The Redrain affair was curious. There were accusations leveled and all that i felt afterwards with that I knew less than what I started with. Some information was revealed I already knew.. and others.. well.. let us just say there is much to be gained from curiosity. I've a few questions to ask.. Duchess Nightgold, and the Princess of Redrain, Valencia.

Attended a spirited single combat. The stakes were for a continuing spot in an ongoing combat tournament and the process was combat until the yielding. The one struck thrice before the other yielded. I do not mention the contestants by name because I'm sure that I would make some error in etiquette when referring to one or the other. Probably making three or four times the error by doing it the way I'm doing it. In any case, they both did well and showed courage.

I am in Arx, staying in luxury within a princely room reserved for Captains of proven loyalty to House Thrax. It is an honor on many levels, since I am no longer in the habit of making long voyages and was by most accounts a mediocre Captain even in my prime. Yet I am here and welcomed and look yet to contribute. It must be so. Those who are only a burden to their fellows are not encouraged to linger in my own land and I would expect no less here. There is work to be done on behalf of House Thrax, which will also benefit House Navegant. I am no expert talker but I can string a few words together. Besides, this blasted journal is longer already than anyone would have expected of me. By which I mean this culturally relevant and joyous ongoing writing project. I'm just not starting another piece of paper to do it up like that on. Pen down.

Relationship Note on Isolde
She inspires a readily apparent loyalty in those close to her, which hardly comes as a surprise. The Princess moved even me to buy a flower, and though I looked everywhere for roses, I couldn't find a single one. Oleander, is apparently the name of the blossom I settled on. Poisonous apparently, but I did advise her not to eat it, so I think it'll be fine.

Relationship Note on Ida
I have been a fan of Goodwoman Ida Ferron's for oh? about half a decade now. I first saw her fight when I was 18 at a boxing championship in a hamlet on the southern edge of the Telmarch. She was both showman, and an honorable opponent and just a joy to watch. I will admit I invited her to come to Arx to ply her trade so I could brag that my family and I bore weapons crafted by a champion pugilist. I have been nothing but pleased with how renowned her work has become in such a short time. She has even open her own shop and taken on enough work to take on apprentices. I could not be more pleased.

Relationship Note on Silas
Sir Silas is an honourable man. Honourable men are extremely exploitable, however, and so Talen will mourn his simple companionship when he inevitably gets skewered in the back for refusing to believe anyone would do such a thing to him. Though Talen had not actually managed to bring any southern tricky into either bout, the Sword of Lenosia fought and won twice against the Crownsworn fellow; first in the Tournament of Roses in a joust and later for unarmed combat in House Pravus' Decathlon.

Relationship Note on Nadia
I reached out to Lady Nadia Nightgold hoping to find an ally. You see based on the rumors of the terrible tragedy her family faced, apparently at the hands of Abandoned, I thought that perhaps there was a connecting between these fiends and those that caused the tragedy at Sanctum. We meet, we talked, and I did think there was a connection between the two attacks. I also believed we both agreed that it was too soon to speak of this to the public. Then I find out she announced what we discussed in front of the gods and everyone in some public reception she co hosted. I cannot be angry at her, that is not fair. It is my own fault for being a trusting fool and letting myself be taken advantage of.

Relationship Note on Alis
Princess Alis Valardin is young but has demonstrated that she endeavours to be a swordswoman of some renown. The knightess made no real impression upon him during the Tournament of the Roses, however, when faced off in the the Decathlon hosted by House Pravus, there was a clear improvement in her form. A vicious wound landed to Talen's face challenged his control of the fight and though the Sword of Lenosia bested the woman with brutal, outright sadistic manoeuvres, her performance certainly left an impression.

Relationship Note on Freja
Cousin Freja has recently joined us in Arx, and I'm glad she has. We share similar martial interests, and I always enjoy hearing all about her experiences in the field. She is honest and brave, and undoubtedly Redrain to the core. I hope she enjoys her time in the city, and has more opportunity to smile.

Relationship Note on Gareth
The Prince Inquisitor of Grayson seems a haunted man; he's haunted by the things that could be, the things that should have been, the state of affairs in the city, the things he might need know, and those he never should. I can only imagine how heavily duty weighs on someone in his position. How could it not? So many questions and no one with any exact place to point to begin. Many suspicions, many nods to old enemies, and many suggestions to possible new ones.

Girl who made Hammar's armor. Hammar wants to kiss her dirty face, but Hammar doesn't kiss people. Hammar thinks that Ida is a good cath for someone, she can make armor afterall. And she looks like she is strong for a girl, perfect!

Hammar whack Victus, but Hammar not win. Hammar has seen Victus a few times, he says a lot of mean words and Hammar thinks Victus does not like him, but Hammar likes Victus, he's big like Hammar and strong like Hammar.

I was surprise to meet someone even more irritable than myself, but then Fictus takes it to a whole other level. He seems more than eager in his attempts to make talking with him a pain. They nearly came to blows at one point when I asked him about Eugine, apparently that was a no go. Fergus is not really quit certain if Victus is a person he hates, or just someone to take in stride.

Hammar scared of Gareth, his face scary and he threatened Hammar! Hammar does not like Gareth, he wanted Hammar to kill monsters for Grayson family, but Hammar said no! HAMMAR WHACK! Gareth. Hammar tries to avoid Gareth, but Hammar always sees Gareth everywhere.

Hammar think Pretty, but Acacia scare Hammar just a little. Hammar want to hug Acacia all the time, but she told Hammar to stay out of touching distance. Acacia gave Hammar her honey cakes, they were very nice honey cakes.

Relationship Note on Freja
If there were one person on these grounds that I would do absolutely anything and everything for, Freja were that person. As a Champion I am asked to do a lot of things, including risking my life, but Freja would not even need to ask or to convince me of most things to get me to do anything for her. She is not made to survive the southern lands, much the same way I am as well. I feel as if I am needing to watch over her well-being very closely while we are in Arx.

Relationship Note on Eugine
When Fergus thinks of Thrax, he often thinks of tall, swarthy hard charging Pirates. Cue Eugine walking into the Traders Tavern one day. Firstly, Fergus noted that Eugine was wider than he was tall, and on top of that, Fergus finds out that he is boastful! Upon talking with Eugine, Fergus finds out the man is a General... A self-proclaimed arm chair General. The man looks as if he can barely walk, let alone lead men, and has no embarrassment in proclaiming he sits safely away whilst others are sent to their deaths.

Relationship Note on Jaenelle
One day Fergus gets a messenger from Princess Jaenelle that states simply. 'You are mine this week'. Of course a messenger from a Princess stating this is likely to get my full attention. Upon meeting and talking with the Princess, it turns out she had struck a deal with Freja to trade brothers or some such thing that makes sense to Princesses. Jaenelle is amusing to talk with, and with a face as angelic as hers, Fergus feels like he may need to protect her from life itself.
