Relationship Note on Reese
Princess Reese is amongst the most honorable and decent people I know, and to hear that some fool may have called either her honor or decency into question fills me with a true anger. I know not the events, for certain, that transpired. I know certainly though the nature of the Grayson Princess, and I can stand resolutely firm in my belief that if she bears any fault, it is the fault of caring too much and trying too hard to protect others. Truly, no good deed shall ever pass unpunished.

To those who read this; I ask, before judgement is made, please read to the end. To those of House Grayson, I offer my sincerest apologies. To Sir Silas Mercer and his family, please don't hurt me.
I shot Her Highness, Princess Reese Grayson in the face with a blunted arrow from an alaricite bow.
Context might be appropriate. Sir Silas and her Highness were looking to spar and, as her Highness was armored and Sir Silas was not, it was suggested that the archers present offer distracting fire against the amored knightly princess. We agreed, and took position. I was, in fairness, not used to the draw of the bow nor prepared for the princess's speed of movement and ducking, diving, in her full metal armor. As a result, when she ducked, I loosed my arrow, and hit her.
In the face.
I then immediately switched my fire to Sir Silas; her Highness was still, to her inestimable credit, fighting on, and indeed won the bout. We understood much of the nature of supporting archer fire and how valuable it will prove in the siege to come.
I'm so very sorry. It was in a sparring ring, and all were agreeable to it. We have witnesses!

Today, at the Hundred Cities Inn, I met a princess by the name of Reese. I was impressed at her bearing, she carried herself like a warrior. Something I found to be very impressive about her personality was in the way that she was able to give Serah something to look up to, as I do not believe myself to be a good role model for what she should be...I hope that Serah can interact with her more, as she is now being nicknamed "the Winter Rose.".

I'm truly glad I braved asking her to the feast of senses and the wedding after we went to the gala and other wedding together. Worth the refreshing joy of her presence, even if I'm no doubt setting tongues to wagging being seen so much with a sweet innocent Grayson princess like her. Lark may have my hide if I hurt Ribbons good reputation with my drunken, useless ways.
Still, there's been too much pain lately, too much sadness. And she makes me smile, from pink blade I wish I could own equal of to her unrelenting optimism in face of dark times. She's a credit to her family and a ray of light in the dark for me.
Besides, she kicked Talen's ass and that gave me weeks worth of teasing ammunition.

When I first returned to Arx, Princess Reese and I sparred at the training center, as much to help me settle after the journey as any real training. I bested her easily, and at the time I thought she perhaps not seriously devoted to the study of the sword.. To see the progress that she has made, from then until tonight when she drew first blood with a worthy blow against the Sword of Velenosa. It is astounding to behold the improvement that her dedication and efforts have produced, especially in such short time. Her skill is not merely formidable, it is awe inspiring, and I fear that now I would barely provide a workout for her should we spar once again.

Princess Reese has been a great asset to the Iron Guard ever since she has joined. She is endearing, kind, and has quickly become a formidable combatant. She has helped bring several recruits into our fold and checks in with me frequently on the assignments we undertake. I have no doubt she will reach whatever goals she sets for herself, with flying colors.
