you far and failing to do so will see you fall short.
I am at a place in my life where I strive for this balance perhaps more than ever. I now strive to be mighty with a blade, even sharper of mind, and deadly with the pen.

Having a partner who challenges you in many ways is a double-edged sword. You appreciate that both sides are there to protect you while also knowing that you might kill each other.

It is good to have returned to the city. My time in Greenhaven was wonderful, however, my family here needs my help as well and it is time that I directed some focus in that direction. Expect great things to soon come from Greenmarch, for when united we are Untamed and Unconquered.

I think that I need resume my meanderings about to the taverns of the city - my guide has fallen by the wayside with the troubles that we faced of late, but to let it linger while we wait for peace... means that I might never finish it.
Plus the distraction might be lovely, given that I keep turning my thoughts to what might come next. Better to have a peaceful - if expensive - hobby for a bit than to stew in my office, no?
