Relationship Note on Eirene

You know in peace she would get bored, but in war she would worry and work endlessly to protect us all.

Such was our Duchess.

Today I tickled my babies noses and cheeks with a flower and listened to them squeal in delight, happy grins and a hint of surprise. It reminded me of when Ignacio Fidante, the Knight of Roses used to tickle my cheek with a rose back in 1007 and the indignat expression on Arik's face when I tickled his nose with a flower. I wonder if Ignacio and Cadencia plays with their children that way.

Work doesn't stop just because you leave. Thank you for reminding me, Rocco. While you're at it, bring that bottle of whiskey there. Thanks.

Ive been helping clear put all the weeds and such from the gardens at home. It's such an amazing and clean feeling, digging in the earth. It's so refreshing. There's something so satisfying when you sit back and see your hard work when everything starts to grow.

It's been such a great week! I was able to step out and visit and....well...I feel closerbto a new friend. It was great! It's always nice when you don't have to hide a piece of yourself any longer. Is hide even the right word? Protect it? It's a freeing feeling nonetheless!

Spent some much needed time home, in Southport. I needed to feel the ocean breeze, smell the salt. See some of my family, yes. Even my mother. She enjoyed seeing Calo, which there was no doubt. She said how proud she thought my father would be, of me and if his namesake.

The trip was well woerh it, my mind cleared. My son able to meet close friends and family. I am content. Now to return to work.

Dearest scholar,

The house is bustling with some much activity. Many preparations underway and the scent of fresh flowers is everywhere. I keep sneaking into the kitchen to steal treats, but I am told this it is my prerogative to have as many as I want. Except, I'm quite sure the bits of cake I snatch, when no one is looking, taste the best.

I have promised master Jareth a scene. I have not forgotten. I have simply been pulled in many directions and my hands want for time to put the workings of my brain to the page

I am beginning to have qite a collection of flowers thanks to a friend. How these precious little tokens brighten my day. Though I have told the giver of these small treasures how much I appreciate them, it reminds me that I do too little to express my feelings to those I care for and that I need not save for pricey trinkets in order to do so. I must simply be more attentive to what brings them joy and more conscientous about bring these things into their lives

Sometimes when you aren't in a festive mood, it's exactly the right time for a party!

Lady Laurent didn't disappoint. Always a gracious and lovely hostess, she left us with all sorts of unexpected information (and cake).

I especially had fun making jokes with my cousins Jasher and Romulius, and I even tied for first place in the trivia contest.

Now, to put some of this knowledge to use to continue tormenting my dinner guests.

Last night was the first night in awhile that I felt like my old self again. Seeing Lady Mabelle and all of my friends such as Audgrim and Amari made me realize that the last few months of self-sabotage of my emotions were not doing me any favors. I have to move on and move forward, which is what I am going to do.

I took home the Sharpest Bee award last night as well! My obsession with my favorite insect finally paid off and I brought Clement House some academic glory. It felt good that even just for a moment, everyone saw me as a champion and not just a simple farmer from a lost land.

I hope I made the Baron proud. I left my award in the main house for all to see.

I was pleased to see my friends enjoy some fun facts about bees. It was a very enjoyable morning and I was grateful for all those who arrived and brought or sent gifts! However, with reading so much about bees before the event, I do not want to hear about bees anymore in my life!

That will likely last exactly one hour until I reach the kitchen and hear the humming.

There were many things I didn't know about honeybees. Many, many things. Now I know. Thanks, Lady Mabelle (and happy birthday)! Now I wonder if the same knowledge scales up. I suppose there's only one way to find out for sure.

Hello, dearest Scholar -- would you like to hear my scandalous opinion of the moment, it's purely whimsy?

Excellent.

Should I ever abdicate my particular title or position, it will be to pursue my passion for being in theatre. Or, perhaps, to be a luminary's Champion. It would need to be terribly, loudly violet and dramatic -- no matter what the circumstance.

Been a while since I hauled my ass over to write a White Journal but with Calypso gone...

My niece was one of the finest people I knew. A true Malvici. Her... life fell hard on her in the end, but she died a true warrior's death - protecting her troops and destroying her enemies.

I only wish we could have mended the rifts between us. But somehow I think she kept widening it on her own.

May she be granted peace in the next life, where she may return as the warrior-general she was. I only hope it will be in a time of peace.

I was surprised when Klavdiya told me I had not been to the Archives since before the poetry picnic. The last month has proven to be a busy one, and I suspect the first month of spring will always be from here out. My usual duties to Eswynd and Saik, my patients and students, along with the twins' birthday and tending the gardens after winter have kept me with little time to rest.

The twins. Nothing prepared me for them getting teeth. I knew it would happen. But I did not know they would chew on my fingers. Or my jewelry. Or the dog's tail. Thankfully, Butterpup is endlessly patient with them. The cat on the other hand? She seems to have lost her interest in them now that the children are moving on their own and grabbing at things. The hall is certainly not a quiet place most days.
