Relationship Note on Morrighan

I am pretty sure that when first we met, she despised me. And continued to despise me for a long time. Being Thrax, I was accustomed to being disliked sight unseen, but she gave me no little cause for concern as I grew close to Darren. Would all the Northerners as soon stab me as speak to me? But since those times, we have made peace, I think, and come to understand one another better. And I find I quite like her. She saved my life, afterall. I can see why the Redrain family places so much faith in her abilities. She works selflessly, so very hard. She proves things about the high value to be placed on that which is not easily obtained. And I am better here for having to work to earn any of her regard.

This page of Sparte's journal is nothing but drawings of ring designs. Some feature the pantheon, some feature great houses, others feature unique sigils in the likeness of animals and probably nonsensical writings. A recurring theme on the page is the sigil to Limerance in variations with different numbers of rings. It gives the sense of an incomplete puzzle.

The city of Arx isn't how I expected. Some people are pleasant, and my family has strong leadership with the Marquissa and her husband, but it seems some Thraxians could use a lesson in how to use language to better express themselves. On the other hand, I fought this Lord Darrow Darkwater at the Spar n' Sip, that was, well, it was definitely something, alright. We fought each other until the brink of exhaustion and finally I carried the day with a lucky shot. And it was lucky, let me tell you.

I had a discussion today with the King regarding openness and justice in his kingdom. The exact words I used to him were "Justice is not just unless it can survive the sunlight."

His answer was reasoned, and probably more satisfying to me than it would be if he just said agreed to my request. It gives me hope that my nephew's Arx will be more just than mine.

Leaving home again for another adventure. This time to Arx. Southport, I shall miss you not. You were Alice's home and she would have liked it if I were happy there in our home but you rejected me. Suspicion and scrutiny when I needed comfort and love. I'm a Malvici now, though, and out of respect to Alice, I will not dishonor those vows. Perhaps Southport will accept me when I make a name for myself in Arx. There is a Gyre invasion imminent. Surely there is need for young men of my means to be helping to protect our city.

Would that please you Southport? Would you love me then?

What do I have to give you? Is it my life?

I have never had my life threatened so many times in a single week.. I do rather wonder what I might have gotten myself into, though I have to say, I quite think it worth it. And at least the threats are all contingent upon things I don't actually intend anyway, so there's that.

Just how such a small person can swing such a big sword so hard though, is quite startling.
