Spring is here and my birthday is near. With the baking contest being planned, I think I need to find a really sweet challenge.

It is very satisfying when things abruptly make sense.

The Nox'alfar embassy is such a strange place. Amusing but full of oddities.

Ambassador Saccharin was delightful and charming, as always. I am glad I went to hear the questions and answers that were given. And also to chat with some old friends.

Praise to the those who use song and shadow to bring truth to light. for it is such acts of quiet courage that our hope of tomorrow rests

Let the shedding of the thick, fur cloaks commence. There are many (wonderful) things awaiting for so many of us this Spring. I am beginning to smell the garden in bloom.

The meeting at the Nox embassy was quite not what i was expecting, but absolutely marvelous. Just being able to hear most of the questions made it so much fun!

The fruits of war, piled up like sand, witness mutely that being mortal we ought never cast our thoughts too high, for arrogance in full bloom bears a crop of ruinous folly from which it reaps a harvest all of tears.

There are so changes to Arx since I was here last. Cousin Keely introduced me to the chocolate coffee at Bold Espressions. Definitely worth another visit.

I don't need to write a journal to commemorate today, really. It will remain burned in my memory for the rest of my life. I have never so enjoyed being on a ship before. Nor being so battered and bruised. Every nerve ending sings. Thank goodness for having a talented physician.

Today. It was a beautiful day.

A distant shrill, wild and clear, that cracked trumpet that when blown gives off an eerie, atonal clang that resonates across every ship. It bound off of hulls, I remember. Filtered into galleys, holds, every captain's cabin. And from that wild darkness were gulls once belled, that hateful silence, churning. You've shown it to us.

At your behest, omens were formed in the fabric of things, and only now do they begin to make sense; to take shape, in the fire. Some were once taken as nothing more than hollow misgivings, but these now they've crept through my body like sourceless aches one wakes with, and can never be rid of.

Now, it is lightning-plain, Goddess. A promise of flame.

Rise and spread.

Spring at last! Mud, patchy grass, and the smell of everything waking again.
We're going on our first ride of the season, and it was his idea!
Whatever it was, it worked out beautifully. Like all of his plans.

E, I hope you can read this scribble. Don't include the trail map, I'm not done with that yet.

It is nice to have friends back in Arx again.

In many cases, it's been too long since a good long discussion over tea. Marquis Fairen, I'm talking about you on that one.

Too long since a good long discussion over a glass of port. (Lord Pasquale!)

Too long since a good long discussion over a cup of coffee. (my brother!)

I suppose there is a sort of trend to be noticed here, yes. I hadn't realized how much I enjoy good long conversations.

My hand really hurts. I hope all of you hurts.
Until next time.

Scholar Einar, I know it isn't nice to say, but he will understand.

I was fortunate enough to run into Messere Gerald Wilkerson the other day at the market. He proceeded to give me a wonderful deal on starlight silk; I have enough for a handful of dresses, which is likely all I'll need. I do highly recommend his services for anyone seeking someone capable of acquiring materials. I have honestly never seen someone as proficient as him.
