Relationship Note on Calista

Oh cousin, I am honoured by the comparison, for if I shine for a mile away, then you shine for a hundred.

I do beg to differ though. You should Mabelle full time. But I will take what I can get.

I have found something best unmentioned in my shoe (Thanks Tom), and with it the realization I own two sets of boots but one set of socks. One of which I will not be using for some time. I will now have to remedy that.

Gods, I am well and truly so out of practice. How pathetic. How embarrassing for the family.

I took leave of my senses and spent hundreds of thousands of silver on dresses this week. I'm a little nervous about embarrassing myself in them, though... but it's important to House Blanchard's reputation that its Minister of Coin looks nice, isn't it?

Relationship Note on Jourdain

I hope Mistress Verity and yourself come to a pleasant conclusion to the occurance that seems to pain you. She cares deeply, I believe! For you, and our house.

If it is truly pain, and not longing, I hope you find the courage to end things peacefully. If it is longing, and not pain, I pray for your pleasant softening of humors over time.

Relationship Note on Drake

Our little example was merely an example, and still...

Well, I hope it was educational for Jourdain. It was rather improprietous of me! Bade or not.

I truly wonder if I read too many stories. Too many sets of tales depicting actions rather than doing them.

At times I think my head so far up in the clouds, outside of reality, searching and seeking for answers rather than doing them. I hope, and pray, that I am preparing myself for some great thing to come, but is it better to instead seek out, and find answers in reality?

Legate Bianca believes I should explore the waking world for answers, and I cannot call her wrong in that regard. What holds me back? Is it... myself?

Grayson family dinner this month was quite wonderful, with lots of faces that hadn't been seen in awhile and a rousing discussion that lasted long into the evening and was incredibly informative! My thanks for those who keep showing up, I always learn something whether it's a small thing I did not realize about a single person or a huge, world-view-shaking new idea that keeps me awake at night wondering about possibilities!

Sometimes it is good to know that while you leave, you are never gone. Sometimes it is equally as important to extend that hand and inform someone else that though they no longer walk the halls of the past, they will never be unwelcome in the future.

Seasons shift, and with it, always, brings the possibility of great change. There is something strangely refreshing about seeing the leaves change as summer fully leaves us and we enter autumn's embrace.

There is much to be anxious for, there is much to be concerned about. There is the possibility of change on the horizon. But it might behoove all of us sometimes to watch the leaves fall now and then, and remember.

For all its foibles and tribulations, there is great beauty in this world, too.

As an experienced ruler and courtier, I should probably have a better notion of quite how to respond to my change in circumstances - especially given the forewarning of it. But I confess that I am still surprised whenever anyone addresses me by my new title. Growing up as the spare daughter of an already-spare son, I saw little in my future save historical research and perhaps some authorial efforts. Now... I find myself declared to be royalty. It is hard to imagine quite when the novelty might wear off.

I was able to celebrate at the Expanse the other night. It was amazing to be able to celebrate poetry, music and dance with so many amazing individuals. I sang the song that I first sang to my husband, well before we were married. Nakoa loved the bells ... not so much the grass. I cannot wait until he shows what art is in his soul.

I'm delighted to announce that the Bard's College will be hosting my next engagement, Dauntless, the Stand of Sir Erec Redhill, an opera about that very thing, this winter. Sir Erec and Angus the Goat are cast, the set is being built and costumes are coming together. Now I just need a couple dozen people who can sing while falling off of a bridge.

Relationship Note on Roran

Despite this Archlector's enthusiasm for using fire as a cleansing tool, it is clear that he possesses a deep and true Faith. Something that all Blesseds should have and I am grateful for when they do because I have been disappointed too many times in the past when people do not.

If you read this Roran then this was a compliment. Enjoy it.

A staring contest. Why did I agree to this?

Oh that's right. Because it would have made you smile. You had better appreciate this Jo.
