Relationship Note on Cassima
The genealogy of Compact noble Houses is a complex thing, and I've many cousins I've not had the pleasure of meeting. Lady Cassima is one of them, and one I hope to know much better in the days to come. She seems sweet and smart and entirely good company to drink with. Next time, I will have some of my favorite contract footnote jokes prepared.

It seems weird for me to write such, but I guess it is common place, and if our history is to be preserved I suppose this is a necessary step in keeping it. I must say, few people have impressed me as much as Lord Ian Kennex, be it his companionship in drinking, his wise discussions on strategy, or his amazing skill in combat, and I do mean amazing, the man is a great friend to have.
I just hope he forgives inhaling whiskey, my fault! Smiling pigs do catch people off guard.

Being on this side of the birthing process, I didn't realize how traumatizing it could be. Catching babies is no joke, and they come out all gross and -not- pink and for a little bit, you wonder if your sister didn't give birth to a squalling, cheese-coated lamb. But this wasn't the case, and I have two perfectly adorable baby nieces. Eleyna's tits are going to be as sore as my ass after rearranging Leta's clothes, and -she- will have no let up I'm sure. Unless she has a wet nurse, which... Gods, I'd have loved that when I had my cubs. Can you imagine? Being able to sleep the whole night while someone else grabs your baby and feeds them, and you can sleep the whole night? I mean sleeping the whole. The WHOLE night.

It has occurred to me that I may have a bit of a reputation for having a good time. I must admit there are worse things to be known for! I find a strange delight in entertaining others and myself, after all, if we die soon, we might as well live a little now!
Between all of the meetings, the drills, talks of strategy, bickering and drinking, it's nice to lose yourself in laughter, good for the soul! Perhaps it is part of my charitable nature, who knows!
A word of wisdom, never take yourself too seriously. Seriously, do not do such, it helps no one and often burns bridges.

So much time spend with the Silent Reflections last week, and now I'm traveling all across The Crownlands to garner support for my liege. Will there ever be a respite I wonder? I hardly have time for managing my house. Thankfully Ariel is doing well to pick up the slack.

Apparently, hairpins are highly sought after, if only for decorative purposes. I've got a number of ideas that I think I'll craft, to see if there's interest in them. The ones I've made so far have sold without complaint, or haggle, and have come with a bonus in some cases. Seems better than wasting metal on tools and weapons people don't want, anyhow.

Attended the Glittering Gala, which in itself was an experience - if only for the sheer number of people, and the grand effort put into the displays for all to see. I tried my hand at a gambling game - and lost, but it was fun all the same. And my numbers were not called for the raffle, which is perhaps unsurprising.
Turns out it was a wedding reception for Lady Monique and Lord Corban; which was likely a far more festive way to go about things, though it seemed not all were pleased by the revelation.
The challenge issued by Lady Sorrel was surprising, but proper, from what I heard after. Though the attempt to continue after apology was issued was, perhaps, unwarranted. I don't pretend to know her reasons, but she has a strong reputation for being very skilled with her blade. A shame she likely needs not another.

My good Lady Monique Telmar (how good that feels to write publicly now) has gone through and thanked all who need thanking. As with so many things, the Glittering Gala was the culmination of efforts of so many different people. I am grateful to all of them.
