Thank's to an unexpected guest the nursery at the Valardin manor has been turned into a battlefield, as apparantly my niece Princess Ellara and her new friend have decided there is room for only one such forceful personality in those hallowed halls. Complete with opposing forts and frequent yells of, "You can't ride Horsey McHorseface across that! That blanket is the Ocean!" or "You can't sail your Dromond across the Eastern Lowlands!" and occasionally this degenerates into "Death Valardin" and "Thrax Smell!"
It is very loud at times, and Prince Samuel has given up on attempting diplomacy, but this is also a chance to teach our guest how to properly drink, tea and nice Oathland songs I have assured her she should sing to her father at maximum possible volume when she returns home.

I think Duke Vercyn's idea is the best one for weaponizing gauntlets.
Also as an addendum, I think High Lord Victus' supposition was that the blades extend from the tips of the fingers instead of over the back of the hand as I though, but I think such a configuration carries the same dangers of potentially injuring your hands in bad ways.

Relationship Note on Victus
Oh, it's been tried, but the issue is one of leverage and wrist positioning. As impressive as it seems in our imagination, flesh and bone are far tougher than we realized and with the blades coming out over the back of your hand it means sometimes there is no good way for your hand to bend to absorb impact. At best you will continuously do incremental damage to your fingers and if you strike there is a very real danger of dislocating your wrist in one go.

There are some people you are not ready for the idea of a word without. Sir Daemon Dracone is one of those people. I would be lying if I said I knew him well, but I knew him through the fraternity of knighthood, and I knew him through his actions, and his honor.
I remember when my wedding party rode out to the Vowkeeper hills and he charged the flank of some 50 Abandoned raiders that attacked us riding a Greenwood War Elk, Dame Ida riding with him and punching people as they passed. I thought for certain they were both dead but they came through it a little battered but in good spirits. After that.. I just I forgot that he could even fall, just like any of us could.
I haven't heard the story of how he feel yet, just that he has, and I will wait to ask those that where there with him until they have had some time to grieve, they were those that knew him best. I cannot help but imagine it involved doing something crazily heroic. Rest well Sir Daemon Dracone, I your soul still craves to much adventure to rest in Elysium, I hope you are sent back to us sooner rather than later.

Relationship Note on Tesha
In the wake of all that has happened I think Lady Tesha deserves recognition. As a voice of Telmar she stepped into a situation of which she had no knowledge of and has done her best to try and make things right with the victim and do what is best for her family. Sometimes someone causes a hurt that can never be fixed and all we can do is find the best path forward.
Man have claimed that the Telmar have covered this up for years hoping that Bliss would go away. Bliss Whisper, by her own admission only came forward about this very recently, and I commend her for doing so. Everard was a terrifying man we have learned and his influence has found ways to extend well past his death. Who knows what allies he still has out there. Coming forward had to be terrifying. However if you believe Everard Telmar could not have hidden this event from his family, you are vastly underestimating him. Do not forget he was aided in this by Addison Ashford (The man that assault Bliss Whisper with him) and he was also quite adept at hiding what he truly was.
Lady Tesha came into all of this blind as a new born babe. I feel she has conducted herself with honor despite being thrust into an impossible situation. It is very easy to say we know the answer or that the answer is simple, but the truth is that none of us can know that until we are thrust into such circumstances. I do not begrudge anyone sharing thier thoughts on this matter, but I ask that we wait to judge until the matter is finally put to rest.
I do wish to thank Lady Tesha for showing the grit that makes me feel pride in my vassals. When your feet where held to the fire you did not flinch.

Humor is a thing that everyone has different tastes and tolerances for. For me personally I feel like there are few things healthier than to have a good sense of humor about yourself. Being able to laugh about your own foibles and short comings is one of the great ways to find the humility you need to always strive to be better.
Now if you like to be the one telling the joke to "expose our hypocrisy and weakness" I commend you for your willingness to see my flaws and help me see them myself. I would also challenge you to have the courage to turn that razor edged wit back on yourself though. I think you will find yourself stronger for it.

Relationship Note on Morrighan
I don't really like winter anymore for a variety of reasons. There was a time though that it was my favorite time of the year and some good memories still remain.
A favorite is when brothers and sisters and I were gorging ourselves on Symanthe Morgan's famous Maple Bacon Muffins. They were a favorite winter time treat. Vance would usually pick all the bacon off of his and explain, at length, the virtues of bacon and how it should be consumed with only it's natural goodness and that we should stop asking to have it put in God's Damned everything.
So I asked him if that meant I could have the bacon he picked off and he promptly drug me outside and locked me out of the keep for the night.

I don't think there is anyone that can disparage what you have done or given of yourself for the Compact, and I would happily fight anyone that thinks differently, if not the for the fact you would whip my ass (again) for trying to be your white knight when you need no one to be a white knight for you.
But something you said made me realize there is one thing we have never really talked about, and perhaps I should share this thought here.
I have never consider you or any of the Greenmarch to have not been noble by birth. You are the descendants of Marcus of the Greenwood. A man of noble Oathland bloodline. A man that saw something was very wrong with the Last King of Sanctum before even Dame Sugan did by some accounts. A man that we recently learned gave his life to defend the gods of the Pantheon.
Even though the cultural differences have made things challenging and tensions and misunderstandings have happened and will continue to do so. I have never seen the Greenmarch as 'Savages we made noble.' I have always seen them as a noble bloodline that found it's way home.

The world as we knew it is getting bigger everyday, and though I cling to tradition because it is my bedrock I think we have to acknowledge that sometimes we are going to have to accept unconventional circumstances to find our way forward. There is one thing I want the entirety of the Compact to understand though.
