Sir Leo R. Limn,

Really? /Really/?

An interesting conversation with the King himself has led me to believe that there is truth in the saying that history repeats itself.

Or is it: if we forget history, we are doomed to repeat it.

Whatever the case may be, his Majesty believes that there is evidence that the War of Stolen Names may be repeating as we speak. This gives me something to work on, something to truly study and understand.

Learn more about the original War of Stolen Names and understand what happened and how and why, perhaps. Then, perhaps, something can be done about what is going on now.

Relationship Note on Fecundo

It's funny how things work out.

For so long, I knew my brother was the peacock in the family, showing off his feathers for all to see.

Then, there was the masq ball and my cousin, Duchess Grazia, lent me her peacock costume. I knew I would never hear the end of it from Fecundo. And, such was the case. He enjoys teasing me mercilessly about it.

The joke's on him, however. I won second runner-up in the costume contest. My prize? Leather armor.

He will still always be the true peacock in the family.

Relationship Note on Petal

I was so surprised to find a Crovane inspired bookcase while shopping in the city today. Thank you, Mistress Petal, for creating such a beautiful piece -- otter design and all!

Relationship Note on Iseulet

And Edain would know this all very well! Our brothers Vance and Valen convinced him to try it once, and then stalked him so they could stuff snow down his back during the attempt. Swear I heard the howl all the way from my room. Brothers are gross, but funny.

Yes, I realize he left out his personal experience for a reason scholar - and that is exactly why I shared it! Love you, bro!

Writing your name in the snow is easy!

Just stop being weird and use a stick to do it.

Relationship Note on Iseulet

I do know what you mean. That is why it saddens me to tell you that writing your name in the snow in such a fashion is a myth.

Not only do you need to drink truly impressive amounts of water to the point of severe discomfort, but once you have achieved enough pressure for a cotiguous stream, that pressure will be to great to guide with sufficient precision for the fate.

I am sorry to be a crusher of dreams but anyone that claims they have done so is, unfortunately, lying.

Relationship Note on Iseulet

I will never have the things I want, and being someone else would not change that.

Relationship Note on Nico

Nico and I came upon an unexpected windfall last night, and a debate ensued about how it should be spent.

I thought her arms could use an upgrade, but little did I know, my comrade has mercantile ambitions. And here I thought I was training a future Champion of Champions. Ah well. Perhaps she can be both.

Relationship Note on Iseulet

Reinventing myself wouldn't get me any closer to what I want. Neither would being someone else for a day.

...Unless, I suppose, it was a spectacularly powerful someone else, and a particularly well chosen day. Then, maybe.

I know you all know that I know you're all trying to be silly. It worked. I giggled!

I guess what I'm trying to ask is, if you could reinvent yourself, what would you make yourself in to even if it was just for a day?

I would definitely find out what it was like to write my name in the snow (if you know what I mean) to see what the big deal was about.

It brings me great joy to know that I can both bring people discounts on their silks that will be used in the latest fashion trends and also make a profit.

The brokers in the market have gotten to know my face for more than just taxation, too. That's always a bonus.

Aeterna and umbra prove to be the most popular so far. I have warehoused a good quantity for this week's demands.

I have been thinking. About choice and change.

How it can be a pleasure and a privilege to be a little lost. To be walking the path you have chosen and to know it is insufficient. Perhaps not a path to be left, but a path to be added to.

It can be a pleasure and a privilege to wake up and ask, what next? To ask, now what? To ask, what do I want? To ask, what do I need?

I have many times lifted the brush to something new. I have many times spoken with a close friend to realize I was dissatisfied. What next? Now what?

It is a pleasure and a privilege to explore. And, eventually, decide.

What couldn't I do? A little give and take. Some kind of balance would be necessary, I SUPPOSE. Also, why for only a day - why not have the ability to do so infinitely?

I would ask who the face belonged to and return it. Given House Thrax's current stances on flaying, I feel it prudent to avoid misunderstandings from holding a face that does not belong to you.
