Elloise, delighted by her greenhouse and workspace, has been seized with the bright idea to bring the glass paneled ceiling and roof into the rest of the Leary estate. She was envisioning rooms with their ceilings removed, roof removed, with only the glass to stand between us and the sky.
I am envisioning rain all over my books.
It sounds as though it would be cold in winter, and hot in summer, and I'm concerned about the potential for leaks as well. But perhaps combined with some of the clever retractable roofs I've seen -- maybe there might be potential there.

I got invited to go hunt a shark! Honestly, that sounds horrifying. But, I am intrigued! I have been sailing for some years. I have seen some sharks, but never have I actively wanted to jump into the waters and stab it in the eye! Honestly, I don't think I have the right skillset to stab a shark in the eye. But, if we do manage to kill this beast, I will be able to take some of it's hide to add to a certain something I plan on making. I am not going to say what it is here, but I am excited to be a part of it!

I managed to get ahold of some lovely metal to play with! Goldsteel. It's so bright and so shiny! I have made blades for a few other people before. But, never a small weapon. I may have to toy around and see if I can make myself a dagger from this. I do intend on having a dagger forged of every metal I can manage to get my hands on! Sure, it is silly, but it is fun.

The Compact drives me mad more days than not, but there's no denying the great boon of wealth our loyalty has brought; timber, iron, grain, and silver have never been more plentiful.
Mayhap the coming Kinstrife will wipe it all away, as the coming and going of tides scours the shore, or mayhap our prosperity will endure for generations to come, the Wind cares not.

Does anyone like to dance? I had a thought to organize a ball, but it would be mildly disappointing if more than half the guests didn't even care to pry themselves out of their chairs. Worse, what if no one turned up at all?

Last night, Lady Snow left me a gift on my pillow while I slept. A half-dead bug, with a few last movements left in its legs. I screamed. The guards broke down the door. And my cat? She sat there, looking ever so pleased with herself.
I think she just wanted someone to open the door and let her out.
I am prone to wonder, is this what dog-owners deal with? Or do they just look at you, all happy like, wagging their tails?
