Arx has become something of an every changing interest - a maze to explore of both humanity and interests. I should never tire of it and why has it taken me this long to arrive and so little time to prepare. I am glad for the help I have and the alliances we are forming. We all must face what is ahead together.

Thank you old Seargent. The opportunity to cross blades with you was both exhilarating and constructive. It was a pleasure and an admonishment to be reminded that war is not as simple, nor as elegant as a duel can often be. Your steadfastness and tenacity throughout our entire match was nothing short of praiseworthy and made me realize that even my youth will not be a line by which to cling to for safety in the coming days.

We have seen some changes to the Society of Explorers. Promotions and some reorganizing.

I have purchased a bookstore! This is a momentous occasion, for me. I aim to turn it into a library and charitable endeavor to showcase local authors and help light the way for others. Proceeds from the books sold shall be split between the authors and the Faith.

Also, my husband has never brought me any dead things that weren't meant to be put in a pot and cooked. I mean, he did make that squirrel couch that still gives me nightmares, time to time, but he didn't bring that to me.

My sister seems thrilled to be in Arx -- there are no end of other explorers and travelers to speak with, to trade stories with, and I gather there's even an entire /Society/ of them that she plans to join, at Samantha's urging. I'm so happy for her that she's found her kindred spirits, though I can't help but worry -- I understand some of their number have died in recent excursions, or gone missing.
If childhood tales truly /are/ real now, as some keep telling me, it seems that those who explore the world would be on the front lines even more than we soldiers ever might.

Relationship Note on Samantha
I admit, I was concerned the marquessa -- Samantha -- might take it badly that relatives from some old offshoot branch of Deepwood showed up hoping to seek a better future in their ancestral line. But she's been absolutely welcoming, seemingly glad to have new Deepwoods around. I suppose she's lived the opposite of our lives in Grayridge; you could hardly set foot anywhere without almost stepping on someone else, but here... she must have been so alone. Two people -- and one child -- are not enough to make a lively house. I can only hope that Emily, Grady, and I can help her restore the Deepwood name.

Arx is so loud and bustling, with so many people from so many different fealties; it's quite unlike any other Crownlands city I've ever been to.
And the stories I hear! People talk of myths as though they've come to life and marched on the Compact -- and I'm told that's precisely what's happened. That children's stories are real. I don't know quite what to think of that, but it sounds like we'll need every able-bodied soldier we can muster for these battles to come, if even half of what I hear is true.

The Tournament of Gloria was a wonderful of experience with many amazing fighters. I was worried I let my team down by being the very first person knocked out of the fighting, but they carried on to win and I am honored by their resolve and that I could be part of their team.

Ever since baby Ivy was born I feel like I've disappeared, having that and business to deal with, while the banners are gathered. Fortunately, I've learned some better time management skills, I hope.
