I admit I've recently been sincerely toying with the idea of having an exceptionally fine quill forged from metal of some type. Like my cousin, Princess Elgana, lessons with the spear and shield just never came to fruition back in Farhaven. But in a pinch? I rather like to think that a quill to the side of the neck, were I able to manage it, would be quite a surprise.
Well, not /now/ that I've put it in the whites, I guess. Doesn't make me want one any less though.

I am both exceptionally excited and honored to record that I have been accepted as a member of the Gold Order as part of their support staff. To get to serve such esteemed knights, liaisons, and advisers is beyond words and I do sincerely hope I will be helpful in all that they do and hope to yet accomplish. While I've no skill with which to swing a blade, it is my aspiration that my abilities with words might aid them in some small way.
I've another interview coming soon for a similar role, possibly, which I am greatly looking forward to. It is a wonderful feeling, this potential to help in ways other than the martial, and I simply hope to do well enough to make even a small difference in some positive way.

I would gladly pay the mural price for a standard lesson, mostly as I think it should be considered hazard pay. I like bright and cheerful colors, hence the likely hazard to your person for as much.

Relationship Note on Lorenzo
Prince Lorenzo is gracious in word regarding the painting I sent as a gift, which he inspired, really, so only seemed fitting. Colors have always been a love of mine, as is the feel of paint on the fingers or brush. Perhaps I should seek out lessons to better my skills soon, but for now, I am glad to have a pleased recipient. I look forward to further inspirations.

Really, I should do one of you and your Bear Scouts! Something very heroic and inspiring! I think that will be my next painting, if fact! I've seen them about enough that I think I can capture them all well enough. Noting, again, that I'm a novice. Hopefully it won't all just be smudges. If so, it will just be representing how fast you all are! That's creative thinking, right there.

While my varied duties have kept me busy, I managed to get out for some non-official business that I am quite glad for. An exceptionally pleasant tasting at Master Venturo's brewery alongside Princess Katarina proved to be utterly delightful. It seems said brewery has a beacon that attracts all number of wonderful people, friends and new acquaintances alike! It certainly will not be my last visit there and I hope to conspire with him on a future event or two.
I had the pleasure and honor, as well, to be invited to share some insight with Master Sparte Fatchforth. I learned something new and had reason to think greatly upon history. I look forward to more discucssions such as that.
Lastly, of sorts, was reviewing the artwork at the Jayus Gallery with Prince Lorenzo, which has perhaps inspired me to do a bit of painting. I haven't really set much time aside for doing such lately, though suspect I really should. Not that my works are deserving presentation in the famed gallery, but it is still a wonderful way to put the mind and creative soul in focus.

Relationship Note on Elgana
I am truly blessed beyond measure with extraordinary cousins. The transitions we have all made from our childhoods in Farhaven to our adulthoods here in Arx make my heart swell with pride and admiration. Those hints of who we might grow up to be seeming to blossom as I watch.
Grayson Gift Day was a wonderful thing! Elgana gave me the most glorious pair of earrings as well as a rock, perhaps without knowing that even since Lady Khanne so graciously gifted me with my first paperweight, I collect such things. It is the most adorable pet bear and I love it! It brings a smile to my face whenever I look at it next to the otter one on my desk. Truly, bestfam!

My brother and I have exchanged gifts on this lovely Grayson Gift Day! As always, he knows me so well and picked the most perfect thing, one that I utterly lacked: perfume. Truly, I have the best brother in all of Arvum and the most glorious champagne silver "Heart of the north" ring as a gift from him. It is stunning, but what really makes it special is that it now sits on the finger where a ring my mother had given me, before leaving Farhaven, had been. I had given it to Lagoma's flame at the Thirteen Lamps ceremony and just never got around to attempting to replace it. It seemed too special, really, having had been a gift from her. I suppose the fates are indeed curious.

As this is my first summer in the city of Arx as well, I am grateful for all these wonderful notes on how to (to steal Father Orazio's mirth a moment) /weather/ it, quite truly! I have yet to swim in the ocean here and perhaps should try. I thought the only thing I might look forward to about July in the south was my birthday, but an ocean swim is now added to that admittedly short list. While some do sneak into the scrying pool at the villa, I find I am not quite bold enough to attempt that.
Sometime I will go to the ramparts, though. While still hot, if one finds some shade, the breeze high up on the walls is pleasant enough.
