Relationship Note on Nicia
I attended the masquerade at the Menagerie this week with my wife. Three years ago when it was first held, I attended with Nicia. It was our first public outing together at the very beginning of our courtship, when we were just feeling out if this was going to work. It was incredibly busy this year and I'm glad to see that it was so well received again.
I admit that after we were eliminated from the dancing competition, we ducked out to somewhere more private so we didn't see the conclusion of the event. But there was something romantic about sitting in the amphitheater and enjoying some wine, especially with no one else around but our memories. I can hardly believe that's been so long already.

I'm glad for the change in seasons, it means that the weather is warming up and I can begin to focus on all of the many projects that I have for my house. From parties to building and to maybe even, an expansion of our domain if possible. There's also endless bits and pieces of research that we're working on. I'm blessed to have the people in my family that I do, we work together as a team and we're fortunate to have each other for support. I look forward to what the rest of this year is going to bring for us.

Relationship Note on Oliver
I recently commissioned an outfit from Master Oliver Arterius. His work was phenomenal and I'm extremely pleased with what I received. He was also professional and much speedier than I anticipated. As promised, there was no overt bedazzling to my pants! I would surely recommend his work to anyone.

I was informed today that the mead of House Laurent was talked about in the journals! By an Archlector and one of the Softest Whispers! It warms my heart to hear that others think so fondly of it. Our meadmakers work very hard on our product and all of our ingredients are sourced from the duchy itself. With a few exceptions!
But really, I could write about the mead and honey all day long. Until I made a person cry! In fact, I think the scholar looks bored of it already. I'm so sorry.

I occasionally wonder about people who go on about the respect they 'deserve'.
I've always felt that, aside from a few instances, a public outcry about it on your own behalf lessens your stance.

I'm another noble that reads your journals. However I'd like to think that I'm doing it for reasons that aren't completely odd, for we've at least met in person previously.
For those who read /my/ whites, I would like them to note that I've had the honor of working with Natalia Whisper on a matter for Count Keaton. She has impressed me as being remarkably brave, cool under pressure and capable of extraordinary leadership in the face of dangerous circumstances.
Perhaps those who feel the need to "punch down" as Archlector Aureth so eloquently puts, should choose something else to do with their time.

Worship of Tehom is not banned in any parts of the Compact. There are people who wish that it was banned and people who choose to not partake in the worship. But it is not banned. If you received a missive stating something to the opposite, I would like to think that it was poorly worded one and/or that was misread.

I see that we're again discussing the Dominus' proclamation. I remain mildly confused about the uproar. None of this should have ever been a surprise. I wouldn't promote someone who had sworn an oath of fealty to house Redrain (no offense to the Redrains) as a Voice to House Laurent. Why would the Faith want people working for them or representing them that... also fundamentally was representing something the Faith does not uphold or believe in?

My sympathies are with those who find themselves barred from disciples suddenly, it's a particular kind of pain when you find yourself on the outs of something you were deeply involved in.
For those who happen to read my journals, I must kindly suggest that they reference the pages of Archlectors Aureth and Aleksei. You may believe in other things, if that is something that calls to you. But if you are to serve the Faith of the Pantheon in any capacity, you must serve it fully and without a devotion to others. I do not think that is unreasonable.
I sense there are some concerns from those who were once Mercies. Your path of healing others does not have to go unfulfilled if you wish to do it within a larger organization. The Physicians Guild of Arx does tremendous work and they are secular. They also have the added distinguishment of being run by Countess Reigna Keaton, a fine and honorable woman who works tirelessly for others.
