When someone you care for no longer appears to care for you, how do you overcome this? Asking for a friend, of course. It seems what I told someone long ago about Limerance vis-a-vis myself has rung true. As much as I dreaded it, I knew all along it was the case.

Usually you bond and get to know the horse. Go tiding, do training, groom and feed. If the horse is nibbling your clothes gently, it’s probably a sign of affection. You could call it Nibbles? Or Chewie?

That was such a lovely event last night! It was very exciting. I don't do social events terribly well, but at least you were asking questions, and I could answer. I'm not sure all my answers were good ones, but at least I didn't have to try to come up with conversation out of nowhere.
I hope you will return the honor and send a delegation from the Empyrean (delegation is a fair word, isn't it?) to the destruction of the Shrine of Jayus. So too do I hope Whisper House will send people too. And wine. If we can have people stage-managing the wine and the refreshments, that would be helpful. I'm not very good at that sort of thing.

The Bard's College is a brilliant thing, I was stunned at the skill of the performers at the opening ceremony the other day. As far as I am concerned it is a true light in the city, something that brings joy, even the sad songs. I wish only the best to all of those who have taken on the task of creating such a fantastic place and congratulations on making it a reality. While there might be a great deal of building that needs doing, it is real and you did it.

A huge thank you to Margret and Cybele for lessons in medicine. While I doubt I could do the wonders I have seen them do in the field, I at least should be able to patch up those in the field with fair certainty of success should I need to.

I have a new horse compliments of Solace....what does one do with a war horse when one is not in war I wonder? And why does he seem intent on biting my clothing? It isn't like he doesn't get fed, I still need a good name for him though. I doubt Pain in my Behind is a good name.

Today, I just want to write a little bit about Talen, in this journal of mine.
Absolutely, these are thoughts that should be recorded for Vellichor, and for all who would read them.
Lately I have had a lot of time to reflect upon my relationships - my relationship to him - especially.
Every time I visit with the man, I feel as if I come away better for it. Not just because of the haze, mind you.
Now, this isn't to say that he won't also stir you a little fucking crazy at the same time. Balance in everything.
Such is the nature of the southern people, I suspect. But also, speaking of Talen, and the nature of the Lycene..
Under no circumstances should anyone believe I was paid to write any of these kind things about the man.
Choice is a powerful thing (HI ALEKSEI) and sometimes you should just choose to honor your friendships, visibly.
Kan you believe I'm even sober for this wonderful contribution to the archives? Mostly sober counts, you know.

Last night I received the most beautiful, wonderful, amazing gift ever. Her name is Princess Muffin. She's a beautiful white puppy and so fuzzy I feel like I'm touching a cloud when I pet her. Here are some words to describe her:
This puppy is fluffy in the extreme. She's no more than 8 inches tall and weighs perhaps 10-12 pounds. The size of her paws suggests that she's maybe a quarter of her true height. Her coat is *thick*; fluffy, fluffy fur is a snowy white with a slight sheen of golden-blonde fur to it. She has a large (fluffy) head that features big coal black eyes, and a wet nose that's always sniffing something. She wears a pretty green collar with a metal tag that reads: 'Princess Muffin, Her Fluffiness'.
I was a little worried when I brought her back to my room that maybe she and Princess Sally Acorn might not get along. I mean, Sally's never had a problem with dogs before, but those were dogs not also vying for room on the bed. When I bought Muffin into my room the first time I was very careful to have her sit down before I coaxed Sally out to say hello.
I shouldn't have worried though. They hit it off like they've known one another forever! Sally sniffed at Muffin a few times and then promptly climbed right onto Muffin's back. That was a super new experience for muffin I guess, because she made herself dizzy trying to see what Sally was doing there. They spent the next hour with Sally darting here and there in my room with Muffin trotting after. (Muffin is SO CUTE but also so clumsy too! I think she fell a good four times when Sally changed direction too quickly for Muffin to react.)
Eventually Muffin got tired and so she came and curled up at the foot of my bed. I was petting her and Sally decided to join it. She curled up right against Muffin's belly like a little red spot against Muffin's white fur. We fell asleep like that. When I woke up Muffin had migrated up and was curled against my chest now, and Sally was back on her favorite spot on the pillow.
I know there are a lot of really horrible things going on right now, but last evening and this morning were perfect. If I could ever wish to just freeze a moment - it would have been right then.

I don't usually write here or anything, but I couldn't let the day go by without marking Princess Elgana Redrain's birthday.
Aureth is my patron (and the best patron I could ask for!) but Elgana has been a kind and caring friend and supported me in all the ways that matter.
