Relationship Note on Mabelle

You are a force to be reckoned with, dear cousin. I am so proud of all of your achievements and accomplishments. I look forward to see what the future has in store.

Mariska. We have named our new daughter Mariska, and she is a joy. The twins do not yet appear to have any feelings about her; Butterpup has, like a good shepherd, already recognized her as part of the 'flock.'

This little lady is going to grow up with a blessing: Princess Natasha and Prince Romulius Thrax have agreed to be her saltparents. I pray that she gains an understanding of justice, a sense of honor, and the importance of embracing duty from their influence in her life.

Relationship Note on Macario

There are those whose paths I happen to randomly cross and it is often nothing more than a single conversation where we exchange a tidbit here and there and proceed to go on with our lives. Our paths diverging once more. When our paths crossed, I assumed the same would be the case. I could tell from the tone of your formal letter (which did nothing to dissuade me from the fact that you are a lawyer), you wished to host our first meeting, but I somehow convinced you to be my guest instead. I expected a lawyer and from the facade, that is precisely what I received. However, as I learned of your past, of your family's story, I was presented with the most unexpected twist of fate.

Now that we have crossed paths, they have become so entangled and intertwined, I cannot fathom diverting.

The last few events I've recently attended have been very interesting indeed. The Assembly of Peers for one has been entertaining. One never knows who might show up to air grievances or rabble rouse.

While I am sure that is not what our esteemed leaders and their Voices look forward to, I must say, they handle every situation with grace and wisdom.

I do not simply say this because the High Lord Victus Thrax is my patron. This does remind me to seek out a tutor to help him with his balance.

Old friends.. there is nothing like coming back to find old friends waiting for you. Its a reassurance that your deeds.. that YOU made a real difference to someone.

It seems bitter sweet to return to Arx. My duties in Oakhaven have been long overdue; I've trained many a huntsmen in my time at home since I've been gone. Whilst I was there, there was a twinge of sadness to leave behind what was in Arx. And now that I'm in Arx, I've that same twinge of sadness for home. However, my place is at my families side, Sword to Oakhaven, and I honestly wouldn't have it any other way.

There is much good I can do here as Inquisitor and Sword to my people. Not only that, but perhaps have a life outside training and fighting.
I just hope my Auntie Margerie doesn't read this and think I've some inclination to find a man. I'm sure she'll be knocking at my door if so.

Considered taking a patron then decided maybe focusing on fulfilling my current obligations should take priority. Let us see what another month brings before I contemplate doing anything actually reckless.

After many times now sitting in the Pravusi chair for the Assembly of Peers, I'm struck by the fact that one can never quite predict the tone of any of the sessions. They can be seemingly quiet and businesslike and then erupt into a frenzy, or they can be during tumultuous times and be a momentary source of calm and quiet.

I would tell most, dear scholar, that I prefer the latter. I find myself increasingly expectant for the former to rear its ugly head each time.

I've had some duties to attend to in Reveillon over the last few weeks. With another winter closing in, there was much to see to and fret over. The fall colors were lovely, even if accommodations out there are still very rough. I enjoy living out of a tent. It's humbling somehow, knowing there's only a thin bit of fabric between you and the elements, and curious or hungry wild life. It reminds a person of their true place in the greater scheme of things. It's easy to believe oneself invincible or more powerful than one actually is behind high, thick stone walls, like in Arx.

I look at where Highhill was when I first joined it, and I look at it now. With so much hard work and the joint forces of our families, we have accomplished so much. We've grown. Wyvernheart has created a name for itself, and I'm so proud to be part of it.

I am unsure of how to best approach the populace at times, the city is still all so new to me. Perhaps if I just continue to put myself out there eventually someone will find a need for me? Some events I was going to assist with hosting have been canceled or are up in the air, but due to the nature of current events I cannot blame anyone for such happenings.

I feel like it's time to get my all my nieces and nephews together. And of course over to the manor, for a sleep over. It seems like ages since I've them, and I'm more than certain Martino and auntie Eirene won't mind.

Should get Denica. She can help me. She doesn't know it.

Relationship Note on Tanith

I am sure that I never thought Tanith would be my midwife all those years ago when I learned midwifery at her side. I am relieved to have had her there to welcome my third child. Life has been a strange and turbulent journey, and there is much strife in the world around us, but the familiar comfort of a trusted person in a time of need is a balm for the soul. Thank you, Tanith, for welcoming my baby girl.

The year is almost over, scholar. While the weather is cold, I've sat by the fire. Whiskey in hand, while watching my son play on the rug. With the two dogs. I reflect. I ponder. I think of what has happened this year. Of what I've lost. But also what I've gained. You take the good with the bad, welcome the chaos. Because when it clears, you're left with the best.

To be clear, the duty of my position is to protect the right of the unpopular opinion to be heard. The personality that inhabits the role of Lord Tehom's Archlector may have personal opinions themselves, but the demands of the role are absolute. I condemn all heresey. The enemies of the Faith are my enemies. I will, however, be Tehom's Advocate as long as I hold the honour of the position.

The first part of the fundraiser hosted by the Ambassador Bahiya'al'mathali of the Eurusi Consulate and the Princes Kenjay of Redrain and Patrizio of Pravus were such a great success and such a pleasure to attend.

To see such immense skill and passion upon the sands and in the stands of my Hart's arena was so very exciting.

It is my greatest hope that this excellent show will be repeated and that all who fight will do so well and true, and the donations to help those in need generous.

I wish nothing more that to see that all involved are delighted and the fundraising more successful than ever.

I can only say that if you are not yet attending, you most certainly should be. It will be another triumph for all in attendance, I am certain.

Apparently eagles sulk? Or some such? I would never have guessed. Hopefully he's not too grouchy for my brother's sanity.

I met Princess Keely today, on a totally different note. She seems very sweet and I hope she is able to keep that as she grows into herself.
