Well he still stays firmly in his place on the list of people I have never bested in a fight. I am proud to know I made him work for it this time though. That is not something I could always claim.

The Redrains have become close friends and allies and when Shirtless Boy marries my niece they'll be family. Couldn't ask for better. Fergus is quickly becoming one of my good friends - someone I shit with and drink with and enjoy just being a soldier around. Plus we can joke about dead ANYTHING and not think the other twisted and sick. Well, we -do- think the other is sick and twisted and that's what we like about it.

Ours was anything but a gentle upbringing; the Sword of Farhaven would not have his children thought weak, nor would he stand to abide it ever in his own thoughts - fuck what others may deem. His lessons were no crueler than the Northern winter's, perhaps even kinder?
We three grew in age and love together, sibling rivalry turned to a fierce loyalty felt in the marrow of our beings, extending past the shared familial name and responsibility we all inherited.

I wasn't sure in the beginning if getting along with this surly, grumpy man was possible - but as it turns out, he's not that bad. Quite frank, really, and doesn't mince words - which is something I can appreciate. (I wonder if this is where Freja gets it?) I think I'm beginning to understand the Prince a little bit, and we seem to be on good terms, now. I did make him rather exceptional garb, and he appeared quite happy with it. He's not someone I would want as an enemy, and it makes me thankful we're on the same side of things. Looks like this friendship thing is possible after all.

I had my doubts about Prince Fergus when we met in the Training Center. Tall as a tree and just as thick. A Champion brute if I've ever seen one though. Her went through both myself and Viktarkim in duels and walked out with out a scratch. And while I'm not sure he is the kind of strategist I'd like to plot a battle with, I would be damned sure to call on him in a fight. Men like Prince Fergus are a rarity and I hope to stay in his good graces.

-Prince- Fergus Redrain is a hard man, a seasoned soldier and a damned good fighter. I learned that anew today when he challenged me in the Training Center and proceeded to completely kick my ass until I could not get up. But then he was more civil to me then he's yet been and even handed my scabbarded sword back to me. He may strongly dislike me, but he's nonetheless a crusty son of a bitch I respect. Not thankfully the enemy I was wary he'd be, for he could have easily killed me if he'd been of a mind to do so.

The longer I am here the more I realize how heavily we lean on one another. The question is, do we break free and learn to stand better on our own two feet or use it as a fount of strength to draw inspiration from?

I had a semi-brief meeting with the Prince - and to be honest I wasn't quite sure how it would go. Considering neither of us left The Spirits bloody or with missing teeth, I think it went well. Maybe he's not as bad as I initially thought. Fergus is a lot more of a behemoth up close than what he looks like at a distance...the distance was very deceptive. I need to order a little more fabric..

A rift has grown between myself and Prince Fergus. Neither of us are to blame for that. Life has a tendency to pull us in directions that we never wished to go, but I know ours is a friendship that will endure. It'll just take some time and a little hard work to get back there. It's worth it.
