Of late I have made more of an effort to go for walks within the city, especially in the early morning, noon, or mid-evening times when other duties have waned or do not yet call. I confess that for most of my life, walking was not a pleasure of mine, not when I could settle in with another book--whether an old friend or one newly discovered.

It is not terrible.

And I have made some enjoyable acquaintances, though I wonder if it was quite as enjoyable for them as I am not the most social of butterflies; they did not seem to mind and nobody took offense.

I wonder where others like to wander for a contemplative or enjoyable walk, or if they would enjoy someone to join in with them, for a little while. If anyone has any suggestions or would enjoy such a task and finds this journal, it would be interesting to hear from you.

It's been difficult.

The concept drawing is golden, of course it is, but as always it's the testing - and implementation process that's the best. Worst. The borst, which is a little of each. I figured out the cranking mechanism - finally! There wasn't any strain on the bow once the bolt is locked into place - but! But the loam still doesn't have the proper consistency to maintain the molded shape of the bolt. Needs a spine - clay? Dung? Something that will hold shape when dry, but can provide fertilizer once they've been watered.

The vegetable seeds (green peas for the sake of this experiment) at the tip of the bolt work just as well as I thought they would, but I would also like to - (requires MORE TIME to plan) - compose tips loaded with wildflower seeds that will release in a spray once the bolt is loosened in freshly tilled soil. Hopefully I will have a full set of seeded bolts to test by the time it's time to start attending the blessings of the fields for spring planting.

Imagine how much easier it could be.

The appearance of perfection causes envy.

As you rise in power - in glory - in notice on your chosen route through life, you will notice those eyes - the ever watching, never blinking eyes of your audience. The attention will then turn to you. In that case, you should definitely take your bow - but do remember that you not take all the credit. Be aware not to appear too perfect, it's important for your audience to believe you - to see the attainable within; a silver-edged ribbon of hope to tie a future on. Be approachable. This means when needed, you should sparingly admit to shortcomings and acknowledge faults.

Only the gods and the dead should ever be considered perfect -

Relationship Note on Zakhar

A couple of days ago, Zakhar had me over. He's teaching me to cook one of his soups. There's something about his food, and I asked him if he'd teach me how to cook something warm and comforting that I can make when I'm visiting or staying with folks who are dying. Something to make those last few days a bit nicer. Something to talk over or just bring a smile.

I doubt mine will ever taste as good as his. The butchering alone. He says it's better to do it yourself, but that'll have to be the first of a few compromises to my version of things.

I trained so hard to learn the fire dance... I'm so glad I didn't catch anything of my own on fire in the process!!

I think it's time for the Suspires to hold another round of lessons... but I wonder what people are most interested in learning! Dance, poetry? Cooking? Or brewing? You can always send me a message... or I'll just find something that suits my fancy! I can't teach everything but I can always find the right people and make the right connections and we all raise each other up.

Summer is upon us. Summer. It really is my favorite season. However I've been unable to enjoy it. I have been buried in paperwork. And meetings. So many meetings. About different things. My only hope is that the people can come together and come to a decision best suited as a whole.

It is an amusing level that some might still speak rumor of me. More so to hear that there is someone that believes the food offered to those that are in need of keeping from starvation would include additional ingredients.

I will say this once.
They'll know that it was me, face to face. And while they are gasping for air, I'll be having tea.

Drake and I ran into Macda at the Black Fox the other evening. It was nice to see her, really. However, she put my husband up to a task I'm both intrigued and terrified to see.

Sometimes the best strategy involves a well placed joke. There are many things which are not a laughing matter. That said, we should never take ourselves too seriously. Perspective has a sense of humour.

Perhaps. Let me spin a tale.
Perhaps.
Artists who put food on their tables with their art does not want to give it to auction off. Perhaps they want to be paid and then you can do with it what you want.

Perhaps if it's helping Bastion, they wanted a Grayson to step forward and assist with it. The fealty instead of well--- instead of. We will leave that there.

Perhaps even you didn't ask them nicely.

This is all perhaps though.

Perhaps I am wrong.

Scholar, could you make sure this goes to the right people? Thank you.

I, Raymesin Ulbran, am looking for the opportunity to patronise someone. I promise that I'm very, very good at it. I look forward to patronising someone immensely.

Yes, please, underline that last word. Immensely.

Bravery. The state of having and displaying mental and/or moral strength to face danger, fear, difficulty or potentially dire and negative outcomes.

Bravery is not born of those who do not feel fear or think they have the upper hand. It is what rises and drives us despite what terrible outcomes may come. The drive to do what one must do to make things just and right, to speak true and to fight back, even if your actions, not matter how noble or true, may utterly destroy you.

It is not always easy to be truly brave. In fact, depending on the person, their circumstances and experiences, it is sometimes the most difficult thing to do and often the most foolish. But all the same, if one ever wishes to chance a change for the better, one must try their best to be as brave as they can. Especially when it matters.
