A fantastic job done by Princess Katarina this evening! The snow war was a rousing success and my teammates led us to a glorious victory! (Hah! Cullen! Take that!) The Archlector Etienne must have blessed our ice castle because it stood against the other teams. Princess Terese was a fierce leader! But it was Princess Astraea who truly won the day for us. She was a fierce snow maiden!
And then Jamie arrived. Sigh. I don't know that I've ever been so glad to see anyone. /No one/ else may call me Spark, for the record. Not unless they want to face certain doom. His arrival was the sign I was waiting for, I think.

In other news, the Whisper Ball was incredible! I had a fabulous time dancing with a /wonderful/ partner. I think only seven of my toes got bruised, and two bruises on my hips. All in all, their hospitality is renowned for a reason, and Bliss Whisper, the newest Softest Whisper, proved that tonight.

I don’t think it’s a question of whether I could be getting married again, it’s whether I should be getting married again. The future’s a big unknown for me. Five days until my birthday. I don't think I thought to live this long. Nor did I think all the things that have happened in the past year would have happened to me.
It has been a year of the greatest joy I have ever known, and the deepest sorrow; a year of family returning, new friends, and laughter; a year in which I have done things I regret, and things I am proud of.
Starting over this year, I keep in the top of my mind the following:
Great things do not come from realms of comfort, and when there is nothing left to lose, there is everything to gain.
It has been a year of the greatest joy I have ever known, and the deepest sorrow; a year of family returning, new friends, and laughter; a year in which I have done things I regret, and things I am proud of.
Starting over this year, I keep in the top of my mind the following:

I feel as though there must be some honor in me, if a man like Count Kael Keaton is willing to allow my assistance in his noble endeavor. It is my greatest desire not to let him down. To that end, I will be fundraising a substantial amount of silver to provide scholarships for those prospective warriors and knights from the Lowers who wish to enroll in Count Keaton's Academy of War and may not have the tuition to do so. These people are no less heroic, no less brave for their lack of coin. They are deserving and I can think of no finer example to give them of all that they may become than the Count of Keaton.
But this is not something I can do on my own.
