Everyone should be pleased to know that I was finally able to catch up with Jaenelle! The last of my siblings that I had yet to run into since returning to Arx. She is lovely as ever, and her company is very uplifting to me. It would do everyone well to know her, she is worth knowing and deserves being appreciated.
Dear sister, here it shall be written so long as these records last, I love you, and I am proud of you. Though, that also extends to Valerius and Leona, if we don't all get together soon...I shall kidnap you all.

I find that the more I learn, the less I really know. Which brings up its own set of questions and theories about trying to learn more than I should, at some point, such certainly must produce diminishing returns! Alas, the things I think about while sipping scotch.

That stretch of land between the Oathlands and Lyceum was witness to a grand pursuit and a glimpse of how the Compact works. In that moment there were people, working together, to accomplish a goal. That goal was accomplished and then we realized, after the fact, that perhaps we should have slowed our pace enough to consider our actions. It was a valuable lesson to be learned, if one is willing to look at it as that.
It also taught another important lesson, I need to write to the Prince of Sanctum and offer him some tutelage on various shav'arvani dialects. Thankfully the supposed customary greeting that was learned wasn't an insult.
The hunt also taught us that Prince Talen knows exactly how to strike fear into a devout Oathlanders heart. With a joke.
We were quite fortunate to walk away from that hunt unscathed though and I'm thankful that because of it, I may have uncovered a name for my next daughter.

The High Lord of House Thrax certainly knows how and where to stick his harpoon. He earned those antlers that he's apparently set himself on the path of affixing to his helmet. He's also rather hilarious in his own endearing way.

It is not fine, dear individuals who skim through my whites, for spouses to bring home the severed head of some majestic twelve point - what does that even mean? - buck, drop it on the table in such a fashion that congealed blood splatters everywhere and stand with puffed pride stating that now Talen must call them their oakliness and look what he brought me home.

Now. Now I have to rethink the renovation of the shackles to include a twelve - seriously, what does that mean? - point buck mounted on a surface somewhere. Maybe I'll gore him with them and mount them both. Like the Trophy's in the Grimhall Lodge. I mean.. I did catch a High Lord. I can mount him on a plaque yes?

The Laurent's Tournament of Gloria has concluded and I'll be feeling the bruises of it for days. All to the good. I have had the great honor to cross blades with many of the finest warriors in this city in the past few days, and I only feel myself stronger for it.
All honors to my teammates: Princess Marian, Lady Jael, Sir Preston, Dame Felicia, Lady Veronica, Count Kael, and Sir Norwood. Though one of the Blue Team was not the victor, I'm proud of how we fought and feel we did Gloria good honors.
My hearty congratulations to Sir Thorley, who came out on top. I've helped the man practice some, and there's no knight who I feel would've deserted it more.
And, of course, good thanks to Duke Cristoph for putting this exhibition on. It was a fine way to pay homage to the goddess of war and practice together in friendship, on the eve of harsher battles.
Gloria guide our blades and shield us all, wherever we fight next.

Relationship Note on Itzal
I met my brother-in-law today! Itzal is a lot like Mae, I can tell already. That's probably why I liked him, despite the fact that the first thing he did was lie to my face and rudely dodge my punch to his jaw. If anyone has suggestions for how I'm supposed to treat a younger brother, I'd love to hear them. The closest I've had up until now is Mayir, and he's awesome, but I feel like I need to be filling some kind of specific role with Itzal.
And when did I become 'older' than people around me? I've always been the youngest. It's weird.
At least I'm not super old like Aureth and Fort.

After all this time, I finally had the chance to meet with my brother since he has come to Arx. I thought time would change him, harden him, but it seems his time away has only strengthened his enjoyment for life. I am almost positive between Leona, Valerius, and I, I might be the only Thraxian and our parents found the other three in a field.

Relationship Note on Cristoph
It was a wonderful Tournament to Gloria today, and it was run with exceptional skill. Duke Cristoph's event was a wonderful demonstration of skill to inspire and pay homage to Gloria. I brought all of my medical kits, remembering the bloodbath that was the last grand melee, and I for one was very glad not to be wrist deep in blood and viscera this time around. All the credit goes to the host, my liege, Duke Cristoph. To those who fought, well shown. I was proud of all of you and hope was renewed in the face of the challenges to come.

With all of the free for alls (that aren't really); and talk of drinking.. there should be a tour/march through all the taverns in the city to taste their specialties. Rum here, vodka there, whiskey over there. Everyone wins. And teams would be more a matter of making sure your mates get back to a bed.

As the wedding reception and raffle nears it's start, I'd like to clarify that you can still buy tickets. While some people did pre-buy via messenger, they will be for sale during the event itself. The drawing will be held at the reception's close and the winner need not be in attendance to claim their prize.

Lord Sigurd is always fun to talk to! I'm kind of dubious about his claims to be able to drink me under the table (Redrain pride is at stake!) but an enthusiasm for going out and drinking and having a good time is always welcome, especially with everyone so gloomy as of late! Hopefully he will be able to put his troubles with Dame Morrighan to rest soon enough.
