I am very pleased for Mistress Petal's and Sword Cillian's marriage. I hope it works out wonderfully well for them.

I haven't been up to much of late. Between one thing and another, it's been difficult to get moving. I can't see my toes, and I feel out of sorts and cranky. But Mistress Josephine has assisted me with a commission and I am thrilled with it!

I wonder if there are any more raspberries to be found.

The honoring of the Stone Grove was special and heartwarming. Seeing so many care for its well being, well, I got to admit I did not expect that. It was a very nice, memorable event.

The fashion show to the Queen of Endings was AMAZING. The outfits were jaw-dropping, the judges must've struggled really hard to pick, and some of THEM wore outfits that could've easily been modeled and maybe even have won.

Congratulations to Princess Gwenna Redrain who came first, and Lord Martino Malvici second, and third to my good friend Nightingalle Gianna Whisper.
To the Judges, thank you.
And Princess Helena - you were splendid.

Spreading the Queen of Endings and Mother of Beginning's word this way is amazing. It makes people curious, and curiosity brings a need for knowledge. I expect many more visitors to the Shrine in the next few days.

Awwww the white journals. The Oprah House of the Archives. There's so many stories here and dramatics written down that I think I spent over two hours this morning cackling in amusement with some of the Pravosi Scholars over a bottle -- okay several bottles because everyone knows Setarcans love a good gold but I digress. As we consumed this delicious alcohol and read some of the more interesting journals because good gods they can be dryer than an inappropriate euphemism that would be unbecoming of any Lady of station, but most especially as a Voice of House Pravus. I can already hear it in my head,"Mehhhh be better." Ugh.

Niccolo Pravus was my mother's cousin. He was a good man but he became fucking Legendary when he married, in my very informed opinion, the most amazing Archduchess in all of our history -- Deva. She was wild and untamed. Sooooo beautiful. More beautiful than any Lenosian "blossom" and so effortlessly too. Not only that but she was a Princess of Redrain and Niccolo a Duke of Pravus. What?! How did these two creep up the ranks to rule over the principle House of the One Hundred Cities? Savvy. That's how. Now, many people have said before that we only marry out our weak and incapable. This is...debatable in -this- instance for sure because not only did they manage well but Niccolo gave birth to Isolde. Another Pravus who became a Velenosan legend that continues to dwarf the other princesses in that House. I've yet to see anyone ever come close to her with the name Velenosa and she didn't have a silly blossom title either because she was never a delicate flower but a powerful leader of men and women. She was the Archduchess we need.

Shard and Prince Thrax, good heavens yes. Such good debate in between these holy pages but the real gem is any merc who thinks they have done good things. It's kind of like being an oathbreaker who isn't right with the Gods, which the Compact's principles were founded upon. Anything you do, even if it looks good was selfishly motivated by avarice. Greed for coin. Which washes away any goodwill you might have earned or been looked upon. Oh trust me I know because I used to be a mercenary -- the folly of youth. How misled I was but alas you can always rise from that and "be better" UUUUGH! I'm a Knight now. With very strong principles and an unbreakable oath of obligation to the people of Setarco, my House's lands (which we've held for over a thousand years, much longer than most of the Compact and definitely before the formation of it all mind you but it was relevant so I thought to just add this in here.) and of course to the Bloodline of Pravus. Shard's argument. Classic. Prince Alecstazi (I'm sure I butchered it but I tried!) your form is excellent and as a member of the Peerage I have to support you because by Shard's argument. The Compact is the good old boys and gals club and we all support EVERYTHING that we ALL do. Always. That's just a fact. The Compact is a singular entity that can't exist in different cultures or vacuums of policy that differ from the rest of this monolith that is The Compact. Funny because we haven't warred with any Abandoned in our lands and won many, many more allies with honey than we did the Sword because that's what Pravosi do. If we can't talk you into good sense, then we will fuck you senseless and re-negotiate when you've had the kind of rush that only Sins can provide. Shamelessly so at that which is one of the reasons our House has such a scandalous reputation no doubt but again I think that everyone should focus on the obvious threat of invasion from these outside forces because it's a real threat unlike the tens of thousands of Abandoned who actually have no opinion or interaction with us because they, like we all, have shit to do and their own lives to live and wars to fight.

Oh and they also have their own education systems and medical care or else they would all be dead from ignorance, sepsis and disease. Even if theirs just doesn't seem as up to par with what we can do, sometimes it's better! Good day.

A day and a night spent in the Shrine of Limerance.

I thought of those who've turned their backs on me throughout the years, and those I have abandoned as well.

Though often no formal binding oaths are exchanged between friends and allies, there is a spirit of adhesion that forms when affinities grow.

Why do we break ties so easily when there are no sacred murmurings to secure them?

I should do better to fulfill obligations unspoken and unsworn. Not because I must but because it feels right.

Relationship Note on Petal

I remember the day I first meet you, I was so worried about meeting you. Then I got to know you, the more time we spoke and spent together I found a very different person then I thought I would. One who is fierce to protect those she cares for and one who would give anyone the shirt off her back if she could. I am proud to be your husband now to stand at your side, I do not see anyone else I would want to have at my side. I look forward to the days to come for the good and the bad, for the many adventures I know we will have!

For always and ever my Orcid.

I visited the Stone Grove for a ritual performed by Elder Mirk and High Shaman Drea of the Spirit Walkers. It was good to see so many turn out in support of that ancient place of peace. Some chose to make sacrifices to honor the spirits and Petrichor, others observed, and all, I think, shared a strong desire to see the Stone Grove flourish once again.

The Stone Grove was also the site of the wedding ceremony between Petal Penrose and Cillian Weatherwood. Adorned in timeless majesty and beauty of nature, the two bound their lives together, and I wish them the greatest happiness and prosperity.

Equally committed to her art and her duty to her House - it seems that Granato is fortunate indeed to have her as one of those helping to care for it. There is a good deal to be said, I think, for those who hold power over others having artistry in their soul.

I am overwhelmed by the generosity shown at the auction to commemorate Lord Commander Dayne Valardin. Over 3.5 million silver bid to see him added to the Hall of Heroes.

I am proud to say that the funds received are more than sufficient for the task and the excess will see that the Lord Commander and his memory are adequately honored and live on to the future.

Thank you, Archduchess Regent Jaenelle for organizing this and Auctioneer Wren for running it so well. And to all the bidders for their charity. It is Gild's blessings.

I cannot speak against the existence of love matches for it would make me the truest of all hypocrites. But I will offer some friendly advice to those who find themselves in the uncomfortable position of defending their love match:

Don't. You chose your heart over duty. Accept that you did that. Embrace what has been done with the humility that it requires.

You are never going to be accepted as an objective voice on the talents and value of your love, for obvious reasons. You love that person. I am not objective on the subject of Ainsley Grayson and it would be ludicrous if I professed to be.

Marrying for love and accepting the mantle of responsibility for your new house is what you must do. You cannot stop tongues from wagging, because they will and perhaps they should. When the first sweetness is off your love match, as you negotiate the ongoing strength of your marriage and how you will fit in the long term, you will have the opportunity to produce proof to society that your sense of duty is as strong as your love.

You can't do it now. It won't work.

Just put your heads down and serve. In a few years, if you serve well, no one will remember why you wed, and nothing will stand to inconvenience you in the labors you do in fealty to your new liege.

Love is wonderful. If people will talk, let them. Talk will not hurt you if you are competent.

I had the great honor of being able to complete my first painting themed on one of the gods for a friend of mine to hang in his office. I should think I should be thanking him and not the other way around. The entire project was an extended exercise in the contemplation of Lagoma. While I have ever revered the Triad of Creation, it was in the completion of a driftwood sculpture for my home that I realized that in comparison to Mangata and Petrichor, my mental image of Lagoma was sorely lacking. Not so now, I think. This is one of my favorite things in picking the composition of a new work. Always seeking to say as much as possible on the subject in symbolic imagery, the completion of the piece led me to consider the many places Her aspect touches on the Dream.

Lord Martino,

I am flattered by your words. You were my first friend in the city, and I am honored by your praise. To think, when we first met I was the wild girl chasing any adventurous take you offered.

Thank you for sticking beside me while I found my feet here and helping guide me to become the person I am now. Thank you for the kind gentle nudges I have needed to make better choices for myself.

I perhaps need to start calling you wise rather than just old.

House Clearlake hosted it's second Archery Tourney and I couldn't be happier for the turn out that we had. It was the perfect event to break in the new Clearlake Festival Grounds. I was very happy with the way it turned out over the many months of working on the plan. We had many great archers come out and I was thrilled to give out the new prizes for the top three scorers. Princess Ophelia took home first place, Countess Arcadia took second and Lady Rhiannon took third. I hope that all of the winners love their prizes and I hope that those that attended enjoyed their tokens that were handed out. I look forward to the Spring Festival that is soon to be held.
