Relationship Note on Preston
I'm not always at ease with the Orthodox members of the godsworn. I've lived all my time in the Compact in the Crownlands and feel my relationship with the Faith might've been very different if I'd bent the knee among the Valardins. During my time with the Templars, though, I've come to respect Sir Preston's dedication and commitment to Gloria's ideals deeply. The losses suffered at Stormwall were heavy all around, and were felt starkly among the Swords of the Faith. The task ahead of him is not an easy one but he shoulders the burdens of it ably and without complaint. I hope I can be of service as one of Gloria's disciples in the rebuilding and honoring of those Templars who fell.

Relationship Note on Gwenna
I would like to say that UNLIKE my cousin Gwenna, I am weird, slow, and very good with a spear. Oh. And that I smell! HAH! Gwenna would make a great leader and mom, and you men would be LUCKY to have her.
Or not lucky. Cause if you don't marry in to become a Redrain and she hast to leave the family, I am probably gonna glare at you during dinners for all time, and make sure you have to spar me again and again for years to come, and make sure you get a lot of bruises every time.
So. In other words: Gwenna is GREAT, and you should want to marry her! If you make her not a Redrain, I will make wage quiet, grumpy, growling GRRRR at you for years to come.
But she is worth it.

It is hard to put to paper what an extraordinary time I had at the garden party and tea event. While I sometimes consider myself vaguely eloquent and with an abundance of words to use, most of them almost fail me now. I will try to capture what, truly, will be treasured memories.
I laughed like I haven't for a very long time. It felt really good. I spent time with some of my dearest friends (Princess Cassima, Lady Fianna to name just two) and family (my brother Artur, my cousin Princess Elgana), as well as made the acquaintances of some truly wonderful new people in Princes Gareth and Barric Grayson, and Princess Sabella. With the potential for new friend I have yet to be introduced to by Sir Jordan Ober.
Plans for monthly social gatherings have also been hatched, which I am greatly looking forward to. I may have a new future sparing partner and I was nearly not-really murdered. What would a true Redrain party be if there were not some sort of sharp object involved? A corgi in a sweater arrived just as I was departing. Truly.
Redrain tea parties are the best tea parties! Not that I am biased by any means. I can hardly wait for the next one. Mistress Valery, Lady Fianna, and Duchess Ann truly outdid themselves and deserve great praise for the event.

Relationship Note on Joscelin
The Guildmistress of the Crafter's Guild is a pleasant, charming woman with an excellent sense of humor. She clearly understands the difference between art for art's sake and art that pleases, and the range between. We had an excellent afternoon conversation and I'm glad to know her. And she's the first to help my plans for what I hope is a fun evening at the Deepwood Manor. All in all, a wonderful first meeting indeed.

Marius and I have returned from Greenhaven. While I truly enjoyed the quiet time with Myrddin and shall forever treasure the precious moments of his childhood, I have missed my family and friends in Arx. My heart was uplifted as we approached the city once more. I do feel so out of touch though.

Why does rebuilding take so long, when the acts by which it is needed can happen in such a short period?
This is something I have mused while at the same time arguing the point that for us to lose something dear to us, we must have first invested into it, be it relationship, or home, or any other thing that we cherish. And yet even then, it is taken, set ablaze, cut down, all of it can be, so final, so swift.
To those who are aiding in the relief and rebuild efforts, I commend you. Such actions are a balm to those who find it impossible to do anything at this conjecture.

The Princess Alarissa Thrax has given us a great welcome gift that will grace the courtyard of our home and mean so very much to us in its completion. It was not only generous but a grand gesture that the Marquis and I shall never forget and are not like to when Baroness Skye has completed her work.

My heart, how different Arx is. Far more opportunities and efforts to aid others can be found here but I miss the scent of the sea from the Keep windows and likewise the rolling hills of the isle. But there are things I am sure I will come to love here and treasure all the more.
May our family grow and prosper beneath Gild and Lagoma and may we continue to bring prosperity to Harthall with Mangata's blessing. I am looking forward to that which we can make together here.

So we come, so we shall remain until Mangata and Gild call us home. I feel for now that Lagoma's blessing will be upon us and we shall have our children within the city, raise them on the commerce and trade, the joy and laughter, and the strange, yet wonderful sights that the city has for us.
It is a time of new beginnings and I can think of no one other than you whom I would start this chapter with.

The fight with Caspian was popular, far more people were in attendance than I expected. I hope it was a suitable rite to Gloria. I don't normally get asked to help in those, but I felt it was a good cause and Caspian is a good fighter. I could think of few reasons not to participate.

Allow me (why, thank you) to offer an unasked for series of suggestions on how to deal with anyone that attempts to apply unwanted social attention:
1. Find them.
2. Contact the Voice of their House and have their higher rank peer verbally knock them alongside the head with good sense and etiquette. Or literally. Until the individual obtains a clue on how to behave. Unless they are a commoner. If so --
3. Search out a faction they favor and follow the suggestion outlined in the second point. If someone is acting like a grubby-handed greedy child, they ought to be fucking scolded like one.
Or...
1. Hang them outside of the highest window of Saik Tower (or any other tower, truly - the taller the better) by their ankles.
