As someone who's been both a sellsword and a Champion I can tell you that they are not the same thing. We Champions fight for honor, glory, and the entertainment of the crowd. It's our main job. Sellswords just fight wars for money.

Petal and I discussed the possibility of having a competition between princesses to see which house has the best princess. She clearly thinks House Redrain would win, though she became unsure when I introduced the fact that there are baby princesses, which have the clear advantage of being among the cutest princesses.

So, this Champions Tournament is going well! So far, so good! Round 1 will be done soon, and Round 2 of the Winner's Bracket and Round 1 of the Losers bracket will start in the next few days. Who will take first place? I'm thinking Joslyn will, but honestly I don't know how good Sparte is in combat. He might prove to be a tough opponent for her. And I have no idea how good Jeffeth has improved since we last fought, he might be the dark horse of this tournament. What does everyone think? I'm right now Joslyn: 1st, Sparte: 2nd, Jeffeth: 3rd.

I could not have put it better myself, Bliss! I knew there was a reason we keep you around! Nobles should not hold back on issuing challenges. I can not speak for most Champions, but I love this job and it is my soul reason for getting out of bed. I will fight for you for any reason, big slight or small. And I imagine many of my fellow Champions love this work just as much. If you ever feel the slightest offense, or are even just bored and want some entertainment, issue a challenge!

So I attended that Salon debate in The Black Fox a day or two ago that discussed the controversy of Princess Alarissa asking for donations to get lessons from her. Since no one seemed to really think what she did was wrong, I decided to channel The Thirteenth and be contrarian. I tried to argue that giving lessons is what Vellichor would want of her, that giving lessons is a good in of it's self and that adding conditions dismisses that. While at first my argument was strong, with a bit of time the princess came up with a rebuttal that was too strong for me to refute, so I had to give up and go on to induct a new member into The Champions.
All in all it was an okay thing to attend, but not my cup of tea. I rather people just issue challenges to each other to settle disputes. Why take all this time and effort to debate each other when you can just throw two champions at each other and see who is right?

A tradgety happened at The Spirits this afternoon. After receiving a stuffed goat Princess Elgana Redrain let out a girlish shriek of such magantude that it left all the patrons of the tavern deaf. I pray to Lagoma that our hearing will be restored.

Twenty three years as of yesterday I've been alive. Four years I've been free since being released from Thralldom by Princess Donella. About nine months I've been a duelist in Arx. My life has changed so fast. So many ups and downs, twists and turns, but yet always growth and improvement. I've become faster, stronger, smarter, smoother then I've ever been. So not too long ago I fought against Lady Amarantha in a duel. It was quite fun! I sung a song, we exchanged puns, and in the end I won the bout. She is quite good at avoiding blows, it was quite hard to hit her! Also Princess Sorrel and Caith's fish puns were top knotch, I could learn something from them!
