I have been busy!
I have received a number of custom orders over the last several days, and I have been toiling. I do enjoy the work, of course, and I am amazed that so many are so interested in my work.
I continue to set aside ten percent of every sale to donate to the Temple of Jayus. Praise his name.

Relationship Note on Calypso
Without Lady Calypso, I would still be in one of the worst slums of Southport. I did not hate my life in the shop there, but I also never thought I could ever leave it. And yet, here I am now, with a patron and a shop of my own. What does my future hold now?

Relationship Note on Arthur
In my time in Arx, I have put in a number of orders. From weapons to armor to clothes. Today, I got a message from a Master Russo, about payment for my cousin's new clothes. I realized I needed to replace this old salt-stained long-coat of mine. I've had it for years, and while there may be reasons why I keep wearing it, I would like to keep it before it falls apart.
So when I received this message from Master Russo, I thought to take on another order, a new long-coat. I thought nothing of it, considering the matter closed. That is, until I received the coat the very same day. And excellent piece at that. I was a bit shocked at the speed he was able to complete the order. And my cousin's clothes as well.
So if you're looking for anything done in leather and done in a timely fashion, go see Master Russo. Excellent workmanship, but he offers something others may not. Speed.
Should I need anything else in leather, I intend on looking upon him again.

Relationship Note on Arn
Frederik and Lord Telmar have been fighting shavs together since they were very young. Though Arn does have half a decade on Frederik, the two men have seen a lot together. Frederik deals with the Duke's crass nature with a patience that seems limitless, and speaks to him with a familiarty that makes me cringe, for if it were most other men, I fear their ears would be boxed.

Relationship Note on Edain
Frederik saw Prince Edain as a naive idealist at one point, but recent conversations regarding further plans has changed his mind. Frederik's unsure whether he's pleased the prince has started seeing things the way a realist had, or ashamed that the prince couldn't be protected from such things. Either way, my lord is loyal to His Highness. Like a dog, he'd say.

Blackram, obviously. Kid's a giant, though not so giant as his brother. If he's anything like the rest of them - which he is cause all of them Blackrams are the same - then he'll probably play a role the next time the armies of the Telmarch go to battle. Good to have someone a foot taller than me distract the enemy while I cave their heads in from the flank.

Relationship Note on Frederik
Count Frederik Steelheart, vassal of Wyrmguard. He's a stodgy old dog, maybe more dour than I am. Still, loyal and reliable and as distrustful of the shavs as me. Had a bit of a family dust up not that long ago, ended with his son and nephew dead along with his wife. Probably why he's so damned depressing. But old men like us are few and far between and we've fought battles together which makes him trustworthy. You know enough about a man if you're killing shoulder to shoulder with him. More than you would by talking.

I start the day today, as I have for the last five days, as Lady Reigna Keaton.
I beg my lord's forgiveness for my frequent lapses, but I am getting better at remembering.
Arx is everything I dreamed it might be. And while I come here as a lady married and not at the godsworn devoted to Vellichor as I had previously intended, still... this place fills me with a sense of purpose, of potential. The archives alone are a dream come true, the wealth of knowledge is incredible. I have spent most of these last days soaking it in. I wonder if I will ever get used to the sight of those bookcases, ever tire of the scent of parchment.
Either way, my path has been set, taking me to Arx, and I am here and I have a new name.
I will do everything I can, employ all my knowledge to assist House Keaton in its endeavors.

The breeze was soft, salted, and it tasted like the ice of the Mourning Isles. The wind made no ripple across the water. No footsteps marked the sand where I walked and walked in no direction.

Relationship Note on Caelis
Lady Admiral Caelis Malvici is an amazing woman who I have become quite fond of these past several months. With the love of the sea deeply embedded within her as it is myself, and a willingness to change the world around us by sheer force of will, compassion and charm, I cannot help but wonder if she and I were sisters in a past life. We were able to share what was on our hearts as I am preparing for my wedding later this evening, and I am left all the more enamored with her.
Here is to hoping that our fates remain forever entwined, and Mangata continues to lay her blessings upon us, Caelis. We will need them in the days to come, if we're to accomplish all we desire for our people.

While I have only been in the Arx for a few short days, I have been made aware of no small amount of trouble and danger. While in another life this would have been of selfish concern alone it is no longer such a thing. I have found swiftly that the more that I am responsible for, the more each trouble encompasses my mind. What once would have been a molehill has now become a mountain.

My wife loves all things colorful, and that includes butterflies. We have them in Stonewood of course, but do I know enough to assist in designing a habitat for them? Give me a trade deal to negotiate or a squabble to sort out, and take these butterflies!

I'm not very good at putting my thoughts down on paper, not that I do not spend plenty of time thinking them, but I've always felt that once they are written they become somewhat more real, more finite, more apt to focus the attention. When logic and reasoning, or circumstances and new knowledge means those thoughts have changed, or adapted...those words are still there. On paper.
Due to that, I'm not a very prolific writer.
I'm going to try and change that, I think. We shall see if I become better at such things in time. Less apt to want to scratch it all out so that an old thought isn't still glaring at me like some evil accusation of a changed mind.

Dear Compact,
I am starting a second hand shop called the Second Strand. It is part of my main shop the Tangled Skein. It is not open for business quite yet. I am looking to purchase clothing, armor, weapons, books and other items that have been gently used and are still in good condition. These items will then be resold.
If interested please send me a message or come by my shop so I can see your items and quote a price. I am looking for items that are worthy of being resold only. If you know the crafter who made your item, I would love their name so they can be credited with their work and so I can let the new owner know. This is a great way to reuse items no longer desired.
I will not take items made by crafters that are currently in business, unless I have their express permission to accept a certain item and I will only ask if I think the item is unique. I am looking for either unique items, items made by crafters who are no longer in town, no longer living or no longer working as a crafter.

Today I learned that an alcohol's potency is quite likely in direct and inverse proportion to the amount that they give to you as a serving. This is something I shall keep in mind for the future most assuredly.
My lord Keaton has been sweetening my mead with additional honey to assist me in my goals towards someday developing a palette for wine.
He is an exceptionally observant man. Unsurprising, I suppose, should one consider his family.

With any luck, there will be big, beautiful, fluffy kittens in a few months... I only hope Lilybelle approves. That reminds me, I really should check on Prince Dominic's sutures.. poor man was rather out of it when he got all those instructions.
