The orders pile up; some of them expected, some of them not. Armor, blades, and yes, hairpins. Joke as I will at myself, they are popular; likely for fashion more than defense, but I will make sure if they need to, they might save a life.
Then a more curious request - I won't mention it here, as it will be a gift. But the light hearted often helps to hold the darkness at bay just as much as a sword, sometimes. And is more often overlooked.

There's much going on in the World, and I'm only now beginning to appreciate all that I do not know...
War is present and looming. Houses are fighting amongst each other. There's human conflict everywhere, but that's not the worst of it.
There's a darkness out there, one that's seeping in where we're not looking, and the more I start to understand the worse it looks from where I'm standing. I may not have done much up to this point, but I'll be damned if I stand by while this darkness threatens the ones I love. Time for me to stop focusing on the parties, and to take responsibility.

Anyway, you can all breath out a sigh of relief. Everybody got home safe.
So did the head of this stag after I dealt the killing blow. It's gonna look good going... somewhere. All and all a good hunt. Now we see if the 'dark prince' of the Lyceum holds up his bargain of calling me 'your Oakliness' throughout the Assembly.

I am not good with my staff. I am not particularly good with hairpins. I feel terribly guilty if I manage to actually land a blow. I fear I am not a good warrior, nor am I fated to be so. I feel this is a failing, somehow. That I should be at lest capable of defending myself. I just... cringe at the thought of doing harm.
