The Marquis of House Deepwood has had my respect, truly, since our first or second meeting when he was not just yet Lord Commander of the King's Own. He is, as always, generous with his words in regard to my skills for which I continue to be greatly honored as well as humbled. I'm always grateful that someone of such renown might seek me out for a learning spar.

That said, introductions to one's ancestors is never guaranteed with lessons. It's in the fine print.

I am indebted to the support that my liege has shown my House and the faith both the Marquessa and Marquis have shown in me while my father has been taking care of matters in Pearlspire. The Marquis brokered to get allow us temporary use of the Deepwood fleet to patrol our waters, and I think with their investment, we will have a chance to be even more useful as a naval presence than before if I continue pouring funds into the effort. I will not disappoint.

Now now, it'll be alright. How does this sound: ozonic snowdrifts swirled with feral white musk, shadowed with opium poppy and wild plum. Sticky benzoin resin, champaca flowers, and peppery carnations lurk beneath the frozen ground.

I don't know about the rest of you, but that just sounds lovely. I really think that the motivation to get outside and patrol will not change in the slightest.

I was up to my eyeballs in work when I decided to take a break and read through my forwarded copy of the Whites. I was -only- trying to give you what you asked for. But yes, I'm rather proud of my swear-word vocabulary, it took many fine people to flesh out and evolve into the beautiful thing it is, and sometimes it even helps me set gemstones without cracking them.

Anything can be a tool if you use it right. Same goes for weapons too, I suppose, though I've not weaponized my swearing. I might though.

There are those that lead and then there are those that lead by example. The Marquis has given me more than just instruction but something to strive for. The Compact is better for having him and Deepwood made stronger for his alliance by marriage to my cousin. We could not have asked for a more tested and true lord.
