Effective, though, I will grant you. At least from my experiences of lovable yet infuriating cousins who have perhaps done as much to me. Multiple times. But it is mostly just dreadful.

Sometimes you confide in someone. You never know why you do it, and you wonder if you made a mistake in the end, but your heart is lighter for it. They tell you something in exchange, sometimes, or offer to help you with what worries you. Always look for someone who earnestly seeks to help you. On the other hand, I ran out of whiskey, and I'm still pouring over these military strategy books.

That is certainly one way to look at it, my Marquessa. Another perhaps is that those who can be bought owe all of their loyalty to coin, rather than to any one person or organization. In that regard you can at least be assured that so long as you have the most coin, you too have the most loyalty.

I feel like I've found a new stride in my forging. I like to think I was a good smith before, but now I feel like habit has turned into something akin to intuition, and even the difficult bits of forging are coming just that little bit more easily than they did before.
I find myself eager to see what I can make.
