Once again my cousin has brought a project to fruition to the great benefit of Artshall in the form of the Dire Bee Lounge. I haven't been able to stop in yet but I hope to remedy that soon. I heard they have ham.

Well it's back to business now I suppose.

If you're looking to ship, we've got the best fleet in town!

A hilarious quote by an old friend at the Golden Hart: "Well. Given up alcohol, what's next, join the Valardins? This is madness." I so laughed aloud!

I swear the number of people who live in a city by the sea who cannot identify a ship or a boat is mindnumbing.

Its been a rather entertaining few weeks! The legacy of bovine athletics continues, and I was given the chance to see how long I could stay on a bull.

I must confess this has been one of my favorite winters in Arx; eventhough, I have not done very much. I would hire a bard to describe my feelings if I didn't think that most people would find it mundane. Is there such a thing as boring drinking song?

Did I hear correctly that you rode a bull and won a competition to do so?

Where in the world would you ride a bull?

Though it is a while since I have been in the Capital city of the Compact, my time among the people of the compact is teaching much. A final trip made to Ischia and I return a new woman, ready to dedicate myself as a whole to the Compact and all of its ideals. I hope I'm able to speak as well as I write soon, but at least the customs are getting easier.

The Softest Whisper Anisha was very kind, spoke with a warmth and was very welcoming of me into their ranks as an apprentice. This is only a single step in a much longer journey but with luck, the city will never forget me this time. I will make an impression that is not forgotten any time soon.

P.S. The scholars have informed me that my last line sounds "very sinister" and warned me it may send bad impressions. I guess I am just clarifying I mean that I will be doing good things. Like whisper work, or doing business. I am also going to be visiting your shrines to try to understand your gods. I am told that writing in journals is pleasing to Vellichor, so I have already taken the first steps!

These past days I have been spending with the Count Blanchard in his lands have been quite edifying. Though Highhill is small at the moment, it is best to be prepared to manage the needs of baronies as well as one own's seat before the troubles begin to come.

Thank you for letting me act a fool while testing your bull helm. It definitely looks better on you. I'm exceptionally proud of the work my apprentices and staffers did on your armor while I was away. Always wear it in good health, my friend.

I've come home just in time! I've been received warmly by so many who have written to me upon hearing of my return. It has truly warmed my heart and I was not prepared for such a welcome. It seems I'm not the only Thornburn to come back to Arx! That's because we have that sibling connection. That mystical sixth sense... or some sort of nonsense like that. I don't really know if that's true. My mum has always said we're all connected by some fine, invisible thread. As long as she keeps filling our pantries with her baked goods and turning out toads in holes for us when we stop on by, I'll believe anything she says.

It wasn't easy to leave but have been blessed to have my family and Ferrando around to care for Carson. My beautiful Cari is six now and I can't believe how big she's grown. We have a lot of catching up to do. She's excited to have me home, too. We've got some big plans on the horizon and this is only the beginning.

To the future!

I-if Aion is the creator, and his Dream is our reality, does that mean Aion; who is clearly a drunk too drunk to wake up, you know? Does that mean, if he wakes up, The Dream ends? Gasp. Hail to the drinkers, yeah? Gotta drink the drink for the true drunk to sleep it off, and dream The Dream...or...something.

I have truly fit a year's worth of experiences into the last few weeks. Opportunities have been jumped at. Connections have been made. Things thought lost have been found. And maybe I'll eventually talk about all of that.

Right now, I want to focus on my gratitude. I am grateful to my wonderful friend who has stuck by me and never judged me for the things others might be unkind about, who seems to think I chose her as patron - but really she took a chance on me as protege, Lady Thea Malvici (who needs to throw around her Droungos General of Southport title more often - did you know she's General of the Phoenix Brigade? She is). Without her, there would have been no Golden Buckle Tourney to brighten spirits today.

Also, the tourney was made all the better by the contributions of Duke Harlan Ashford and Princess Valencia Velenosa. The duke provided the bull and animal handlers, while the princess offered her venue and made sure modifications tot he space were done in a timely fashion. Further, I need to thank Master Apollo Oakwood for his kindness in donating the door gifts and the prize - an ostentatious belt buckle. Further thanks goes to Lady Eirene Riven for coordinating medics that were onsite. Having such amazing help from all corners makes me feel like I must be doing something right.

Reader, if you see any of the riders out and about in the next few days, you should know that they are all amazing. They tried something new! They were brave and good-humored and impressive: Lady Thea Malvici, Lord Drake Wyvernheart, Princess Macda Grayson, Lady Neilda Saik, Mistress Asralyn, Archlector Hamish, Count Orrin Seliki, Count Domonico Magnotta, Scout Rowenova, and Lord Michael Bisland - with special congratulations to Lord Bisland for his astonishing win from lasting 19 seconds on the bull!

Lastly, thank you to everyone who came out to spectate. I'm so glad I had the chance to entertain you today. It was good to see so many in one place. A nice reminder of what it is that we aim to protect.

I enjoy time spent with my cousins - it reminds me of a youth I left behind for duty. Yet, i find each time it also reminds me how much I have changed, how like an ivy transplanted from a forest to a house, I grow just as before yet to a different shape. A different form beneath it all.
