Relationship Note on Khanne
Family.
It's something that means a lot to me. Not only the family of blood ties, but the family we choose. Those few special people who you really get you, and support you, and are there for you no matter what even though they don't have to be. The ones who push you to do what is best for you, even when you don't want to hear it. And, will not hesitate to give their honest opinion. Percy has been one of those few, for me, since we met. And in return, I have been an overprotective dragon in addition to all the rest.
Being his other half naturally means you become a part of that as well. So, welcome to the family.

Relationship Note on Percephon
My cousin Percephon and I are quite different. He is a scholar, and a highly ranked one at that. I am a soldier. He enjoys his books and his study. I enjoy my sword, armor, and the Gauntlet.
And yet. As we realize we are aligned against the same enemies in our own ways, we have grown closer. And so I was pleased to sign the proclamation announcing Percephon's betrothal to Lady Khanne Halfshav.
Yes, an alliance between the Telmarch and Whitehall will bring more trade and security. But it will also bring my cousin joy. And that makes me happy, as well.

Ours has not been a constant friendship. Instead, our lives have crisscrossed irregularly, weaving a weird and wonderful tapestry of laughter at having made such similar mistakes, mutual affection for a cuddly murderbeast neither of us see anymore, comfort in knowing we are not alone in witnessing certain horrors, relief in the rare moments we've shared our burdens, resolve born from offered advice, determination to not let time unravel what we share and joy whenever our paths actually cross by happenstance or intention.
What is constant is how we have cared for each other, how we have shared our hurts and our hopes and our happiness.

I remember when you swore off love and determinedly pursued a more pragmatic view of interpersonal relationships.
I remember the bittersweet gestures you permitted to slip through all the same.
I remember when, not too long ago, the tone of your white journals shifted from studious consideration to understated optimism.
I hope, years from now, to remember watching your happiness grow without limit.
To be met with such magnificent news upon packing away my winter beard and climbing down from my mountain does my heart good. It might even be enough to encourage me out of my tower more often, if the world promises such loveliness.

I am so, so happy for you my friend. Friend feels a mild word, for all that I cannot ever put to words exactly how it came to be (other than your sheer extraordinary grace, humor and heart, mind you) that I so instantly felt close to you, but nearly from the moment we first spoke I have trusted you and admired you. I count you among my family, one of choice, if not of blood, and I include you in my daily prayers, as among the things I am most grateful for in life. I do not flout the concept of Skald, I do not think that the gods have a predetermined path that all men must walk, but I do think that they offer us a choice of many roads, each with their challenges and rewards. I am profoundly glad to have walked the path that brought me to your friendship. You are a blessing, a support. I went to my first public debate last night and was the first to speak! Well, not the first to speak for the person who so generously organized it was the first to tell us what the order of things was going to be and I did happen to be there entirely by accident, however it was a great time and I got to talk about how powerful words can be. Which everyone reading this already knows because you're reading it to find some knowledge or solace or gossip or something that will make the day pass a bit faster or help you on you way. Cousin Gareth was there and paid me a compliment on my speaking skills. I think it was a compliment. It may not have been fully intended as a compliment, but I have taken it as such and shall not be swayed elsewise!
It certainly gave me a lot to think about and I believe I shall move forward on my plan to become a patron for those who love the arts. Particularly the theater. I know of one such playwright who is looking for patronage, but the recent contest introduced me to a lot more!

15,000. Well, perhaps a little less if I skimped on a few things, but, that's all that's between me and completing the commission for a rubicund greatsword.
Pity that even if Cufre sold everything currently in the shop that would only be another 5,500, I could sell the pelt that I've been holding on to, gods it will be close. Perhaps I need to work on something bigger.

I found my way back to the Ambassador Salon and met the Marquis of house Leary and his brother. There are so many new friends to make, and so many stories both to tell and to learn from others. I am excited to be back in Arx.

I am waiting on paperwork and processes and find myself, for the first time, anxious for it to all be done by the bureaucracy. There are things that can only be done when it is. But till then I can still take tailoring commissions.

A heart-to-heart with Princess Ribbons. Sort of. And a good bit of training with Mags and The Moustache of Thrax, after. There were drinks, past that. Songbird showed up for it all. Can you believe Galen offered to buy eighteen rounds? I didn't drink as much as I could have. I kept to my word. Oh, but all that I could have drank! The road home is much easier to navigate when it's not wobbling. That must be the secret. It's less of a challenge though.

Honestly, Josie's work on her jewels are so inspiring. You might have seen me dash from the shop as though my feet were on fire. I suppose, in some fashion, they were. Now, I am proud to say that I own work from two of the Compact's finest. Mistress Coldrain AND Guildmistress Arterius. Soon, I will make a point to see and meet with even more of Arx's artisans. Mistress Corsetina for a signature scent and Master Meadson for a blade. In the meanwhile, I will be trying my own hand at art. Although ... I wouldn't anticipate it being as lovely as all of this. I am a better hand at mixing herbs and stuffing dead birds.
