Reedy, a King's Own aide arrives, following Corban.

Florian arrives, following Derovai.

Disciple Isabeau, Grace, a twittering songbird, 2 Faith of the Pantheon trained guards, 2 Faith of the Pantheon novice guards arrive, following Orazio.

The bedrolls set, the feast prepared and the final days of spring bringing a fragrant warmth to the metal-walled shrine. Etienne stands as always in his coat of office, as shiny as the surrounding shrine. The center piece of the large open air room is, of course, the stunning altar of platinum and dragonweep.

Etienne stands just in front of the altar, hands outreached and a friendly smile on his face. "Welcome everyone to the celebration of the Silver Day" he says enthusiastically. "Today we celebrate the coming of summer ,and as Lagoma teaches, us the cycle of change, and renewal that continues tirelessly throughout the year. I welcome you all to the shrine to share in Gild's hospitality and sanctuary throughout the night. A few words from Legate Ailith, and we will have a fine feast, refreshments, light entertainment, and comfortable places to rest so please make yourself at home."

Quenia quietly slips into the shrine and takes a seat at one of the benches.

Quenia has joined the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

Princess Sally Acorn, an acorn toting red squirrel, Princess Muffin, the fluffiest white puppy arrive, following Kenna.

2 Grayson House Guards, Elizabetta, a disapproving lady-in-waiting, Lily, an aloof lady-in-waiting, Clark, an exasperated guard arrive, following Sabella.

Sam, who is a boy and definitely not a princess in disguise, Sabella arrive, following Niklas.

Waldemai bobs his head, as though the thought of feasting sounds like a good idea.

Orazio makes his way into the Shrine of Gild, eyes traveling first to the fine altar and then to the priests who are running the show. Rather than make a big production out of arriving, the Dominus is quiet and moves to one side, choosing a seat at one of the benches and settling in.

Sable has slipped into the shrine and is staying back for now. She looks kind of uncomfortable. Arms crossed over her stomach, she waits and watches. Her gaze slides over to the altar, and she blinks.

Slowly striding into the shrine in his time-worn clothing, Victus Thrax ambles within. He holds a hand close to his face as if a shrine of such glittering beauty could hurt his eyes. Perhaps it is, from how he squints and keeps his vision close to the ground. His cat sits atop his shoulder while his hound marches steadily at his side. The shrine of course gets an appraising eye, but otherwise the Thrax is quick to find himself a spot to hunker down.

Monique is here already, wearing leathers instead of a gown, her fire-bright hair tied into a thick cable that falls down her back. The lovely Greenmarch is perched in the front row, her emerald eyes upon the Archlector at the front of the room, warm and avid, shining with visible pride.

Shard enters quietly, her expression dubious at best. It doesn't look as though she intends to make herself at home just yet, but she's certainly watching with a distinct intensity.

Princess Sally Acorn, an acorn toting red squirrel, Princess Muffin, the fluffiest white puppy leave, following Kenna.

Derovai strides in, finding a place to lean against the back wall, arms folded. He eyes that altar with something other than awe, not bothering to hide his thoughts on the matter, studying all that finery with unabated skepticism. He looks alongside to Sable, staying back as he is, and laughs a little at her blinking. "Don't worry. You'll get over it. I have," he murmurs quietly to the woman.

As a brother in arms with the Knights of Solace, Bedivere shows up with the colorful tabard over his armoring garb. He protectively holds his right arm (with the nubby stump) close up against him. His left hand is extra animated with goodnatured waves toward everyone here, even if he does not know them. Yet.

A huge hideously ugly mastiff, a Solace acolyte named Pyotr, 1 Templar Knight guards arrive, following Thena.

Among those entering is Alessandro; he stops a little bit inside to scan those gathered, and catching sight of someone familiar, he heads up the aisle to where Monique is sitting, settling in beside her and giving her a nod and a smile, though he does not speak, turning instead to Etienne as the Archlector begins to speak.

Corban makes his way into the Shrine to support his Blessed Brother, settling into one of the pews in his shining silver armor to hear the sermon.

Lethe quietly enters the shrine and takes a curious look around. She makes her way to one of the benches.

Lethe has joined the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

Sable has joined the Evenly Spaced Lagoma Colored Bedding.

Derovai has joined the Evenly Spaced Lagoma Colored Bedding.

Capri arrives to the Shrine of Gild, hands stuffed into his pockets as he stands in the back. The De Lire's green eyes keep his designs to himself, as does his passive expression, though a nod is given to Shard as she enters.

Octavian, a silken spaniel arrives, following Zoey.

Thena slips quietly in, though she has her more showy black leather armor on, with the embroidery and symbols on the cuirass denoting her place in the Faith. She takes a seat on one of the benches.

Monique has joined the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

Alessandro has joined the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

Niklas sweeps on in with Sabella on his arm, followed by their retinue, including a new assistant for whom Niklas is offering a running commentary. "...is the shrine of Gild, where, I mean, you know who Gild is." He looks around and adds, "Lets see. That's Dominus Orazio, who probably is too busy to answer your questions now. So I guess that's Legate Ailith's job now. Congragulations, Legate! And that's Archlector Etienne of Gild, who seems like a very nice, if sleepy, fellow." He looks around and points at Derovai, "And that is a bad person, avoid him." Sam just nods along to this, half-paying attention. To Sabella, Niklas says, "Shall we sit with Lord Alessandro, my heart?"

Cora was already here sitting on a bench, and not wearing armor tonight as it happens. She rests her back against the wall and speaks quietly to Victus but otherwise isn't saying much.

Sable speaks quietly to Derovai, frowning. Which, well... rude.

The glint of candlelight plays with the gilden and silver accents of the shrine and of the priestly robes. Scents of various cuisines, a feast near comparable to Harvest Day, wafts and mingles with the subtle aromas of summer bouquets and incense. The Legate of Concepts strides forth when mentioned, smiling brightly to the Archlector of Gild. "The Knights of Solace and Blessed Etienne have certainly outdone themselves this year by this feast and warm invitation to all in the Compact. High Sun is among my favorite holidays when people of the Compact, no matter of what stature, may come together in communal celebration of Lagoma and Gild, honoring the season and Gild's aspect of hospitality and sanctuary. As we light the candle in honor of our Goddesses, I ask that we all honor Guest Right and seek the comforts in our neighbors." She pivots to light the centerpiece candle upon the altar as the disciples, in turn, light the remaining smaller candles laid out across the various feast tables. The silvery and golden light creates a divine halo around the assembled. Ailith bows her head, giving thanks to Lagoma and Gild, then raises her arms, "May we all remember together in charity our community and Faith brightens the way through dark and troubled times. Together we lift another's spirits and find respite and sanctuary. In their names, we praise." And after a short moment, permitting all time enough for their own prayers, she joyfully proclaims, "Let us enjoy this feast together as brothers and sisters in Faith. Welcome, all."

Derovai offers Niklas' comment a bright grin, calling from the wall, "I'm a man who /still/ hasn't gotten that portrait that supposedly exists, Your Highness. I'm told it was quite a sight, but by this point, I'm beginning to think it was only a mirage. Prove me wrong," he remarks, and then raises a brow at something Sable says. He says something back to her, his gloved hands raising to mark finger quotes about something he notes quietly to her, although he does shut up in time for Ailith's speech.

Monique tears her shining eyes away from the Archlector and the spectacular shrine long enough to greet her beloved cousin and make space alongside her for Alessandro. She leans in to murmur something low, happiness uncontained in her smile. There's a wave to Coraline too, when Mo spies the Thraxian Warrior Princess. Then the Minx falls silent to listen to Ailith.

Octavian, a silken spaniel arrives, following Zoey.

The waved greeting from Monique is returned warmly, though Cora's attention returns to Ailith as well as she listens respectfully.

Zoey enters the shrine quietly, a bottle of blackberry brandy dangling from the fingers of one hand. Her expression is curious, brows lofting slightly as she takes in the crowd. Black silks whisper against the golden floor, marking her movement to place that is hopefully out of the way.

Corban moves so that he settles on one of the benches as Mother Ailith, the former direct spritiual advisor to the King's Own, speaks. There is a small smile at the sermon and a dip of his head in agreement at the sentiment.

That confident stride of his was possibly getting known, it is Richard who like every other event, he stands by the side with two hands behind his back, as he observes.

Victus' eyes rest solely upon Ailith her sermon carries on. When there is a lull of silence he slowly raises his hands up. There's hesitation in him. Does he clap? Is this an affair where clapping is appropriate? Does it matter? With a few quick shifts of his eyes, he gives one firm clap of his hands together and leaves it at that. His attention turns back to Coraline as they continue on their conversation.

Whatever is murmured to him by Monique gets a little wider smile from Alessandro, and he murmurs something back, before the sound of his name catches his attention, and he turns to look over his shoulder, spotting Niklas and Sabella. He lifts a hand to wave, and gestures for them both to come join, before he turns to Quenia sitting at the bench as well, inclining his head to her in greeting. He then turns to listen to Ailith speak.

Sabella nods to Niklas and seems about to say something, but then Ailith is speaking and she gives her and basically everyone else a smile as she heads towards the bench to have a seat, whispering something so as to politely talk while important people are talking. Or something like that.

Sabella has joined the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

Niklas has joined the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

Whenever possible, Richard performs a flouriahing bow to those he know better. More simple to those he didn't. "Hello." Are the only words that come from the big guy.

Orazio listens to the sermon carefully, nodding his head at all the appropriate places. When she prays, he bows his head respectfully. He wastes little time speaking to others - perhaps he's simply there for the sermon. At least for now.

Etienne thanks Ailith for her words and steps back in front of the altar. He pauses, folding his hands in front of him and begins to speak, "Gild represents the best in us, our giving, our selflessness, our desire to build, expand, and spread prosperity to all that can be reached. It's in that spirit that we open our doors, and invite in all comers to share with us what we have to offer and take from us what we can give. Each of us is guided along in our journey by the ideals set forth, and while the roads may be fraught with danger and uncertainty, know that those that serve Gild stand ready along the path to give help and guidance. Tonight we celebrate with feasts and fun, and each day the next step in our journey continues. As we're reminded of those who need our generosity let us not forget the spiritual necessities, and find our personal wealth of spirit that may help, heal, and nourish others." having spoken for what seems like forever he looks to the sides of the room where the food is laid out, "Speaking of nourishment, please, feast! The games will begin shortly."

Attendants mingle among the guests, offering to bring platters of any requested feast fare or refreshment. One bows before Niklas and Sabella and murmurs to ask of their order so both may enjoy the comforts of their seat and the conversation by their table.

Ailith chuckles upon notice of whom claps and cheekily she cracks a broad smile in Victus' direction. "That's the spirit," she proclaims. There's a whisper to Etienne, a proud smile shown, before she departs from the altar to approach the Highlord as the festivities have begun. She pulls a small pink rectangle wrapped in wax from her sleeve and extends it to Victus.

Bedivere gives thanks to Gild and Lagoma. He lets others go before him, since he flips around the age before beauty colloquialism, motioning out toward the feast food to encourage others to go forth and dine!

Shard's eyes narrow faintly as she listens, but she does little else. Not even her dour expression really changes, for better or for worse. When the feasting begins, she makes no move to join in. Not yet, anyway.

Sable stays back for the moment, talking quietly with Derovai. After a bit of a staredown, anyway.

Monique applauds wildly. It's embarrassing, really, but the Minx is enthusiastic. Maybe it's the prospect of feasting. "Wait until you guys play the games of the night," she says to her friends near by. "I'm going to win." There's a cocky grin to go with her ample boasting.

Waldemai passes straight over the fancy desserts and goes for that summertime dining classic, fried chicken. "Protein," he explains to anyone who will listen.

Well, when there's wine... Capri steps away from Shard and the back of the room to meander over to the tables, helping himself to booze. It's easier for him, as he doesn't recognise anyone about, so his concentration can be focused on eating and drinks.

Alessandro has left the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

Rodrigo have been dismissed.

1 Greenmarch Guard have been dismissed.

Orazio eschews the table, instead moving over to Etienne. "I won't stay long," he says to the Archlector of Gild. "But I wanted to come for the sermon and the worship." He gives Etienne a wry smile. "Though I'll skip the games, these old bones aren't exactly ready for party games."

Monique is overheard praising Etienne: Wonderful. I'm not biased at all.

Monique is overheard praising Ailith: Excellent sermon!

"Of course, there is why we call it silver," says Corban to no one in particular, to the people around him. "In honor of the great sacrifice that was made in Solace Square." It is an idle thought, on the breeze, before he gets himself some snacks.

Thena makes her way towards the table, but stops short of it to fetch up next to Bedivere, who seems to have been her goal all along. "Lord Bedivere. It's good to see you again."

"Dominus, you underestimate yourself! The good Lady Greenmarch didn't say they were only games of physical sport. I figure you'd stand half a chance at the games of wit," Derovai remarks to Orazio from his conversation with Sable, the staredown seeming to have abated by now. He even laughs a little at something the woman with whom he's speaking says.

Ailith is overheard praising Faith of the pantheon: A wondrous High Sun put forth by the Knights of Solace and Archlector Etienne.

Victus stands on Ailith's approach, a thin grin having etched itself onto his features the closer she got. "Did you get me a gift?" He asked. "Weren't /you/ the one who got the promotion? I think this is a little backwards, Legate."

Lethe gets a few different things to eat. "This all looks so good." She then finds a seat and enjoys the food.

Bedivere turns to Thena. "Greetings, Grandmaster Thena Grayhope. Meeting you at this glorious occassion is absolutely wonderful. I hope you are well?"

Ailith is overheard praising Solace: By the Knights of Solace and Archlector Etienne, all are welcome to the festivities as a reminder of charity and selflessness -- profound words by the Archlector.

"Thank you for coming Dominus" Etienne says with a large smile on his face. "I assure you the games are not strenuous, if you wanted to attempt them. They all involve coins!" the cheerful expression at the mention of silver blooms across his face and he chuckles lightly.

Once it's pointed out, Sabella gets up and heads towards the table with food so quickly that she nearly bumps into Capri, "Oh! Apologies. The walk over here was just very long and I thought maybe there wouldn't be food and now there's just a bunch of food and I can't believe how hungry I am but I feel famished!" She puts a hand on her ever expanding stomach with a laugh, "They aren't lying about eating for two. And I think I will, if you'll excuse me."

"Busy. The usual. Wasn't sure I'd be able to escape for this, but I was able to give my assistant the slip." Thena casts an arch gaze over towards set assistant, who has managed to track her down anyway, then turns her attention back to Bedivere. "And you?"

"I will have you know that the Dominus once came in second in a murder mystery game Dame Felicia held." Niklas gives Derovai a sage nod, then adds, "He didn't do so well at the contest where you had to climb the stairs with the weights on." Niklas watches as Sabella goes to get some food, then sits back and savors his pricey booze. "I'll play anything that doesn't require standing."

Monique rises from her seat alongside Sabella but instead of heading for food, she makes her way to Etienne, waiting respectfully for Orazio to finish speaking before leaning in to murmur something to the Archlector of Gild. A hand slips up to squeeze his arm warmly.

Capri "No apologies needed at all, Your Highness. If anything, I was overly distracted by the food. And wine. Mostly the wine," Capri admits, leaning forward to grin. "Please, don't let me stand in your way." And with that, he steps about Sabella, moving onward down the table toward the whiskey.

Cora grins at Ailith, "You are moving better than I am right now Legate Ailith, or am I just a weenie?"

Alessandro has joined the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

"I would expect no less from the Archlector of Gild," replies Orazio, and he gives Derovai a nod and a considering look. "I did not expect as much, Master Voss. And yet I will let others participate and merely watch for a time. I have a great deal left to do today but I wouldn't have missed this for anything." Corban's comment has Orazio giving him a sharp look and commenting only, "As Arx endures, we remember." And then the Dominus is stepping toward Ailith. "Legate Ailith, nicely done. I see you are already settling into your new duties well."

Bedivere dips his head a bit to Thena after taking in her reply before then aiming his hazel eyes to her dark brown ones. "I am well as can be expected. Everyone in my family and in the Knights of Solace has been quite supportive, and my twin teens are both healthy and growing up faster than I can keep up. Good overall."

Sable looks over curious at Orazio as Derovai addresses him; she nods to the Dominus, her brow slightly furrowed.

Shard's expression has a flicker of a scowl to it for a moment, there and gone.

Etienne shows remarkable restraint when it comes to the lavish spread of foods currently on display, he stands, hands clasped behind him watching people pile their plates with delicious looking goods. He smiles at Monique and leans in to continue the conversation.

"Wine is always a good reason!" Sabella starts piling things onto a plate. Lots of bread. And bread spreads. And meat. Is that cheese? That's going on there too. "Princess Sabella Grayson," she introduces to Capri and anyone nearby really, trying a bit of some cheese, "Mmm this is really good. It's been like four months since I could stomach cheese and now I need to make up for lost time!"

Derovai grins brightly at Orazio's response, glancing his way. "Come, you have to play. I'll challenge you to a game of wits, if you need an excuse. You might even beat me." But the offer seems only half-serious, because he's still engaged in a conversation with Sable, a hand on his chin in a pantomime of thought, before he murmurs something quietly to the woman.

Quenia smiles encouragingly at Ailith, as she's finished speaking and now mingling with guests, and lifts her fingers in a light wave. She doesn't get up to interrupt the newly minted Legate, however. Instead, she quietly speaks to those seated at her bench while she waits for the other festivities.

"Lord Capri - de Lire," he adds the last around a charming-enough smile over his glass of whiskey. A bow is given, then he rises up. "I spotted an especially select platter of cheese over there, by the way. Behind the red wine."

Corban touches the visor of his barbute in acknowledgment of Orazio's response, a smile crossing his lips. Satisfied. No. Quite happy. But as he finishes up his snacks, Reedy approaches with a missive. He then glances at the exit. Weighing.

The last bit spoken by Capri, to Sabella.

Ailith bites back a further stretched smile before reaching to claim Victus' hand to slip that candied piece. "We've missed another like two ships in the night and I've meant to share this with you. And as it is High Sun, I find it more apropos for the occasion. A friend of mine gifted me these on my birthday, but the true gift was a memory of my family." Her words pitch lower while her eyes glisten. Stepping away, she glances at all who have gathered, bowing respectfully upon notice of Orazio among the crowd and especially then his approach. "Thank you, Your Most Holy. Today, it is all the Knights of Solace and Blessed Etienne's doing. I merely worked in the background to ensure certain traditions at the Palace continued." Then focusing back on Victus, briefly. "My heart is warm and full. All around the Compact, feasts as these are held, even at the Solace waystations where wearied travelers can find rest. And those too ill, baskets are delivered by disciples to families. Even now at the Palace, those deliveries are being made to staff in the Boroughs. It was a day when I was young, I knew I could eat. So please forgive if I get a tad optimistic," she blushes, "It's when I've seen divided communities come together and find peace for one night." It's Coraline's question that has her chuckling and rubbing a hand at her wrist. Her eyes dart away, a faint pink on her cheeks. "I've had an instructor who loved to prepare us for when our bodies are on the edge of being broken and push past that pain. Sir Corban could detail you on those lessons. You look well, though." She extends her hands to squeeze in welcoming, then smiles over Coraline's shoulder in notice of Quenia. Hello, there.

Lethe doesn't speak with any of the others. When she finishes eating she just sits silently.

Alessandro says something lower to Quenia before he stands up, starting toward the food as well, just in time to catch Capri's introduction -- and recommendation. Oh, was that meant for Sabella? Oh well! "Well spotted, my lord," he says with a nod of thanks, and he takes some of the cheese, putting it onto his own plate.

Cora takes that offered hand and smiles, "Ah yes, I remember her lessons if it is the same instrctor, mayhap I should practice that lesson more." She says grinning, "Blessed High Sun Legate." Orazio gets a respectful nod, "It is good to see you again Dominus, I wish the same happy day to yourself as well."

Monique laughs at whatever Etienne has said and waggles her fiery brows. "You just want me to fetch you some choice bits from the tables. You're lucky I'm so easily persuaded. You did wonderfully so I would have anyway. You had nothing to be nervous about, love." And she slips off to the buffet, joining up with Alessandro jovially.

Sabella gives Alessandro a look. It's not exactly murderous, but it's very pointed. She looks from his plate to the cheese that is now on it to the place where it was on the table. There's some left on the table of course, but there was MORE there before he took it! "Lord Alessandro," she says cheerfully, "Does Lady Margret like cheese?"

"Glad to hear it. Either of your twins interested in becoming a squire? Both?" Thena's question to Bedivere is accompanied with a brief flash of a grin to show she's...mostly...joking. "You're settling in all right then? Save travels from Hawkhold?"

Sable has left the Evenly Spaced Lagoma Colored Bedding.

Ailith chuckles brightly with Coraline. "The one and the same instructor. As I understood, we may still be welcomed for such early morning lessons. In fact, our instructor once teased that I'd encourage His Most Holy to join us as a means to bring him out from the Rectory. But I must thank you, again, for being there that night. Without your administrations, I may not be standing as I am now."

Capri glances between Alessandro and Sabella, before giving a grin at the former. "Of course, m'Lord, any observation I make is a pleasing one if it helps. And Your Highness, look - he took the last of the wheel of the Redrain chevre. Probably the best of the cheese available. Next time, mm?" he offers in a consoling manner.

Sable nods to something Derovai says and then she's moving away from the back wall and striding toward Thena and company. Her gait's a bit off, for those with a knack for such things. Right leg, stiff.

"Work is done, whether in the public eye or not," Orazio opines to Ailith. "And so my compliment stands. Grandmaster Thena, do you have anywhere in particular you are planning to be? I need a word with you - tonight, or tomorrow is fine. I also need to speak with your partner in crime, Grandmaster Preston. If he's up for conversation. I had heard he was wounded."

Bedivere does not seem to laugh or smile much but there is the reflection of humor in those hazel eyes. He quips back, "Perhaps. Am I allowed two squires?" Jesting as he does, he again dips his head before eye contact is made again, "Thank you for asking. I am well settled. Baron Silas, my nephew, has been absolutely good to me, as have all the other Whitehawks. I arrived safely, thankfully. What have you been involved in lately?"

Cora nods grinning, "Oh yes, I asked w are still invited to those early morning lessons, I don't make it as often as I like anymore, but even still I sometimes manage it." Cora chuckles, "Mayhap I will see you there some dark predawn morning." Turning more serious Cora smiles, "It was an honor to be able to help. You are an inspiration Legate."

The look from Sabella does stop Alessandro in his tracks -- he has one cheese square, but he was clearly about to take another, and he has now seriously rethought that decision. One is enough, apparently, and instead of taking that second one, he nods, and says, "She does, though she prefers hers sharper than this." \\

"Life pulls in a lot of directions. Not always social ones though." Victus muses in kind, taking the pink box in hand carefully. Surprisingly so. "Nonetheless, I never got the chance to say congratulations through written word. So congratulations here, in person. I was hard-pressed to think about someone I'd be more proud of than you stepping up to the challenge. You're worth more to some folks than ya' might ever know, Legate." He shares a word in passing as well, quiet and respectful.

Derovai smiles at Sable as she goes, but he raises his brows at Orazio's lack of response, shaking his head bemusedly. His gaze cuts towards Thena too, even if he doesn't move that way, and he settles back against the wall again, observing.

Etienne stands again, clearing his throat and waving enthusiastically. "Our first game! A coin toss!" Etienne unveils a basket, roughly four feet tall and the same width, there are a series of holes cut into the top of it, of various sizes a rope has been setup between two benches to serve a the throw line. "The premise is simple, toss the coin into a hole, the smaller the hole the more points you will accrue, three chances, highest point total wins! All the coins go toward the charities around the Compact."

Monique has joined the line.

Reedy, a King's Own aide leaves, following Corban.

Derovai has joined the line.

Luna, the sweet, studious assistant arrives, following Carita.

Thena tilts her head, a pantomime of deep consideration. "Perhaps, though everyone would be jealous of you having the best ones," before dispelling the expression and offering a genuine smile. "Silas is one of my favorite people. Oh, there's been...a lot. Quite a lot. It might be better to send you some notes rather than bore you to tears where you stand and keep you from the food as well." She notices Sable's approach and lifts a hand. "Hello again, Mistress Sable. No more trouble today I hope?" And then Orazio approaches and she sort of half-nods. "I wasn't planning to stay for long but I have a little time. Or tomorrow I'm free."

Waldemai gets up to get onto the coin tossing line, sees the first toss go straight through teh smallest hole, and sits his butt back down again. "I'll just make a donation," he says.

"Mmm. I'll have to send her some." Sabella says sweetly as she picks up that piece Alessandro is not taking. It balances precariously on top of the pile she has. When the games are announced she glances over, but ultimately decides to head back to the bench so she can stuff her face. Politely. Like a Princess. That's stuffing her face with food.

Turn in line: Monique

Bedivere has joined the line.

Niklas watches the game and muses, "Are they providing the coins? And it so, isn't the most winning move to take it, then go sit down?" Still, he claps when he friends get up and kind of kick some ass at coin tossing.

Orazio considers. "Tomorrow will be soon enough," he says. "Go enjoy the frivolity, and I will take my old-man bones home and finish the day's work." And with little furth ado he goes.

Capri checked dexterity + legerdemain at difficulty 40, rolling 7 higher.

Shard looks about as excited by the games as she does anything else--which is to say, not at all--but she does at last ease away from her chosen lurking spot near one of the walls and let her arms drop. The better to see? To eavesdrop? Maybe both. She doesn't move terribly far.

Bedivere almost smiled then, since the compliment was in credit to his children, but he soon speaks before the expression can even be made. "I do not bore, but we may wish to join the festivities, after all. Please, feel free to send me any documents you wish me to review. I have debriefed myself on all the membership documentation."

Turn in line: Bedivere

Monique departs the buffet almost at a run when games are announced. Minxes love games! She's front of the line, gathering up her coins. Flick. Flick. Fliiiiiick. Coin after coin slides into the smallest slot as Monique's dextrous fingers guide their flight.

Sable comes to a halt, glancing between Thena, Bedevire, and Orazio. "No more trouble today. Maybe a question later. You seem busy." The huntress glances over toward the coin toss, her brow furrowing. She watches Monique's throws, eyes slightly narrowed.

Disciple Isabeau, Grace, a twittering songbird, 2 Faith of the Pantheon trained guards, 2 Faith of the Pantheon novice guards leave, following Orazio.

Harlen arrives, following Duarte.

One, two three! Really, the count should've stopped at one, because one coin flips out of Capri's flick and makes it into the smallest hole there is. He lifts a glass of whiskey with his left hand in a salute, before stepping back to drink more.

Bedivere checked dexterity + legerdemain at difficulty 15, rolling 2 lower.

Derovai hits all three at the medium mark. The last two aren't the best of throws, but that first one was pretty good. He seems satisfied with his effort, motioning to Quenia, although when he sees the woman do better than he, he smiles a little, vaguely relieved. "Nicely thrown," he tells the Igniseri, moving to find himself a drink.

Bedivere checked dexterity + legerdemain at difficulty 40, rolling 26 lower.

Bedivere checked dexterity + legerdemain at difficulty 40, rolling 32 lower.

Ailith agrees with a nod to Coraline. "Perhaps we will see another at that," she half-pivots to gesture toward her grumpy disciple companion, Gaspard, "how he says ungodly hour." A short laugh. "We all are inspirations. If I recall, you've moved and inspired knights of your Order." To Victus, she responds in equal lower tones, respectful and friendly, before then saying aloud, "Thank you for your kind words. The Faith is stronger by our Legates, all who have left their inspiring marks on the Compact and shall continue to do so through the years." At the announcement of the games, she steps back to observe and perhaps applaud.

With only one hand, Bedivere proves he is not very adept at these tricky skills but still tries his durnedest to compete for the fun of it all anyway!

Bedivere says, "My right was my primary! Oh well!"

"Come chat with me when you get settled in properly an we'll go over everything," Thena tells Bedivere, and then lets him off the hook to join the games. She tilts her head to Sable, clearly glancing between her and the acolyte who tails her, the acolyte is giving her pointed looks. "If it's a quick question I'm happy to take a crack at it right now. But I'd also be glad to catch you a bit later when there's less-" She geatures helplessly at the crowd.

Quenia steps in and very carefully tosses the coin. Mostly, she does a light flick of the wrist, and seems to have had some practice at it as most of her coins go right where she wants them to.

"I am sure she will appreciate it," Alessandro says with just a hint of dryness, though he's also amused as he sits down, too, to watch the contest. He applauds for Monique, watching the others with interest, though Bedivere gets a little sympathetic wince. "Much better than I would have done," he calls to the man.

Sable glances now from Thena to the shining altar, then back. "...Probably not quick, no. Maybe I'll send a messenger." That said, she frowns again and looks over at the feast laid out. Is that apple pie? Hmmn. Tempting. "Take care," she tells Thena, and then she's moving toward the food. Her growling stomach is possibly audible.

Etienne applauds the players and the coins as they go into the basket. "Well done!" he congratulates them. "Quite the adept crowd, it seems I made the challenge a bit too easy, perhaps next time I should provide distraction, or but the basket farther away." he smiles wide and friendly as he says this.

Confessor Imori, Confessor Warren, 5 Armed Confessors arrive, following Tikva.

"You too, Mistress Sable," Thena replies with a little shimmer of a smile, and then, forgoing the feast, slips quietly through the crowd and out into the dark.

A huge hideously ugly mastiff, a Solace acolyte named Pyotr, 1 Templar Knight guards leave, following Thena.

Bedivere meets eyes with Alessandro, "You should try! I bet you will do better than you think, if you only believe."

Capri "Your Highness, a pleasure to meet you, again. Enjoy your night," Capri offers as he finishes his wine, handing off the empty and then heading off with a bow to Sabella.

The line has been dismissed by Etienne.

Monique stands to the side, watching the others with a keen eye. There is applause, and some wincing. "Yes, come on, Alessandro! You should have tried!"

Adam, A Young Apprentice, 4 Navegant Marines arrive, following Turo.

Bedivere says, "yeah, Go Lord...? Alessandro!""

Carita's late, and she /hates/ to be late to things. She walks in with an air of hurried disgruntlement, her assistant buzzing behind her as she arrives. Once inside, she smooths her hands over her waist and hips as she glances around for a familiar face before walking over to a banquet table to find a seat, blue-eyed gaze flicking from the dishes offered and the faces of those present.

Sable is distracted by the cheese. She surreptitiously takes a few chunks of the stuff, possibly putting her in Sabella's line of ire. Then it just seems like she'd better get a plate. There's another glance over her shoulder at the shiny, shiny altar, but she picks up the plate and starts putting a small selection of food on it.

Derovai has left the Evenly Spaced Lagoma Colored Bedding.

Etienne lifts up the basket, shaking the coins into a tiny pile and emptying them out his hand and putting them in his pocket. "The winners of our first contest are: Lady Monique Greenmarch, Master Derovai Voss, and Marquessa Quenia Igniseri!" Etienne drags a chest out from under one of the tables. "Those named, please retrieve a token from may you enjoy it or find someone who will!"

Etienne drops Gift Chest.

Turo has less problem being late to some things than to others. He happens to walk in just after Carita does, and moves over toward the banquet table, himself, nodding politely to the Darkwater woman, and helps himself to some of the food.

Bedivere would clap but can't, so he holds up a left fist he pumps upward!

Waldemai applauds the champions politely, and uses the opportunity to snag some more chicken. "Tastes like alligator," he remarks, apropos of nothing.

Alessandro eyes Monique skeptically at this, shaking his head a little bit, though he does let out a little chuckle. "Not unless I want a coin to hit someone in the eye," he remarks, though there's a grin at Bedivere, too. His attention is caught by Sable moving toward the cheese, and he remarks, sot voce with a look of mock horror, "I wouldn't."

Lethe claps for the winners of the contest. "That was a fun game to watch."

Quenia gets copper phoenix-styled fire striker from Gift Chest.

Ailith is overheard praising Etienne.

Ailith is overheard praising Monique.

Ailith is overheard praising Derovai.

Ailith is overheard praising Quenia.

Monique steps up brightly and gives a shake of her bright red head. "I'd like to defer my prize to my cousin, Lord Alessandro." She gestures the other Greenmarch to the gift chest in her stead with a grin.

Quenia walks over to where the gift chest is placed. A small smile curls upon her lips. She reaches in and grabs the phoenix fire striker. Who didn't see that one coming from this Flame? She looks up at Etienne, some amusement in her eyes. "I see quite a bit of Granato wines in there. I think I'll leave those for others to enjoy," she raises up her fire striker, and walks back to her bench. When she gets to the bench she notes to Monique, "We have a lovely black cherry and black current wine that's about to be delivered, if you want a taste some time."

Duarte steps in as Blessed Etienne is presenting the chest for the winners. He blends in rapidly and begins to clap, taking his cue from what others are doing.

Sable narrows her eyes suspiciously at Alessandro. "What? Why not?" She pauses in the midst of picking up a bit of chicken. When was the last time she washed her hands, anyway?

Derovai glances into the chest, but shakes his head. "I also cede my gift, but to someone who took a far greater challenge than I had." He jabs a gloved thumb towards the older, one-handed fellow. "You. Sir Whatever-It-Is. Your pick. May the odds be in your favor for the next game. You play Stones?" he wonders casually.

Alessandro gets Eight-Legged Revenge Spider Wine from Gift Chest.

Bedivere looks to Derovai, "What is your name, my good fellow?" He steps up, glancing inside of the gift chest but then looks over to Derovai, "Thank you, and I will play any game. I have never played the stones, but I will try!"

No sooner does Quenia settle that her newest assistant, Bellisa, arrives with a message. She takes it and reads it over, then frowns a bit. "If you'll excuse me, I need to get back home." She rises from her seat again and makes her way to the exit.

Bedivere gets a gold pendant enameled with the likeness of Gild from Gift Chest.

Quenia has left the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

Etienne picks up Gift Chest.

Confessor Imori, Confessor Warren, 5 Armed Confessors leave, following Tikva.

Alessandro gives a significant look to Sabella, then looks back to Sable, shaking his head. "No reason," he says, settling back on the bench, but that's before Monique gives him dibs on her prize! His eyebrows raise as he looks to his cousin, but after a moment, he says, "I will never turn down a prize." He stands then, starting toward the chest to look for something good. Like spider liquor.

Bedivere goes fishing and his left hand falls upon a pendant of Gild which he lifts up and looks at with an approving nod before looking back to Derovai. "Thank you, again."

"Wouldn't you like to know," Derovai responds a bit flatly to Bedivere, raising dark brows at the man. A sip of his drink later, he remarks, "Master Voss." His gaze darts towards Sable at that, a faint smile flickering on his lips for some reason, but he nods at the knight. "Quite welcome. If I get another one, it won't go to you. People might start thinking I'm generous or something. And I'll beat you at Stones, but let's play sometime. Traders Tavern has a board."

Sabella has left the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

Elizabetta, a disapproving lady-in-waiting have been dismissed.

Lily, an aloof lady-in-waiting have been dismissed.

2 Grayson House Guards have been dismissed.

Clark, an exasperated guard have been dismissed.

Bedivere should have guessed due to the announcement before. "I look forward to doing so, Master Voss. Do you think you could put this necklace onto me?" Yes, Lord Bedivere just asked that!

Sable consider the pregnant Sabella and rolls her shoulders in as much of a shrug as her leathers allow. "Could probably outrun her," she says. Then she frowns, and shoves some cheese into her mouth. A glance at Alessandro's wine. "That looks pretty disgusting."

Niklas calls out to Sable, "She will tear your arm off!"

"No," Derovai replies firmly to Bedivere. Another sip. He chimes in with Niklas, "Or talk your ear off, one of the two. So what about that painting, Your Highness? It's rumored to exist, but I am beginning to have the very gravest of doubts in the stories I'm told."

Sable eyes Niklas and defiantly puts another cube of cheese into her mouth, chewing very deliberately. Savouring it, perhaps.

Bedivere simply shrugs and can understand. He does not bother trying to do the neck adornment but instead wraps the necklace chain about an upper button which ultimately allows the Gild pendant to dangle down from shoulder level.

Etienne introduces yet another bit of entertainment, to keep people sated between their tasty feasts and frivolities. "This game is simple, and easy. You can play it sitting down, you can play it standing up. If you're coordinated you can even play it laying down!" Etienne removes a coin from the pocket of his coat, setting atop his thumb and forefinger he flicks it up into the air, and catches it. "That's it! I'll call a side, everyone flips and if you match you stay in, we play till the luckiest person remains! Watch your fortunes change in front of your eyes."

Shard eventually moves for the door, leaving as silently as she came in.

Etienne has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 1

Turo has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 1

Duarte has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 1

Lethe has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 2

Derovai has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 2

Monique has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 2

Bedivere has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 1

Carita has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 1

Alessandro checked luck at difficulty 25, rolling 4 higher.

Niklas checked luck at difficulty 25, rolling 16 lower.

Victus has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 1

Lethe tries her chances and sighs. "That's how my luck is." She looks around. "I think I'll be going, but it was nice to spend some time here."

Lethe has left the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

3 Tyde Houseguard leaves, following Lethe.

Another game has Monique sitting up and grabbing another coin, but thiss time the Minx has no luck at all. She pouts and makes no pain to hide it.

"That it does," Alessandro agrees with Sable as he sits back down -- though not before he takes a coin -- another laugh escaping him at her poking the bear. He flips the coin then, staying in for this round, at least.

Etienne watches the flips, and the flops as coins rain up and down within the shrine... like they should. "Six people left in the running!" he announces, polishing his coin on his robes preparing for the next flip.

As his coin toss goes down in a rather brisk fashion, Derovai shrugs, letting out a short laugh. Gazing around at those who are staying in, he draws close to the Navegant Count, all smiles for Turo, though the expression drops as he nears the nobleman, and he says something more solemnly to the man.

Etienne has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 2

Turo has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 2

Alessandro checked luck at difficulty 25, rolling 1 lower.

Duarte has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 1

Turo nods as Derovai speaks to him and then replies just as quietly, giving the fellow a friendly sort of clap on the shoulder.

Bedivere gets out a coin from his left pocket (the only one which has change) and flips his coin. It matches the host's result!

Bedivere has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 2

Bedivere even manages to do it for the second round, too. "Phew." says he.

Duarte fails. Sads. He steps back of his own according and watches the goings on.

Carita has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 1

Sable finishes her food and looks for a place to put her plate. It is not really obvious what to do with it. She ends handing her plate off to a smiling Disciple. That done, she generally keeps to herself for the rest of the evening.

Carita's coin flip fails her this time causing her lips to purse before she grins. "Oh well," is sighed softly.

This time Alessandro doesn't get quite as lucky, and he makes a face, though it's mostly just amused. He passes back the coin, before he surveys the spider in his liquor bottle with a critical eye. Will he drink it? Who knows! But it's clearly the best choice for a prize either way.

Turo seems to only be barely paying attention, as he's surprised when his coin matches the Archlector's again. "Well... look at that," he comments to no one in particular.

Victus has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 1

The player pool narrows now down to only two. "This might be the final flip, we'll flip until we have a final winner." Etienne proclaims, his shiny silver knight rising aloft yet again.

Etienne has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 1

Turo has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 2

Bedivere has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 2

Etienne has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 1

Turo has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 1

Bedivere has rolled 1 2-sided dice: 2

Etienne claps, and even hops a little as the final flip is performed, he once again is dragging out the chest from under the feast table. "Count Turo Navegant, collect your wonderful prize!"

Etienne drops Gift Chest.

Turo nods a little and then says, "I believe I'll give my prize over to my competitor... whose name I do not know, but who pushed me to the very limits of my coin-flipping skill." He grins and says to the fellow, "It's all yours, friend."

Bedivere comes in second place. He puts his coin away with the left hand and also does the fist pump as his replacement clap for Turo! "Congratulations!"

Bedivere bows slightly before standing up, "Master Voss gave mine to me, so someone else should receive this one." he tells Turo.

Turo shrugs and says to Bedivere, "It's your prize now. Give it to whomever you wish." He grins and then finds some wine.

Derovai blinks, looking surprised at Turo's gesture. "Well, I'll be," he murmurs, and if there's a touch of dryness about the statement, it's countered by a swig of his liquor. When Bedivere makes his suggestion, he considers for a moment, looking through the crowd. "That crafter over there," he decides, as if he has a say in the matter, with a nod to Waldemai. "You, sir, come to every event, say next to nothing, but participate. If you are hoping nobody sees you, that ends today. Claim your prize."

Dame Marra, a limping fennec fox have been dismissed.

Disciple Ismay have been dismissed.

Gaspard have been dismissed.

2 Templar Knight guards have been dismissed.

Etienne is overheard praising Ailith.

Etienne is overheard praising Faith of the pantheon.

Bedivere defers to Derovai, "Yes, please choose your prize" says he to Waldemai!

Onuris, an Eurusian hand-maiden, Quiet, a Valardin champion leave, following Katarina.

Apparently Cora had nodded off or something, not that she would ever admit to such a thing. She is looking around curiously now though. "I missed something I think, there aren't as many people here." she mutters

Waldemai looks around. "I just came for the chicken," he protests. "And to make a donation to the temple." But he's also outnumbered and it's not the time to use his hammer. "What am I looking at?"

Carita's laughter is soft, "That, I suppose, threatens my theory a great deal, doesn't it, Count Turo?" She finds her seat again to watch Waldemai pick his prize.

Derovai turns back to Turo, adding something quietly to him. He draws a sharp breath as he speaks, but he looks towards Waldemai, motioning him towards Etienne's prize chest. "Your selection, Master Crafter. Wealth awaits. Choose wisely."

Bedivere says, "Praise be to Gild!"

Turo replies to Carita, saying, "Not just threatens, my lady, but I believe it is sunk."

Waldemai gets Supple Leather Adventuring Boots from Gift Chest.

Etienne picks up Gift Chest.

Waldemai looks into the chest and pushes the marvels inside around. "Ooh," he says. "New boots!" His own, as one my expect, are stained by water and scorched by flying sparks.

Etienne slides the chest back under the feast table. "I find your generosity towards others to be inspiring tonight." he comments after the prize debate. "It exemplifies the ideals of Gild, truly. That is the end of our planned festivities for the evening. You're welcome to tuck in to the food, and the bedrolls and make yourself comfortable throughout the night. If you're afraid of the dark please take comfort that the templar are stationed at the shrine all hours of the day and night for its and your protection." he laughs at his own joke. "If you're looking to become closer to Gild, please take a free prayer book from the basket or come and speak to me at the shrine at any time!" With that, Etienne tucks into the plate of food so graciously provided by Monique.

Carita laughs and shrugs one shoulder, "One time, Count Navegant, will hardly convince me."

Bedivere bows deeply to Etienne before he finally makes his way to the food, picking up just a drink because he is a one hand only kinda guy. He moves back to where Master Voss is, "May Gild Bless you, Master Voss."

Etienne has joined the Evenly Spaced Gild Colored Bedding.

Monique has left the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

Monique has joined the Evenly Spaced Gild Colored Bedding.

Carita gets Gild's Uncommon Prayer Book from a basket of free prayerbooks.

Derovai gazes sidelong at Carita. "Twice, actually," he remarks a bit coolly, before he pulls a smile at Waldemai. "Nice boots." And to Bedivere, he nods, accepting the blessing without comment except, "And Count Navegant here, sir, whom I believe to be a good man." He stares hard at Etienne, raising his brows, but offers no comment, simply finishing the rest of his wine.

Derovai is overheard praising Turo: Reportedly a good man.

Bedivere completely agrees. He turns next to Count Turo Navegant, "May Gild bless you." He again repeats but for him. He then moves to wander about and personally meditate on Gild in this holy place.

Derovai is overheard praising Bedivere: Not the best at coin tosses, but hopefully an example of his Order.

Derovai is overheard praising Turo.

Turo chuckles and says to Carita, "Then I'll keep my eyes open for another opportunity for a demonstration, my Lady." He waves a slightly dimissive hand at Derovai's glowing compliment, saying to him, "Depends who you ask, so I'll take the compliment with a smile."

Waldemai waves his boots to the crowd. "Thank you all, and to all a good night!" He heads off in the direction of Southport Square, carrying his new boots. Old boots are good enough for wet spring weather!

Waldemai has left the a gold-inlaid bench of cherry wood, with plush aeterna upholstery.

Carita's brows lift as she smiles warmly Derovai's way, "Twice? Ahh, I think you were eavesdropping a little too late, Master Voss. We were speaking on my presence being poor luck, and as Count Navegant was seated beside me, and won, he claims to have proven me wrong." For Turo she dips her head politely and shines her smile his way, but says nothing more.

Victus eventually stands from his perch alongside Coraline. He moves to make his exit, though not before taking a wine bottle for the road as his animals follow him oujt.

12 Thrax Elite Guards, Crow - Thraxian Steward, Lilybelle - The Claw of Arx, Matilda - Shaggy Wolfhound leave, following Victus.

Derovai shrugs at Carita. "Wasn't eavesdropping. Took a guess. I have been known to be wrong before. Very occasionally, mind you, but stranger things have happened." He grins as Waldemai makes his way out, before nodding at Turo. "Would you believe the same thing happens to me? It very much depends on whom you ask, although I'll caution that what I do and what I'm /said/ to do are frequently two different things indeed."
