Recently someone crossed my path at the Confessional of the Waves. They asked me if I got what I sought from my prayers. This struck me because so many people pray to ask for things. Simple blessings, simple good fortune. I myself am guilty of using phrases that bessech the gods because it can be so common place to do so.
Yet when I sit in prayer, and I know I'm not alone in this, I don't pray seeking things. I pray to share my choices and my reasons. I pray that I have helped the world and the people around me, and that I will continue to do so. I pray that I will make of myself the person I should be. I pray I will uphold the ideals of the pantheon, not because the pantheon need hold my hand but because I believe they are worth rising to.
I wonder if there is some line between what we pray for when on our own, and how we pray in our daily life. Bless a lantern, bless this harvest, bless this union, all the little blessings we invoke. I know they serve a purpose, but I wonder at how people balance asking for blessings against giving to the gods. Perhaps my own scale needs balancing.

Back off to Artshall I go to see my mother. She and I both miss each other very much, and I have yet to introduce her to Feodor. My description of him has only confused her. So! Maybe I'll be back soon, Arx. I'm glad I could help where I could in these troubling times.

Today was a very busy day. We have our orders for the upcoming battle. It is good to have some idea of what the future holds. I will do my commander and the House we serve proud.
Tonight I was able to go to the Golden Hart's Sip and Spar. I had found my way in at the tail end of the last one. This time there had been netting set up for archers to potentially take part. And we did. Myself, Lady Zoey Bisland, Dame Felicia Harrow, and Princess Echo Redrain made two teams. Myself and her highness on one against Lady Bisland and Dame Harrow. It was quite the challenging spar and I do hope to do it again. And apparently was well received by the crowd.
Her Highness and I made a good team, as did the Lady and Dame. The later did quite a fine job protecting the Lady Zoey as I sought to take her down. Being an archer, I know how devastating our blows can be on our fighters. So...it was good. I suppose if people wish to see something similar they will simply have to go to the next one.

Relationship Note on Echo
Life teaches a lot of things, one being that you can find a good friend in the most interesting circumstances. When Princess Reese was giving away things I went to get books and things for Percy and a few others. I ended up meeting Echo who offered to help me take things back. It was very sweet of her and I have found myself becoming fast friends with her. I know that my other friends will enjoy her company as well.
I hope to be able to introduce them soon. She has gotten to meet Alis already! I think she will fit in greatly with our little group of friends!
Also she made me an Elk charm after getting to see my Elk! It was quite sweet of her.

It's Spring! A time of rebirth, of hope... of light breaking through the grey of winter (yes, I love winter, I do.... but...). I have waited for the change of seasons, for spring to come for quite some time now. I have looked forward to seeing the buds appear on bare tree branches, for petals to begin to unfurl and grace us with the beauty of their flowers, and even for the sun to warm my cheeks. It is spring! And when I stop for a moment in whatever else I have going on to remember this... I smile.

This has been an interesting several days, I now find myself Warlord of Thrax. I am not quite like past Warlords, though my physical might and my tactical skill may rival any, I use my charm and my wit in cases that I imagine they normally would not.
I believe in Thrax military might, we will make it greater than any force known in the Compact! And because of such we shall keep its borders safe and secure for generations to come. We will act with respect, we will act with honor, but no mercy shall be found for our enemies and failure shall never be an option.
Tears in our wake, never at our wake.
