Relationship Note on Petal
It was so kind of Mistress petal to give me advice in setting up shop in the city. She is so caring and just all around wonderful. And so, with the help of her and Mistress Joscelin. I will be opening business soon. The plan will be to have a shop and infirmary for those who are in need. and I hope that it all goes so well. I am so glad to be here in the city and to have made so many friends.

I am pleased that I was able to purchase one of those remarkable mysterious gowns today from Mistress Petal. It is truly a stunning work of art, which goes well with my dawnstone pendant. Now, I only need to find a suitable place to wear such an extravagant thing. It is a little bit outside my normal preferred style. Perhaps a Lycene party of some variety?
On a similar vein, the beautiful gown that Dawn gave to me has gone missing. It's a shame. Some things can never be replaced. Still, perhaps Mistress Petal can help me come up with something at least comparable. I have invited her to tea to discuss the details, and I am very much looking forward to it.

About two months ago I was shopping around and lamenting the lack of fine mens clothing sans unnecessary embroidery and flourish.
I happened upon the Tangled Skein and the proprietor, Petal, overheard a discussion I was having with...mm...I forgot the lady's name - but she was a staid sort.
Amidst the banter, Petal quietly made some suggestions for my dress and I thanked her. I stepped away and had not followed up since. I had, in fact, nearly forgotten.
Well the clever designer had not forgotten and she, the talented artisan, busy as she is, quite remembered me! and our discussion. Tonight she sent me the first article: a silken tunic, ivory in color. I could not be more pleased. It is a fine garment indeed.

Just tossing it out there, but the owner of the Tangled Skein does amazing work with imported steelsilk. It's rare I wear anything armor-like off the full battlefield, but these are light enough even for my lazy tastes and yet strong enough to block a blade. Someday I'll manage the rest of the set.

Mistress Petal has one of the purest hearts I've ever seen in a person. I think that's important, to have a big heart and a desire to make a difference in the world. I think she's going to achieve much in her life, and I'm glad to know her.

Yes, what Petal said at the ceremony about the deeds of some in Thrax may have been unpolitic to say, but I cannot help but note that what she said is not untrue. I can find little offense in the truth, though I judge none of my fealty who do take it. But this is life in the Thrax, or it was. The children I played with as a child were felled with axe, the same as saplings uprooted to make way for a new field of corn. No prayer, no amount of offense that I take, no raging or complaint will bring them back.
I understand the offense Princess Alarissa took - I think she wishes we were not those things. And she has had no hand in those deeds, and does not bear our name. I myself have been away from Thrax for a long time, but I am returned and I take that history as much as I embrace any other part of us. If we wish to stop being remembered for such things, we must not do such things. If we wish to do such things, then we must accept people will remember. Trying to have it both ways will end only in tears.
