There are so many things here that are overlooked. For instance, has anyone noticed how often handkerchiefs seem to be caught in the wind and blown into corners? Just up, up, up and away, until found by someone who just happens to look in that corner. Really, it's something to wonder at.

Armies have been mustered, and soon will have their marching orders. We will face a massive force, the likes of which have never been seen before. It is not fear I find myself feeling, though, but rather relief. Relief that the waiting is almost done, that we will be striking against our enemies rather than preparing to do so. Drills and inspections are all well and good, necessary things to ensure that we are in fighting shape. They seem to fall short, however, when you know that there is an enemy out there, waiting to be fought. I look forward, along with the Grim Legion, to giving them that fight.

I was given the chance to read cards for a noble born today. Another step closer to getting myself established as a worth while fortune teller in the city. With enough time I hope I am able to show them and the world this gift. Just need a bit more time to show my skill. One step at a time.

Well, the outreach work in the Lower Burroughs appears to be going well. I do hope such matters are concluded soon. There is much to be done to make certain that those in such areas are better educated. In such, lies a better future for all.

Sometimes this happened that you are not expecting to and last evening was one of those things.
After a lot of thought and speaking with Archscolar Bianca and Brother Driskell I decided to join the scholars.
Yes I know I am sure you are asking why the Baron Admiral is joining the scholars and wishing to work my way up to become a Disciple of Vellichor.
It is as I feel my path and where I need to be, there is much to come in the future and I will make sure that not just myself but others are ready as well.

It is a rather simple thing for me to devote time and attention to observing the Silent Reflections.
I am in the Shrine of the Thirteenth quite regularly and have always observed them in truth. I know what sends them to that fate and wonder about it now and again. Not what they betrayed to become what they are, but what it is to be what they are. What do they think? What do those who may be Oathlander born feel and believe about a life lived in Tehom's temples. It may not matter, it does not change the nature of their lives but I still wonder.
I have conflicting feelings of my own about them, about the path to becoming what they are, but they are not for the Whites. Here I will add only this.
What I do not know He does. What I do not see He sees. Both regarding Silent Reflections and Scholars and regarding everything else. He is there with all of us, whether that brings one comfort or discomfort in understanding. It is clear which it brings me.

Relationship Note on Calypso
It feels as though so much has occurred since last I wrote. Do other people sometimes have that feeling? That so much has occurred that you do not even know where to begin? To combat that, I have decided to pick a focal point. That focal point? The Ministry of Defense.
It was a great honor to accept my promotion within the Ministry of Defense to Commander a short time ago. I feel as though I have grown significantly as a leader since coming to Arx, and I look forward to growing more.
Which brings me to the next point that humbles me so. I have accepted General Calypso Malvici's gracious offer of patronage. Through clasped hands, I hope to be a pupil that makes her proud. Someone that strengthens the Compact. A student that inspires those around me to continue to learn and become better people, no matter their current place.

I am so happy everyone had such a good time at the painting exhibition, and all tried their best! There was some excellent creativity in the room. Remember, if you would like to offer your works to Jayus, please send a messenger to the Shrine, and we will gladly commemorate your work.
I have spoken to Nathan to keep a better eye on the people who are in charge of the wine. Next time we might even have some for people to take home! If you still need a prayer book, you are more than welcome to stop in the shrine and take one.
My thanks to all the help I received in setting up the event: Sir Tovell and Master Caspian, you did an excellent job with the tarp. Also, to my those who helped with the event itself: Mistress Hana and Master Fortunato, you both were a credit as well. Baroness Lucita, you had lovely music for us as well. Jayus smiles upon all of you for your assistance!

I feel as though I've spent this last month astride a horse, riding from one end of the Grayson lands to the other. First to the Twainfort to raise our armies, and then out to our Barons and our bannermen, to raise theirs. From there west -- first to Bastion, in support of the fealty as a whole, and then on to Pride Hall, which I have not seen in nearly a decade's time, to speak to my peers sworn under the Bislands. I had forgotten what it was to see the western mountains, their great peaks stretching to the sky.
It was a pity we did not have time to climb their heights and cross into the Oathlands proper, which I have never visited, to perhaps visit the Telmarch that has been home to so many of our friends. But alas, Arx -- and the long ride back to the eastern shores -- was calling.
Still, it was more of Arvum than duty has allowed me to see in ages. I've called on what seems to be every landed lord or lady in the Crownlands, met their people, spoken to their soldiers. I am stiff, and sore, and very, very tired. But I am happy -- not only because of our success in raising so great a force to meet our enemy, but because it served as a reminder of exactly what, and more importantly who, we are fighting to defend.

Thoughts on rubies
Of all the stones that show up on weapons, rubies is the most prevalent. It could be the blood red color that causes people to choose this stone for adornment. No other stone comes close.
Seasilk Dying Patterns
I speculate that seasilk dying patterns could be used on steelsilk or fireweave. I cannot afford to experiment with such materials, but as of now I expect if successful that would make the hardened materials even harder to recognize in casual wear. One wonders what would happen to other textiles.
Making mirrors
All standard designs for mirrors either come from a polished metal or the use of a layer of glass. I'm left wondering if there are other ways that mirrors are crafte, beyond just a still pool of water or some ice with the right weather.
