On my desk is a message that I had penned to you but didn't find the time to send. I read the book you left. I refuse to believe that so soon after we were reconnected that you would be lost again. I will lend your family whatever help that I'm able to lend and I will pray to the gods that you find a way back to the Compact and back to your family.

The Redrain Open Court was quite wonderful! Catching up with family I have not seen in a handful of years mixed with lovely new faces and all manner of fascinating discussions? Truly, it is a wonder my mouth does not hurt from smiling and my neck from looking to and fro! I would not change it for anything and could not feel any more fortunate for having been able to be there. His Grace was too kind to mention my recent arrival to the city. Duke Cristoph, a cousin via my mother's Laurent heritage, could not have been warmer as we reacquainted. Princess Marian is all and more of what the tales told of her. I briefly discussed clothing with Mistress Petal as well as traded small stories about flavored ice with Lord Ian Kennex and Princess Consort Alarissa. Ah, but I could go on all day mentioning the great conversations I had and with whom, but suffice it to say, the whole gathering felt warm and welcoming, which I imagine was His Grace's intent. It is a memory I will treasure, especially hearing of such beloved members of Arx lost to us and the heavy or wondering hearts they leave behind.

This is a selection of sketches of the island of Blackshore, where it was destroyed. The lifeless rock, the beaches turned to glass. Underneath it Sparte has written the following.
'The destruction was complete, but by our measure no more than a five mile area suffered it. The rest of the island was verdant, healthy, ready for life. Initial examination of the old Blackshore holdings show that the area was struck with an immense, incredible heat. Something so great as to turn the entire beaches to sand nearby. The destruction was absolutely complete. We dug to verify, the damage was etched into the very foundation where Blackshore once stood. At this time I cannot speculate on just how much heat would be needed to create this effect, or what could cause it. This is perhaps the third recorded event like it, and the smallest.

It is done. After nearly two years of effort, the Harrowed Heart program has fully been implement in Arx. I am blessed that dearest Cybele so wisely helped me put it together and trained to many. I am blessed by the efforts of dearest Saedrus and Radiant Selene, who raised funds and who saw the Whispers involvement in treating some of the worst emotional trauma cases. Dearest Eirene helped spread awareness and used her clout to gather momentum.
So many generously lent their influence to aid the effort. It is only fit to publicly acknowledge them. Please know that my gratitude is immense and that you've helped to help so money.

As per the terms of the agreement between Lady Monique Greenmarch and myself, I stand (wirte?) before you all to admit that I have overreacted in the matter involving Lady Monique Greenmarch and what I perceived as disrespect to my brother, Prince Edain Valardin.
And, as also requested, I admit that it is true that I am not equipped to see his faults. I will go a step further and admit that when I look at Prince Edain, it is not faults that I am able to see or even look for. I see my brother. I see my liege. I see the once young..er man who dreamed of being a Knight Errant. Obviously that was not to be, and he is now the Oathland's Highlord. A mantle he never wanted or expected, but has worn as best he can. And while I am sure he has made mistakes, I am and will remain as his staunchest Champion.
Therefore, Lady Monique, I humbly offer my apologies for my failure to see past that and to his faults. As I know we all have them. And for overreacting.
And, I also thank Beaumont for his representation. He and Agnarr both fought extremely well; and we are all glad that he doesn't have a scar to mar his facial perfection.

Held a most productive open court this morning and I can say I was thrilled to see how many people turned out and participated. I am greatly appreciative to all who came by and to my family who attended to support House Redrain. Thank you all.
Come to think of it, it is possible some non-Redrain attended to see if a Northlands Open Court would end with a bear wrestling match or something. It occurs to me I may have disappointed people. Perhaps next time.

Returned to the city, donated most recent journals to archives. Napped. Had a drink and met some people. Realized there may yet be places in the city that, while not secret, have not yet been seen by my eyes directly. Maybe I will stay a while.
