It's a good day to be able to watch my nephews take in what they have been learning and put it to good use. It also was good to know that Tregva and Violeta were on top of the small diversion that was required within the city market to whisk children to their proper locations.

Roofus has been leading me all about the city on walks lately. Dear reader, know that if I ever offended anyone by bringing my dog somewhere, it was very probably not intentional.

It seems I have acquired a tutor who says she can help me be a better general. I recall her telling me some of her story but clearly I do not know enough of it. It seems I will have ample opportunity to learn more.

I like having goals, Scholar. Beating Ian Kennex up at the training centre is a worthy goal to have, I think. If nothing else, I want to see the look on his face when I manage it. Yes, I said 'when' - I'm not old enough to have slowed down that much.

I do hope your souls are found to be in perfect condition and there is nothing weighing too much upon it. If there is, please don't think twice about reaching out. I will listen and I will only offer advice if it is asked for. We all must travel our own paths, but it does not mean we cannot lean on another.
I have been thinking about trust. Is it not an exquisite sort of thing? If you really break down the thoughts of it. There is so much caring and hope that is cast out when one trusts another. It should always be respected. However, sometimes through our actions, decisions, words, or even our inactions we break that trust. What is it that we do to repair it? Is that not how the heart wonders. For a heart wound is the worst sort of wounds. I would say time and compassion leads us there. However, we must also understand that it will never again be how it was before it was broken. The people are never the same. That hurts my heart. There is always a shard that we hold in our hearts, as they never fully mend from broken trust and betrayal.
I caution all be wise with words and actions as they have a ripple effect on lives around us. Sometimes we do not realize the things we put in motion we cannot take out of motion. Or we are unwilling to do what we must to stop a boulder already rolling.
Be the wonderful beings that you are and as always be kind.

Once again, I find myself in the city of Arx. Dear reader, it has been far too long. While I love my dear, noble, ever-interesting family, I will also love a bit of time away from them and from Graypeak. A bit of change should be refreshing.
I will very much like to see how the city itself has changed in my absence. Perhaps I might meet a friend or two to help me re-acclimate? I could certainly use one. And a protege, if the opportunity presents, and then it's been far too long since I found a good tailor, or a jeweler, and as much as I love my Banda, hearing a new bard might be nice, and...

I am kept busy with the family library and that which I found at the Golden Hart. It is a pleasure to spend a few hours in the garden with a good book, perhaps with a crisp glass of wine on hand, or in the plush seating of a public space. Certainly more comfortable than between cramped stacks (though, I admit to enjoying that on occasion).
Outside of this I am preoccupied with a project. The idea is still in its infancy, but I believe I will take the first steps in the coming days and see what life I can draw from the arts scene here.
