Relationship Note on Killian
Late in the evening I was called to the House of Solace because there was someone in need of healing. I went about my work as I often do, focused on the task at hand, and while I was tending the Lord who was most injured, a name surfaced that drew my attention away from repairing damage. Ashford. I have been in Arx just over a year now, and to be fair, my life has been full of so many things, but to think -- I finally met (sort of) those from my father's family. Erik Wyrmguard, born Erik Ashford, brother to Larian and uncle to Barton. It is amazing the paths that the gods craft for us. My father and I were never close. He spends much of his time away from my mother. The joke was, as children, that we could mark the number of times they were in the same place by the later arrival of a sibling. Granted, I am the youngest of seven, so one would think they were passing fond of one another? Who can say. Still, I am grateful to the gods that I was available to tend to Lord Killian and Lady Sorrel's injuries. I am grateful that I finally laid eyes on relatives that also dwell within Arx. Hopefully in the days to come I will have the opportunity to get to know Lord Killian and Lady Aislin better.

I'm hard pressed to think about anyone tougher than northerners, a single winter is usually good enough to kill or scare off the weakest ones. Then I met these stubborn fucks from the southernmost edge of arvum.

What performances do people prefer to watch when an acting troupe rolls into town? The last performance I invited others to accompany many was most splendid -- their recitation of the Canticles of Gloria and swordplay were a marvel to witness but nothing compared to their dragon. Truly forbidding.

I've joined the Vellichorian Academy. I've been studying the law for 20 years but I am a greenhorn scholar in so many new ways. It is good to see my thirst for knowledge is shared with so many in Arx. I feel like I've entered a new phase in my life.

Relationship Note on Valencia
This Princess is the epitome of charity and generosity. Her event tonight was glorious, as all her events are. The catering was magnificent, the people there interesting. Valencia herself inspires me in many, many ways. Arx is better for having her in it. I hope that someday I might also be a similar light within our fair city.

She works so hard to be strong. She keeps busy helping other people. Answering their questions, supporting their work. She always seems to know a little bit of what's going on - she may not know details, but she knows who's working on what. She is a friend and a valuable knowledge base, but I have to wonder what she does that's just for her? Perhaps Dame Marra would know, but if she does, Marra's not telling.

So much faces us now, as a whole. The Compact is beset on all sides and all we can do is look into the heart of evil and throat-punch the damn thing. We've got our work cut out for us now, and I have to admit I kind of wish we could just attack without worrying about all the other implications. Dreams and portents and signs and weird shit. I hate it, and I want to stab all of it too.

I have glanced at my nephews journal's and seen the most alarming comment that he hopes that his wife's goat will stay away from me. Is this a common fear in Arx? Are the local pets and creatures so poorly trained?
Still, I would be rather surprised by such an occurrence. Young Lady Wyrmsguard when I met her, she has become formidable in her new station. You are somewhat softened by marriage and motherhood, but I believe there is strong oak beneath that surface that will bolster our family in the years to come. A misbehaving pet seems something she would take in hand rather well.

Relationship Note on Morrighan
A pleasant woman with a one-track mind, but I think her heart's in the right place. We'll be working together for a while I think, as we have common goals. I wonder what this means? She has such a restless energy. But I approve of her willingness and desire to set things on fire. At least the right things, anyway.

Relationship Note on Kael
I know that peacefully turning family responsibilities over to Kael was the correct thing to do, but one cannot help a certain fluttering in the stomach when such things are done. Neither of us had a lifetime of training for the duties we would be asked to undertake, but the possibility always lingered over my life. He seems to flourish here, though. I am pleased to hear of the friendships and connections he has forged. Let us hope that my presence bolsters his confidence in the days to come.
