Relationship Note on Medeia

Some days I wish I had your grace to ease through social dealings with grace. Though usually I instead prefer to hide somewhere with a few books to read, and a sketch pad. I'm reminded after today - you have a gift.

Relationship Note on Piccola

She seems to have a purpose and a direct way to getting to the point of what she wants without the real banter that can go on in conversations. I like her for this, leaves more time for doing actual work.

A morning at the Blackshore event, and it was a huge success for them. I've learned that Arxians love games, and even someone as socially inept as me can somehow find a place in the social circle.

In a whirlwind of talking there was talk of my hand, I saw a brief glimpse of softness from someone with a very strong personality, and even addressed positively by a Princess. My biggest takaway from the event - Thrax knows how to party.

I made a beautiful collectors coin for the Blackshore party, I rather liked the gaming night. It is always nice to have a party of such turnout. Thank you everyone who came.

The medic face off. I have no words except how fun it was. Aunt Eirene did a great job pulling it off and I learned what I should probably work on regarding myself. Now to scrub this blood--I mean jelly from my hands. Congratulations to Lady Azova, Professor Orick, and Lady Lethe on your winnings.

Relationship Note on Odin

I met Lord Odin Eswynd in the training centre and had a small spar with him. He is not bad at all but clearly could do with some more practice and combat drills.
His equipment did put him at further disavantage as well but in warfare you are seldom matched with an equal opponent.

Regardless, I believe he has the potential to be very good indeed.

It's time for new armor. This that I wear has the scratches and dents of a dozen fights that won't truly mend now. And I've gained a little weight if I'm to be honest. I'm thinking brigandine this go around. I've written Mistress Eithne to see if she has the time; she was the best and probbaly still is.

I was speaking to a number of Arx's folks. I have been sought to support in integrating the newcomers to the compact, as I did once before, following the Silent War. I will strive to do so well; the Lodge will be in much need of new support and hands

Dearest Death, Mother of Beginnings and Queen of Endings,

Hello. It's Abby. Hope you've had a nice day today.

I've been away for a bit. Or quieter than usual, I guess. Been on the road here and there, visiting some parishes around the Crownlands. A priest told me I should really get a nicer wardrobe if I'm going to be on the road and preaching at the same time. He had a point, the boots were getting tough to walk on. So I asked around if anyone might know a tailor who might work with linen and wool. I was shocked by another's generosity when they delivered to me a neatly wrapped bundle of aeterna. Free of charge, with the only caveat that they one day get to see me in the final product.

The dress is stunning. The aeterna is the purest white I've ever seen. Reminds me of winter Artshall. It never stains either, perfect for long treks or when cleaning the shrines. Although the spider webs do still cling, but I'm unsure we'll ever invent a fabric that can circumvent that.

It's been a good few weeks. I'm happy to be back in the city.

I went to a party today and met some people. The party itself was beautiful, and some of the people were so friendly.

Some of the people reminded me why I stayed secluded in a castle on an island far away too.

That's life, I suppose.

I went to the soiree, let me tell you, the food was amazing. I've stuffed myself. They were all playing games I didn't rightly understand, and I did a terrible job introducing myself, there are so many more people here than I'm used to. Anyways, if I keep practicing I might get better. And the coin and box were pretty cool too.

These past weeks have taken a turn I could not have dreamed of. I have not found my family, though I know they exist. What I have found are those willing to help me grow into someone better accepted by the society of Arx and stand out less. Stand out less in the areas where I wish to. I will not give up some of what I have from before, like the style of my clothing. That has been mine for three decades.

I have taken on an apprenticeship at Whisper House. I don't know if it's fully the right path for me, but they have all been welcoming and for now it is my choice.

My choice.

Such a weird thing to right. Or even think.

Relationship Note on Valencia

I cannot help but notice how often Resolute and I end up over at Princess Valencia's Golden Hart. It's not just a matter perhaps of finding a comfortable place that's out of the horrid wind that howls through the city streets in the depths of winter, or how it makes the snow get everywhere under one's cloak - it's the warmth and graciousness of her company, and the enjoyable conversation. Seeing how she makes all who come through her door feel welcome, and tries to best meet the needs of those under her roof, and seeing the joy on her face each and every time said guests are delighted.

This world would be a far better place, were there more people like her highness within it.

Relationship Note on Iseulet

-- The Marquessa of Estroch --

She lies on the beach in the moonlight,
her eyes are sapphire like the water of her seas.
in the darkness they flash, shining bright,
she is lush, waiting to be explored and seen.

She sleeps on her island,
and stops being herself.
She is free of the land,
she dances, like a sylph.

The vastness of the sea reaches,
and flows through her hair.
It is the color of beaches,
so blonde and fair.

So far from her origin shores,
the sun rises and the moon descends.
She reaches for desire and something more,
And in visa versa, the cycle never ends.

The new jade moon tea house is equisite. I loved the carvings of the fatastical creatures. I can see myself spending a lot of time there, paticulary as I didn't even get the chance to see the garden. While the others enjoyed wine, princess Damiana and I were given spice infused juice. it gave me quite the eneergy boost and could become a habit which i don't think will do anything to curb my study obsession

Arvum belongs to the Gods, and we are but strangers and sojourners to them.

So it is that a refugee, fleeing the unfathomable familiarity of oppression and indignity, is as much a foreigner to the Compact as we are to the Gods. To them, our lives are but fleeting. To the stone, we are frail and soft; to the earth, limited; to the sea, weak; and to the wind, nothing. What matters to the Gods is faith; what should matter to us is respect for ours. We are the same; we present to the Gods as the same; and so long as they yield as the same are we kin in spirit.

Blood is blood; bone is bone.

The snow continues to come down without respite. As I've told others: the weather itself hardly offends me, but it's the wind down the streets of the city that leaves Resolute and me pining for summer. Even with the likelihood of what greater difficulties are waiting with the turn of the weather, I can't help but long for the end of this interminable snowfall.

Relationship Note on Desma

My cousin is home! And it's like listening to myself when I first arrived in the city. But oh cousin dear, you just wait in see. You just wait!

I'm so glad you're here. I can't wait to see how far you've come in your training, to test it. To test your boundaries. Maybe even teach you what my brother doesn't. And to have a few drinks and catch up. That comes first. We have a lot of catching up to do. The amount we DID do, just wasn't enough!
