You give succor to my fears, and ease those uncertainties back to smooth again. When the world is on fire, you blow away the flames better than anyone else.
It feels almost unfair to hand over a small burden to you for a time, because I've left your company every time eased, serene where I had trouble clasping tranquility before.
Let it be known you are the best of friends, level headed and clear eyed.

I'm taken by the notion of having the walls repainted. At least one of the walls. I suppose if I push away one of the bookcases and completely reorganize my room again, I can manage that mural.

I covet the calm of a still night more in the aftermath of a full social season. Having a precious few hours to reflect on the week and the varied activities is a thing to be treasured. Savour them. Treasure them. They are rare. How often nowadays do I get to drink a glass of wine under the plum-bruised sky and watch the fireflies gambol through the garden?
When did such instances become a rarity rather than the norm? I may not be suited to a quiet life, one rooted deep in the pleasures of home and hearth, but it has been odd to have a stretch of time to myself to write, contemplate, and drink to those come and gone.
Time rushes onwards. The summer brings countless prospects of weddings, silver-bright feasts, gilded festivals, and the lick of crimson violence. In this moment of reflection, I wonder if we won't all crave a little quiet.

The pursuit of information is a lifelong sojourn, a journey weaving a path through many unexpected corners. The hazards of setting out are far outweighed by the gains, but as any scholar can tell you, you'll soon discover your knowledge barely scratches how much there is out there.
Be persistent. Ask questions. Find likeminded folk willing to share their insights and guide you on the path of whatever you seek. A good many outstanding minds in Arx wait to help those who ask for such aid, and not all of them are the people you may expect.
But we are blessed by many inquisitive minds.

Relationship Note on Mia
Countess Mia and Count Thesarin deserve much credit for securing the county of Riven and expanding their outreach to those historically and socially overlooked by so many. The shav'arvani can be painted in a grim light in our stories, and they tend to be forgotten except in times of unrest. A mistake, as we've learned time and time again.
But the tireless, unsung efforts that direct the count and countess to expand their diplomatic reach has real effects. I've seen how the shav'arvani trust them, listening where they might otherwise respond to parlay and discussion with a hail of steel-tipped arrows. Every hour of that arduous journey, the count and countess rose to the occasion. Never did they complain. Never did they shirk the burden. I am sure they have doubts at times, and moments of worrying over the danger they faced.
But the results speak for themselves. Leadership shown by quiet dignity and profound purpose gave excellent results this month, and certainly for the future of the place I call home. Our efforts owe very much to Mia and Thesarin Riven, and further the outreach to the likes of Princess Denica. The Compact grows stronger and soars higher when we collaborate.
