Relationship Note on Aislin

For someone better suited to the wilds, she's certainly trying to trap herself in the city walls: first it was managing Ashford business, now administration of the Society of Explorers. She's said she's surprised by the outpouring of interest; I said I was surprised that she was surprised. There is such a will among so many to drive back the shadows. She's played no small part in bringing forth light, from gathering like minds to freely sharing knowledge. I am glad to call her friend.

Relationship Note on Aislin

An explorer, a noblewoman and incredibly brave. I rarely read of the white journals, putting ink to paper more often as a sense of duty in preserving my thought than anything. Lady Aislin, however, fills the Great Archives with knowledge that all we be able to read while the Vellichorans protect it. I have met her only once, but I hope it is not the last.

Relationship Note on Aislin

She is likely one of my most cherished of friends since I have made my way here to Arx. I consider myself blessed by Ahj'on himself to know such intrepid women like Lou and Aislin. I feel it is people like them that make this world for the better.

Her Eurusi is still terrible it really needs to be worked. Along with her reading of it. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to stand the fact that she sounds more like an injured camel than anything else. Yet, I say that with affection.

I am glad to know her and help her in her journeys.

Desperately sorry I missed the inaugural meeting of the Society! Public apology: if I hadn't been taken up with an unavoidable issue of discipline among some of our men, I would have been there with bells on.

Well-- not literal bells. Vincere tells me I make enough noise as it is.

You and the society continue to have my full support! Adventures!!

How frustrating it must be to have you whole life reduced to 'aww, what cute stories' followed by 'Wait, what, you knew all along?! Why didn't you tell us?!' Capable woman. Good with common folk.

Relationship Note on Aislin

Lady Aislin is an adventurer at heart, but I was very pleased to find that when I spoke with her, her passion for discovering the precious history and knowledge that has been lost to us, has not robbed her of her sense of pragmatism. She seems to have a very solid head on her shoulders and keeps her head in the now, even if if her heart is in the lost corners of Arvum.

Relationship Note on Aislin

A woman worth her salt, Aislen bears the tone and tongue that comes with well earned experience. She is one of the few here in the city that I believe could match my love for the wilds over the finery of marble halls - not only wistfully wish for the wilds but actively seek them out. So many sit on their ass here and let the words do all of the action. Aislin is a woman of action, not proclamation and empty verse.

I see us becoming fast friends, faster allies still. I have promised to take her to the paths North that only a few, including myself, have traveled. I do hope she holds me to that promise and soon.

I'm so glad that Aislin is staying in the city for a while. Her wisdom and her courage is a bastion of strength for me, and I take comfort in the growth of our friendship.

Relationship Note on Aislin

While she was one of the first to meet me for tea and I adore her for that. I cannot help but think that I bored her senseless. She was not rude, but it was not the same warmth that might have been.

I shall, of course, attempt to meet with her again. I just hope that it goes better.

Relationship Note on Aislin

The only people truly capable of keeping up with a Grayson on an adventure are the Ashfords. Lady Aislin is the prime example of this. The tales of her exploits were fodder for my youth, when I dreamed of another future for myself, one spent in the wilds rather than the study. She might scoff to learn that she was one of my early heroines but the truth is worth recording here, for all to read. One day, I will contrive to arrange both Lady Aislin and Princess Lou at a table, ply them both with copious drinks, and simply let them them regale me with the true stories of the tales I feasted so hungrily on as a girl.

Relationship Note on Aislin

It's not insane to run headlong toward danger in the pursuit of knowledge; Lady Aislin knows full well what she faces in her adventuring. She simply weighs the knowledge that exploration brings against the possibility of harm, and finds that knowledge worthy. I rather like her. Addison was terribly fond of her, I know, and it is easy to see why. She brings me interesting books, too, from time to time -- or rather, she brings them home and I poach them (usually with permission).

Lady Ashford seems likable enough. Met her in the Grayson Gardens. No particular opinion of her as yet.

Relationship Note on Aislin

Aislin is a favored cousin of mine, from the Ashford brood, and is always a delight when one manages to pin her down long enough to enjoy her. She rarely frequents one location longer than a fortnight, so I was pleasantly surprised to hear that she'd returned to join her siblings here in Arx - even more so when she regaled us with her company at the quiz night I co-hosted with Princess Jaenelle.

Relationship Note on Aislin

I'm rather jealous of Lady Aislin, I have to admit. We share something of our upbringings, both being second children, but I was never given the freedom she was to take off and explore the world. I had to carve out my own contrary pursuits by force. Her adventuring has served her well, at least as far as her ability with a blade goes.

Relationship Note on Aislin

Lady Aislin Ashford is fierce, strong, beautiful and a little bit scary. A lot scary, perhaps, seeing as she's gone as far inland as I've gone outwards. She fights with the precision of a surgeon, wielding a sword like an extension of herself. But she seems, ultimately, uninterested in the political waters I find myself floating so often in, which may or may not be a boon. We've agreed to practice sparring, for the betterment of the both of us. There's certainly more to be had at the cost of but some time invested.

Relationship Note on Aislin

My cousin has come to the city too! I got to sit with her at the Northern Feast that Princess Deva held. She was full of stories of all the places she has been. Most of them dangerous and far away. I'm sure she's had all sorts of adventures and have fought dragons and all sorts of things.
