Relationship Note on Tikva
Someone said they hadn't seen me since my wedding and asked if my wife was really that enchanting. While it wasn't my wife keeping me from the public eye the answer is yes.
Princess Tikva Grayson is the most enchanting woman I have met. I can hardly express the whole of her that I have fallen in love with. At the very beginning she was simply a kind person who was patient with me during my despair. Tiber was a bright force for joy. A tiny little terror that it was amusing to watch his mother try to handle. Then I started to enjoy watching her lose her composure over small things.
I once startled her in the Badger while she was writing, and she ended up with ink all over herself. I'm certain she would call me terrible for saying this: It was absolutely amusing, and endearing.
And then I started poking at that composure. She called me terrible and I played that up as much as I could. Until one day I realized that she had dragged me up from the darkness. Now, be sure Scholar, it was not only her doing. I am blessed with a loving family and many good friends, who all helped me through this. And Tikva herself would be outraged if she thought I was living only for her.
But when I think of living, I think of all the things she has given me and taught me. The things I have learned about myself with her. The things she has taught me to deal with despair. The ways she has helped me find reasons to live. The way I have learned not to let love-- however brightly it burns --consume me until there is nothing less.
Yes, Tikva Grayson is enchanting.

For an ordinary man, sure, a raised voice might work. I could probably subdue with a pout.
For an unabashed cur like Talen, other methods are required. My raised voice makes him laugh. My pouts make him amorous. Not that that is usually a problem, but in the depths of pique, it can be distracting.

Relationship Note on Tikva
Without any place for debate, the highlight of my day amidst other duties was witnessing Tikva turn a Question and Answers meeting regarding the Ministry of Civil Development into a ballroom party of sorts -- or perhaps just a general dancing party. If I was asked whomever in the Arvium could do such a thing, I would've guessed Tikva.

Meeting Lady Tikva was like meeting a younger version of myself, at first. I have been accused of smiling too much, at times, but here is someone who can match me smile for smile, and what a delight it is. I thank Limerance for guiding me here, that I could meet this young woman and help, in some small way, to banish the clouds that dampened that ready smile. Hers was the first vow I've overseen since my return, and I could not ask for a greater honor.

When I first met Lady Tikva Riven I became infatuated with and what I thought she was. Her personality crashed hard against me my own and... I could very well love who she really is. Now that I have begun to see past the first brushes, past the outward layers. I'm beyond infatuation now to true respect and adoration.

It is like home to hear the Heron Lady. We did not keep words on paper with ink. There it was songs. Our lives were with music. My own Temmas had a voice that could bring the sun from behind clouds. Tikva is like this. She brings smiles and songs. She is sunshine and her little lord is very lucky to have such a mother. Little things grow best in sunlight.

Met the lovely Lady Tikva in the Grotto. Unbeknownst to me, she witnessed my duel with Michael some months previously and immortalized the deed in song!

Relationship Note on Tikva
Lady Tikva possesses a youthful energy that is refreshing during a siege. No doubt that energy is what gives her the motivation to perform the duties which she does. She cares a great deal and finds the tales of others refreshing, which in many cases I would find to be intrusive and altogether unwelcome. When she asks however it seems out of genuine curiosity rather than some attempt at gathering information for her own uses. I look forward to learning more of her and the Riven's in general. Aside from her personality she is apparently a scout of some sort, which is a decidedly dangerous role from a military standpoint due to so often being separate of a larger military force and often rather close to, or even behind, enemy lines.
I'll pray to the gods for her continued safety.
