Relationship Note on Marcas
An able bodied warrior. He and I met one another in mock battle. He is a shining example of the strength, ferocity, and talent of the men and women which hail from the north. We have agreed that we will meet to test one another again, twice more.
With the dangers looming on the horizon, Marcas is one who I am confident I will see after the blood has been shed and the fog of war has lifted.
I may need to recommend him to the Lord Commander.

During an underground brawl hosted in the lower boroughs I had the satisfying pleasure of fighting this man in the rough. I would upgrade my opinion of the Redrain captain from a dog without bite and only bark to a beast with a talent for unadulterated brutality. This, I can respect. I shall have to reach out to him, to speak with him another day and learn more of him. Somewhere commonplace, however, so he doesn't dirty the finery. The Unkindness, perhaps. They'll likely serve the slop and ale he prefers to the wines I would. Tehom give me strength.

Relationship Note on Marcas
Master Marcas Aodh. I had heard a lot of news about his prowess and his win against the Sword of Lenosia, and was excited to meet him upon the battlefield at the Grand Melee. A worthy opponent, and I would expect no less from one of mine, although I would have much rather liked him on my team than against me.
I can't blame him for convincing his team to go after me first. They showed remarkable strength together. And while there was a certain bit of tension while blood was still running high, I was able to have quite a solid discussion with him after the event that I think did some good for the both of us.
I'll look forward to teaming up with him at another event to show the might of the North.

Relationship Note on Marcas
I've considered Captain Marcas a friend for awhile now. He's easy to talk with, easier to drink with, and there's something about the manner he carries himself between casual and refined company that draws out my amusement every time. But watching him unleash in the pit was something else, as well as the switch to something closer to normalcy afterwards. A fearsome man, that.

The Hollow held a new kind of experience, one of blood and passion, one of violence and renewel. Marcus Aodh, a man of brutality; he proved himself. The Redrain breed good soldiers and Talen was glad he had the opportunity to fight one. It is something to consider-- these men are tough, powerful, good opponents. A challenge, for once.

Relationship Note on Marcas
Marcas is a dangerous soldier that has seen his share of death and destruction. There is a sadness and anger that rests just beneath the surface, and it is an almost deadly walk one takes when speaking with him. He is interesting though, and always quick to smile and share a joke with me when we meet. I don't know if I make a difference, but I would like to try! He is a good, albeit sometimes smelly, man. Loyal.

A Captain in Redrain service, under Duke Vercyn's command. A burly type with a history. I think he has lost family dear to him, maybe a child. He wears a necklace with a pendant that looks like it was made by one. A reliable soldier and man, but with the gruff and terse humor one would expect from a Northern Soldier. Good drinking buddy.

What can I say about Marcas Aodh - wait, are you sure that's how it's spelled? That doesn't look a thing like what he said his name was. That looks like Owe'd, as if he just stubbed his toe or something - fine, fine, you are the scholar and I trust you. I was just asking.
Where was I? Oh yes. Furs. Alcohol. Amusing accent. Brash overtures for romantic dalliances. I think that is what the north is made of. I'd accuse the man of being inhuman except that he couldn't hold back the vomit and came in last in the swimming event. That he competed at all is worthy of applause, though, I won't deny him that.

Hammar met Marcas at Acacia's party first. Hammar was going to dunk him in ale, but then Theodoric showed up. Hammar has tried to get the man to fight him, but no luck. Hammar kind of likes Marcas.

Relationship Note on Marcas
It was the way that he'd watch a room that first caught my attention. But Captain Marcas is, perhaps surprisingly, one of those people I can relate to. Sure, he might sometimes forget to bathe, and also be a little rough around the edges (not that I've ever minded that)-- but the fact he can drink most men and women under a table (or stool), speak frankly for the most part and still rub elbows enough to tend to his job as necessary means he's a rather perfect release for those rare periods of partial downtime. I expect that we'll clash heads every now and again, and I'm not naive enough to think that he got to where he is without having a history-- but I assume it'll be fun figuring it all out in the process.

Relationship Note on Marcas
I met this man at The Spirits inn and saw him again most recently at Acacia Culler's riverside feast. Both times, he seemed quite interested in getting involved with a brawl or tangled up in a fight. Apparently, he just likes throwing himself into altercations. Then again, he also made sure to unbuckle and remove his sword, so perhaps he's got some sort of honor under that crude, smelly exterior.
