Relationship Note on Clover
I don't believe I've ever met someone who has made a more horrific introduction. Skipping by the river... and fell in. What she lacks in coordination, she makes up in enthusiasm however, and I am certain she'll find a way to help out here in Arx. That eagerness appears to translate into learning as well, which is good... but after hearing more and more about the Lady Clover, I do wonder if I haven't sent into a world of pain at The Gauntlet.

I have decided its time for more entertainment and hijinx - possibly of the romantic kind.
After the siege and after the city has licked its inital wounds, I plan a masquerade ball. Perhaps as spring is upon us... All type of costume welcome but the entirety of the face and hands must be concealed along with other distinguishable marks.
Of course, my whispers with be the crown jewel of the night as always. Of this i have no doubt.
Perhaps Lord Rook would be so kind as to help suggest a suitable place. We will speakof it later.

I have every intention of keeping Lord Michael safe on our mission. I fear Iona's wrath if anything happens to her beloved son, far more than I fear the bringers. If the Bringers take me, I am gone. If I allow the Bringers to harm Lord Michael, then I crushed the hearts of his mother and his sisters the Lady Lailah and Marquesa Samantha. That is something that I cannot and will not allow to happen.

So Sprout's in the city now! It's good to see her again.
Of course, I worry she'll trip and fall right into trouble -- she has a knack for that -- but then again, she seems to always spring back up again. Always comes through, still with a smile.
And frankly, that seemingly inexhaustible optimism and enthusiasm is something the city could sorely use these days. I only hope she can brighten the city, rather than it dimming her light.

The Aspirations of Alcohol event went without a hitch, and per usual Acacia impressed me with her laudable hosting skills. The menu was nothing short of impressive and there was a notable increase in recipe creativity. I -might- have to look into making this an annual thing. Or perhaps bi-annual.
The Grotto is even more impressive than I initially imagined and I might have to look into visiting again sometime in the near future. Master Saedrus has done fine work.
The prizes Mistress Joscelin and Mistress Aurora crafted were -exceptional- in quality and I kind of wanted to keep them for myself...
All in all, a great time, and I think I can be happy for a bit.

Relationship Note on Asger
Asger is an interesting tower of a man, all muscle and scars, he's a formidable warrior. One that I've heard by reputation may well be one worth having at your side. He's rough spoken, enjoys drinking and gambling, and is, really, the last kind of man that I ever would see myself spending a great deal of time with.
So, why is it that I cannot stop thinking of him, and when he requests my company, I am so quick to accept? Why do I enjoy his company when he is so contrary to everything that I've ever surrounded myself with? His diversions from my normal duties have become a regular routine to break up the ordinarily heavy days. A little bit of levity goes a long way, and I truly need that in my life right now.
Although from a practical standpoint, he is a militarily conscious man, and one whom I enjoy the company of. If I must change my plans for my future, he could be a most welcome part of my future.
So, why is it that I cannot stop thinking of him, and when he requests my company, I am so quick to accept? The days go by so slowly, like the passing of ships that never seem to want to stop and help those who are in need on the other vessel. They creep and they crawl and one cannot imagine the torture that the people are experiencing, yet there are still parties going on, still nobles to tailor for. It is forever spinning, the days go by, and still...
The winter snows are hard and unyielding today and it was hard to dream of even going to my shop to open, but I did. I always do. I am scared, afraid of things to come, yet also confident, at least as much as I can be. It is a strange thing that being around friends makes me come out of hiding. I was always the shy girl, the unnoticed girl. Sometimes I prefer it that way so I don't have to see the world as it is, wonder what people want from me. But it is not all bad. I have my dearest friends close and I appreciate each and every one of them, more than they perhaps know.
Cherish those you have. Cherish them and show them the love that you can and perhaps one day, you will be rewarded for your goodness and kindness. I'd like to think that, anyway. I should probably stop writing just now, though. It is cold and I still have things to do.

Although I'll never understand who someone can deal with certain types of things on a daily basis, I applaud those that can. One of which is Bianca. Thirteen Houses and Families participated in the second Aspirations of Alcohol event.
First prize went to House Kennex.
Second prize went to House Velenosa.
And the two remarkably tied for honorable mentions were House Riven's spiced cider and House Laurent's Reserve Mead.
Guildmaster Joscelin Arterius and Mistress Aurora Thornburn provided the exquisite prizes.
Overall, the fundraiser was undoubtedly a success thanks to the generosity and participation provided by those from all reaches in the City. Let us all pray that the upcoming battles will be as well.

I will start with this. I submitted my own, but I did not vote my own. I liked quite a few of the alcoholic drinks that had been put on the roster. The stout made with a creamy milk, and the rose wine were my favorite. Me and Meeka put in for them to win it, and I hope that they will be on sale. House Fidante has really outdone itself, as has House Grayson, and all the Houses are worthy of respect. I applaud all the winners, however my taste is my own, and thus I will write this for the future, of those who might wish to know my delicate tastes. People seemed to like my own wine, perhaps. But to me that is not important. What is important, is that it is consecrated before Mangata, and allowed for its sale. And I hope everyone's creation finds a way to the market.

Mother's Spiced Cider is a delicious winter treat and while it didn't take a prize at the contest tonight, I'm pleased that it was popular! It's a much creamier taste than the apple ciders produced at the Twainfort, and the ginger gives it just a nice bit of spice.
It was a very nice party, spent in charming company. I should come up with a way for Mistress Acacia to earn her wager back!
Now if only my face would stop tingling... this was way more alcohol than I usually drink in an evening ... ooo, I hope I don't regret it tomorrow.

The weeks come and go and the Shavs draw ever closer to our City. But it is my earnest hope that we will be able to fight them off. I'm sure we will, but I worry for what it will cost us. I've dedicated all my time in the Guard to assisting with training. I hope that I can pass on much of what I know. My sister supports me, but she worries moreso about my safety, and wishes I did not have to be involved at all, but she said she will be there to assist people, and use her knowledge of medicine. I trust in her, and I trust in our leaders to march us.

The Lord Commander of the Iron Guard has led us through some rough times, but I am glad to have him around. He seems happy with my quite successful recruitment drive. Hopefully if I keep on with my training, I can eventually become a full Officer in their ranks to assist more.
