Arche Duke Niccolo is an interesting man. I will have to figure out how to address him, I switch between calling him 'Your grace' and 'Archduke'. Perhaps I'll go with 'your Archdukehood'. Hey, that seems a good title. Yup. I think I'll see if I can get away with that. It's a fun name.

Bunkered down, the rip in the air behind me with shadows just through it, ghostly figures whispering in a contained cacophony about me. I heard the shouts above but heard the whispers below. The latter was far louder and resonates, echoic euphonic epiphany in repetitious recitation. Favored.

War. It is upon us. It is at the very gates of the city. Days prior to the arrival of this enemy, I had found myself sleepless and filled with worry. This worry has turned to terror now that the army is here. Some of my terror is for my own survival instinct of course, but it is also for others. There are several that I deeply care for that will be facing this threat head on. I dread the thought of loosing them more than the threat on my own life. We are facing such an unknown enemy with such a terrible unknown power of their own. I fear we are at a severe disadvantage. However, I have the feeling that in the end we will prevail. We may suffer losses, but we are a rather diverse and full of surprises. It is this knowledge that keeps me hopeful for the future of our people.

Relationship Note on Mailys
Mistress Mailys is a Whisper, a courtesan with a very daring and bold spirit I'd say. She's been slowly growing on me, since that one time she dared to asked to be interviewed for the position of captain House Velenosa's guard. Of course, she didn't get it, she's nowhere near qualified, but the fact that she tried was both amusing and refreshing. She's earnest in what she want, honest and upfront and that is not something you see often. Could it be that she what she presents? Perhaps, but there is something I see in those eyes of hers, that make me think that perhaps I'm wrong. That perhaps there is so very much more.

It is interesting how things can play out. I made a simple cloak for this knight for the price of good word spread. This deed seemed to have brought him back to my shop one day. His visit was not for the sake of business, but it was to ask me out to dinner. This dinner together turned to more dates and more time spent with the handsome knight. One thing led to another and I have found myself utterly in love. I have never felt like this toward another. I just know that he is the one.
