When I returned to Arx after much time spent in the Cyrto Archipelago, I had little thought to seeking a new patron for myself. Today that changed. I believe if something feels right in your heart that you should follow your instincts, thus am I now the protege of The Merchant Prince of Revelry. He has an open mind and listens when I speak, supports without judgement, and I am grateful fortune crossed our paths.

With recent tragedy weighing so heavily, it is unspeakably therapeutic to have something bright on the horizon. The recent report from Venturo on Port Venture's progress to date and the development projects already underway have lifted my spirits considerably. I am so proud of what he's achieved and so eager to see what we're able to build together. Six years of collaboration, and it feels like we still have so much ahead of us.
I might even, in only this one obviously emotional moment, find myself inclined to call myself lucky.

Relationship Note on Venturo
I have, over the past couple of months, had the great pleasure of getting to know and work with Messere Venturo Thayne. In that time, I have been impressed time and again by his vibrant storytelling, masterful hand at brewing, earnest desire to know people, and rare ability to speak and listen well and in equal measure. For both projects we are working on, he has been instrumental in ensuring they run smoothly, and I am grateful for his input that challenges me and pushes the end result to be better than if I had tackled them alone. Today, I was reminded what a privilege it is to be acquainted with this man when I read his recent journal about the tragedy that befell the Kismet Carnival in Redreef Shores.
Venturo's promise to find employment for former thralls is not only close to my heart, but inspiring. As such, I pledge my assistance to his endeavor. If there is knowledge I can share, a skill I can teach, to ensure the success of such individuals, my time is offered freely. I trust him in this.

I like puzzles. The appeal of puzzles goes far deeper than the reward rush of finding a solution. The very idea of doing trying to solve a puzzle or finding something well hidden, typically shifts the brain into an open, playful state.
I heartily recommend visiting Kismet Hall if your mind feels a tad jaded.

Let it be known that the rumors of his story telling abilities and his prowess with brewing are all true. This man served samples of his most fine ciders accompanied by a harrowing tale that gave one the same pin pricks as did the heat of the spice built from up after many sips. I was called away after only sampling two vintages. I hope to return to sample more.
I recommend buying cider from this brewery. For, as my family says, there is joy in cider.

Your hosting skills, and the brewery you have worked developed in the city, are quite something. Truly, while I was not sure initially on the different ales - the surprise journey through ciders was quite appreciated.

I don't think anyone would call me a merry individual, but Messere Venturo gets me as close to it as I'm able to come. The import of his Kismet Carnivals to Nilanza's growing prosperity, and the morale of the realm in general, cannot be over-stated. I salute Raconteur Brewing and the good messere himself as a pin that holds our Compact together by making us a little bit happier in these grim times.

It was quite a while ago now we first spoke and you suggested that it would greatly benefit my House if we helped back your enterprise. Over a year, surely. That partnership has paid off both for my House and our lands, and myself. For a long time now, I have been awaiting the Kismet Carnival, and here, tonight, I attended the first ever here in Arx! They did NOT disappoint one bit. Stunning acts! Fun games! DELICIOUS DRINKS! Amazing Company! I haven't been able to get out much in... far too long.. but I am so glad I was able to make it tonight. The carnival was fantastic, and I cannot wait for it to travel to the northlands! And you, Master Brewer, were a phenomenal showman. Thank you and your other hosts for a lovely evening. I look forward to the next!

As a Lycene, I was raised with views more contrarian than elsewhere found in the Compact. I remember the Seraph of Ostria - a Mirrormask, for those who may not know or remember - once brought me a leather-bound folio of the White Journals written by an ancestor of mine. Written between the years of 645 to 647 AR, the Seraph bade me to observe the collection and tell him what I noticed. While I offered several obvious things (the leather was calf skin, it was written on Vellichorian vellum, it was over three hundred years old, etc), he seemed to be waiting for a specific answer from me. I opened the folio, and began to leaf through it. It was then that I realized this particular set of journals had never been read beyond page eight, for the rest of them, all four hundred and thirty seven of them, were uncut thereafter.
Only once I discovered this peculiarity did the Seraph further explain his lesson: That it was a warning to all, especially those convinced of their self-importance and puffed up with excess vanity. We Arvani, for whom the written word is of enormous importance, if not all-important, should try always to remember that despite the tenant of Vellichor, most people do not read; those who read do not understand; and those who understand forget.

I'd suggest that our Whites read as exactly the picture we mean to portray, and that any assumptions others make aren't necessarily wrong but merely the product of impressions left. If you brew a beer with coffee in it, most will say it's too bitter for them, but three or four might like it. Who is right in that circumstance?

If I have not said it before publically I shall do so now. Master Venturo is an incredibly clever man. His talents as a brewer are some of the finest I've found and everything I've had from his Taproom and barrels has been a delight. If you have not made the time to go there, do so. If not for a drink then for the stories and atmosphere. Look at me, writing a review. But really, I have drunk some of the finest whiskey tonight and think my plan will prove quite marvelous.

The skill it takes to successfully weave words into an enchanting story for entertainment is to be treasured. Not only is Master Venturo Thayne an exciting tale weaver but he crafts the most delicious brews! How can one not adore this man?! He stimulates both mind and tastebuds!
