I am surprised but utterly delighted that our baby sister has been allowed to come join Artur and I in Arx. Honestly, I doubted mother would ever agree to it, considering, but the world is full of wonders these days. Speaking of wonders, I can't even imagine what Bellamy might think of all the places the city has to offer! The timing is perfect as well, with winter far enough away that travel wouldn't be bad, but close enough that Arx isn't stifling with heat.

I can only assume that I've engendered affection or respect for the Blackshore name in the minds of the commoners you refer to, to the extent that they expected similar qualities when speaking to you. I have no doubt that you corrected them, and imagine that they'll lose interest in you soon enough.
If you find Arx not to your taste, I'm sure that the city wouldn't mourn your departure overly.
In order to 'reconnect,' some form of pre-existing connection would be required, wouldn't it? I don't recall ever having such a thing with you, but if you would like some assistance finding your place in the House or a way to make yourself useful, I'm sure I can spare the time.

It's a marvel to me that relics such as yourself continue to exist, and do so with such naked impunity. That a commoner had to step in to make you cease your hateful prattle is truly disappointing, but here we are.

A fine start to the good auction organised by House Malvici where several fine items, Black Pearl and Ivory, are up for bidding. It has not truly been that strange to me... that both of the commoners who have striven quite rudely and incessantly to impose themselves into my attention, whilst I was conversing with others... have done so with your name in their blistering mouths, Dycard.
How are you entertaining yourself in Arx, I wonder?
A truly benevolent lord must forgive the rabble. Especially when they have been so misled by encounters with the lawless dandies that this city appears to be rife with - have you not found your perfect place, Dycard? I, myself, am disappointed by the capital. Even the Iron Guard have no respect for the rules of society and civilization.
We should endeavor to reconnect soon. I look greatly forward to seeing Skye again. From all I have heard, she has done me very proud, and I hope to build upon the strength of House Blackshore as immediately as possible. This is a turbulent time in history and we must all do our very best.

That was a wonderful birthday joust. Thank you, Baron Uncle Norwood and Lady Adalyn.
It's funny just how much change can occur over the course of a year. I'm not an entirely different person by any means, but in my wildest imaginings, I don't think I ever envisioned myself giving serious challenge to Norwood in a proper joust. I know I didn't quite win, but it was very close, and that's a victory I'll gladly take.

I can't believe someone like her even exists.
I wouldn't go as far as to say she is everything I wish to be - because she decidedly is not.. I can enjoy watching a spar, or a brawl, but I'll never enjoy throwing a punch or sporting a bruise. And never, ever do I want to be able to make such.. implications to a stranger, even if it /was/ for a 'good cause'.
But I do admire her.
There is something very.. calming about her. About the way she carries herself, about the way she speaks and about the way she reacts to certain things. Of course, it doesn't hurt that peoples whose opinions I value greatly speak highly of her.

Maybe I am reading too much into things. Not everyone is putting on an act or carrying secrets around, Revell.

He must be pretty important. I keep hearing his name crop up and I've had friends encourage me to go visit him whenever I have the time.
The first time I did, there were too many people around to get a good gauge on his character, but the second time.. You'know, I really needed a friend to listen to me moan and complain, and he was happy to be that person in that paticular moment.
He seems kind, even though he can be an insufferable tease (nobody likes smug grins, okay?) and he's certainly patient. But he also seems a bit lonely, but maybe I'm reading into something he said a little too much.
Either way, I plan to visit again soon.
And Brother, if you're reading this..

It feels odd, I'm used to working along side my family for the most part. It's easy to stay quiet and stoic when you have family that are delightfully open and bright enough for three women. But stepping up and flying solo, it feels like a duck swimming on a pond.
Have to make sure I do not mess up and make problems for all of us. Bad enough I've gotten hurt myself growing up. I do not want to get my dear sister, cousin and father in similar plights while things are changing.

It's not that hard to not get the Blessed Brigida's staff across the shins. Be respectful, don't poke her, make sure she has ample warm liquids to drink and a warm fire and bring her a rose or three. Simply done.
