I could not be more excited to claim a copy of The Baron's Muse Part II! I'm not all that far in yet, but I already know I am going to be looking forward to Part III. One might think that after hours at the ledgers and other such written things, the last pastime I might take up would be even more reading. I just adore this story. The chair in the first book? I want a chair like that. In any case, just a quick note in case this mystery author might peruse the whites - love the books!

I could not agree more! The Baron's Muse is a tale I have found myself utterly caught up in and I can hardly wait for all of the books that may come in the series. I, too, must thank both the bright Gilded Page muse herself, Lady Monique, as well as the mystery author, Storm Knight. Sometimes it is nice to steal away a little bit of time for such pleasant reading.

Relationship Note on Kritr
The Clearlake Spring Festival was marvelous! I have not had the opportunity to see log-throwing since coming to Arx and it was quite exciting to watch. The paired contest, too, was so much fun to observe and I am sad now that I did not think to participate. That just makes me look all the more forward to next time! Seeing friends both old and new, as well as such a diverse group, made the event even more joyful. Overall, I was far more an observer than a participant, which is unusual for me, but I sincerely had a wonderful time and thought to note my thanks to the esteemed Baron of Clearlake for an exceptionally run evening.

The Gilded Page is, quite truly, one of my favorite places in the city and you've every right to be quite proud of it. While I am somewhat saddened at the lack of a blush, I am yet mollified that such words in the whites might inspire the author! I would very happily pay for Part II - supporting the artists and creative minds of the city is so important. As well, I would at least avoid the potential bruises that might result from the mad rush to purchase it when it might be released. I am both humbled and honored by the offer - thank you quite kindly!

I have managed a copy of The Baron's Muse Part I by Storm Knight. While I don't often get time to just sit and get lost in a book, I will need to do so much more often. Already? I am hooked and will probably find myself pining for a Part II far too soon.
The highlight of my day, however, came in the form of the most thoughtful gift from someone I hardly deserve. A stunning silver birch leaf necklace with the darkest sapphire I think I have ever seen. It is like having a little piece of the night sky for my very own and I will probably never take it off.

It is a testament to the exceptional Lady Monique that every time I hear about an upcoming book, it is completely snatched up from the Gilded Page. Truly, she runs an amazing bookstore that is surely the must-visit stop of near everyone in the city. It seems near impossible to purchase a book at times - I've half a mind to camp out before the establishment! Though I jest. Still, The Baron's Muse Part I sounds so intriguing! I am envious of all those people who managed to fetch themselves one copy.

I had a most production and wonderful breakfast with Lord Aethan Kennex, about a possible small pet project of mine. The path that lead to us being acquaintances is, perhaps, a little odd, but his professional knowledge and suggestions today were exactly what I had needed. I feel I have completed the first tiny step in this endeavor, which is very exciting. That he had agreed to my offer of patronage makes this all the more rewarding.

I had the pleasure of accompanying Prince Lorenzo to the wedding reception of his brother, Lord Alessandro, and Lady Margret. What an exquisite affair! The winter theme nearly made my heart ache for Farhaven, so true to a beautiful winter forest it was. Such warmth, too, not just from the braziers meant to stave off the cold, or lovely mulled wine, but from the entire Greenmarch family as well as my own dear friends and family. The newlyweds could not have looked happier or more content; I sincerely think that joy will be with them for many years yet to come. Truly, I took away so many wonderful memories, laughs, and special moments that I can hardly put them all to parchment. It was an enchanting night.

Some of my favorite times since leaving Farhaven for Arx is when family ends up gathered in the dining room for just an unexpected snack or meal. Not an official meeting or ordained dinner, but just a small supper of sorts where we catch up on the smaller things, the personal doings; a brief respite from our various duties to just be family.

Relationship Note on Khanne
There are days that you just need a little something to brighten it, sometimes with out even really realizing it. You just feel blah or tired or what have you. The ledgers don't feel fun or the like. In any case, I don't have such days often, but on at least two of them, I have received a surprise from the extraordinary Lady Khanne. A generous woman who is, herself, a bright spirit, I am so grateful for her kindness. Some time ago she sent me the most adorable otter paperweight, which sits on my desk to this very day. Today? Candy! Not just any candy, but some from Mistress Lottie's shop that was made to look like an icicle. I love it! And needed it today, it seems. Truly, they don't come much more wonderful than Lady Khanne.

Relationship Note on Marian
For all that she has done for House Redrain and countless others across the city, never mind for me personally, my recording of how grateful I am for Princess Marian is perhaps quite overdue. She is genuinely one of the most selfless people I know who is always willing to teach those who wish to better themselves. It does not seem to matter if those may be in pursuits of the martial - of which she is deservedly renown - or otherwise. Marian cares deeply for people and their circumstances, her heart truly with them whether they be Redrain or not. I've had the honor to accompany her on a few endeavors and see this for myself. For a woman who has known such great tragedies in her time, who might have let her heart be hardened by them, she instead embraces life all the more, I think. Though, perhaps, I get a bit overly poetic and do not mean to be. I think we would be hard-pressed to find someone to equal her knowledge, efficiency, and expertise as a War Chief. Her support of me has been unwavering, whether with advise or just a kind word offering to be there if I might need her, and I'm so grateful to call her both family and friend.

The Whisper Ball was an extraordinary event, as was the always charming company of Prince Lorenzo. While I have some skill in dancing, what was put on by the famed Whisper Bliss and the House was amazing and enough to keep us from partaking ourselves. Perhaps, however, I will add further lessons to my own list of things to learn. The evening was delightful, but one can only slip away for so long before returning to focus on matters of the day.
My heart feels heavy and for a number of reasons, yet I find myself unwilling to give up on hope. Much could be said, and much has been in eloquent, pained, and passionate entries already. Instead, I recall a quote I read long ago and hope never to forget:
"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending."

I rarely speak of my heartbreak from Farhaven. A tale many have, of silly young love that ends poorly. Time, I think, is the only thing that allows one to overcome such a thing. How much? It will be on a Tuesday. I don't know which Tuesday, in which month or which year, but some Tuesday, one will realize it no longer bothers them. Until then, one can only remind themselves that they only control themselves. When someone's care for them fades, then that speaks to that other person's feelings and, likely, nothing one particularly did or didn't do in most cases. As well, with a rather minimal twenty-two years of life under my belt, perhaps I've much yet to learn on the topic.
